Matt's pov
I was on my way back home after I had dropped off Jamie at kindergarten, and then in a couple of hours I have a construction job.
Before I left to drop Jamie off, we all three had just eaten breakfast together like a family. And it was nice to do that before I left Jamie.
I had one thing that I needed to do when I get back home, and that is to talk with Emily.

I just came back home, and I started to look for Emily downstairs. And since I didn't find her there, I walked upstairs to our bedroom.
I got to our bedroom and there I saw Emily was fixing with the bed.

Matt - hey!

She turned around since she probably didn't hear that I had gotten back home.

Emily - hey! How did it go with Jamie?

Matt - it went great, he really loves to be at kindergarten.

Emily - yeah...

Matt - can we talk about something?

Emily - yeah.

Matt - it's about what Jamie asked us last night when we put him to sleep.

Emily - ooh...

Matt - what was your thought about it?

Emily - I don't know, I was just in shock when he asked us that. Specially when he haven't been asking us about it earlier.

Matt - yeah I know.

Emily - what about you?

Matt - I was also in shock, but then I started to think about it more...

Emily - and?

I walked over to our bed and took a seat on it, and so did Emily also.

Matt - I want to have a baby since I didn't experience that when Jamie was a baby, and I want Jamie to have a sibling also.

Emily - I know, and i get that!

Matt - yeah?

Emily - trust me I want to have another one, specially when Jamie is just getting older and older.

Matt - I get that also!

Emily - so when do you want to have a baby?

Matt - I don't know, but maybe next year!

Emily - that's sound good to me!

Matt - wait.....are you serious?

Emily - yes I am!

I was so happy to hear that, so I showed her how happy I was.
So I started to kiss her and pulled her down to the bed so she was laying on it, and with me over her.
Our clothes was laying all over the floor and we where making love to each other.

After a couple of hours have passed I was on my way to a construction job, and I would be there to late afternoon.
And when I was done I would be home alone with Jamie, because Emily was going to work at Molly's tonight so it would be a boys night.

Emily's pov

The next day and new shift, both me and Matt drove in our separate cars. Because Matt had a construction job first thing after this shift.
So I had arrived at the firehouse earlier then him, because he also said he would leave Jamie at kindergarten.

Since shift hasn't started yet I already was out on the apparatus floor to check the rig and talking to the other two paramedics that was still on there shift.
But as I was talking to them a woman came up tj the Ambo.

She had brown hair in a ponytail and it looked like she was Latino but I wasn't sure.

Woman - hey!

Emily - hey! Are you the candidate?

Woman - yes!

Emily - welcome, I'm Emily Scott the PIC!

Woman - thanks, and I'm Gabriela Dawson!

Emily - come with me!

We left apparatus floor and went to bullpen so Chief could meet Dawson.

When we came to bullpen chiefs door was closed, but I saw Connie so she probably knew if Chief was there.

Emily - hey Connie!

Connie - hey Emily!

Emily - is Chief here?

Connie - yes he is!

Emily - thanks Connie!

Connie - your welcome!

I walked up to chiefs door with Dawson behind me, so I knocked at the door and waiting for Chief to give me clear to open his door.

Boden - come in!

I opened his door and walked inside with Dawson by my side.

Emily - good morning Chief!

Chief - good morning Scott, and who have we here?

Emily - this is our candidate on Ambo, and this is Chief Wallace Boden

Dawson - hey chief, I'm Gabriela Dawson!

Boden - maybe we should call everyone to conference room so we can introduce you to the rest of the guys.

Emily - I will tell them!

Boden - thanks Scott.

I left his office and Dawson stayed with chief, because he wanted to speak with her alone for just a few minutes and she needed to fill some paper also.

I walked in to common room first where some of the guys where.

Emily - chief wants to see everyone in conference room!

I left Again and walked out to apparatus floor and told squad the same thing and walked in to the locker room and told the guys who was there.
And those who was standing there, was Shay, Severide and Matt.
I waited for them and we four walked in to conference room and took a seat together.

After we had been there for a couple of minutes Chief came in with Dawson next to him.

Boden - I want to introduce you all to our candidate on Ambo.

Dawson - hey, I'm Gabriela Dawson.

Everyone - hey!

Boden - she is going to be here for a couple of shift.

They all nodded there headed and then the meeting was over.
Me and Shay walked over to Dawson since Shay hasn't meet her yet.

Shay - hey I'm Leslie Shay!

Dawson - hey!

Emily - she is my partner on Ambo!

Dawson just nodded her head and gave us a smile.

Emily - why don't we show you around!

Dawson - thanks!

We showed her first locker room, bathroom and the showers specially since she needed to put her bag in one of the lockers that no one use.
And then we walked out to apparatus floor where squad was sitting at there table.

Emily - so this is squad 3, we have lieutenant Kelly Severide, Hadley, Capp and Tony.

We walked inside to common room where the guys from truck was, and as usual Cruz and Otis was talking about something weird.

Emily - and then we have truck 81, this is L
lieutenant Matt Casey, Cruz, Herrmann, Otis, Mouch and Mills.

After we had introduced them all for Dawson,and let her talk to the guys so they would know her a little.
In the meantime as Dawson was talking to Cruz, Otis and Casey. Me and Shay took a cup of coffee and was just going to take a seat at the table when bell went off.
Bell Truck 81, squad 3, Engine 51 and Ambo 61

Matt's pov
Truck just came back after our call and so did squad and Engine. I hear that Ambo got a call after they had left a patient at lakeshore, me and the guys walked in to common room and mills started to make something to eat for everyone.

I took a cup of coffee and took a seat at my usual spot, Cruz and Otis took a seat so they where sitting next to me and Herrmann was sitting next to Otis  and of course Mouch was sitting on the couch and watching tv like he usually do.

Otis - so what did you think about Dawson?

Herrmann - not much.

Cruz - she seemed nice.

Otis - I thought that too!

Cruz and Otis started to talk about Dawson, and it almost seemed like they both was in to her. And I hope they don't do anything, since she is just going to be here for a couple of shift and when you are a candidate the best thing is to focus on that and not hooking up with someone you are kind of working with.

After I had been sitting with the guys and listen to there conversations, I left common room and went to my office instead to fill in some paperwork from our call that we had earlier.
