26| EXPLAIN

THE NEXT DAY, y/n and Draco decided to skip their classes, just to talk. The two is seated in y/n's room, in her sofa, one eating a green apple and one eating some grape. The two of them sat in silent, facing each other. If they could describe the situation right now, it would be the calm before the storm. The two of them soon finished their fruits and back to their composed posture.

"explain" y/n said plainly, deciding to ditching the 'composed posture' and sat back to the sofa with her feet stretching infront of her and Draco.

"explain what?" Draco asked, feeling his temper rising. Just as y/n was about to say something, Draco beat her to it.

"you pushed me away" Draco say 'calmly'

"yes, but at least i don't ditch you for Astoria" y/n said defensively.

"you're barely there" Draco said lying smoothly.

"i know, i feel it too" y/n said quietly, tearing her gaze down, her eyes getting glassy. Draco noticed it and he wrap his arms around her.

"y/n" Draco said softly, still hugging the sobbing girl. Y/n looked up to her best friend and wipe her tears.

"i heard the voice, everytime i do, someone gets petrified, so maybe- maybe if i pushed all of you away, maybe you'll be safe, i- i can't bear to lose any of you" y/n said sadly, stumbling between words.

"you could just tell us" the two of them heard a new voice by the door, they looked and saw Blaise and Theo, walking towards the two. Y/n started to get angry, she pushed Draco away.

"but you- you all lose me- in purpose- you three was supposed to be there for me- you two decided to get all busy with your career and you decided to go mingle with Astoria- Pansy and Daphne stole my money that i work for" y/n said chuckling darkly, her eyes is starting to change color, but y/n fail to notice- but the boys do, they were scared. Y/n chuckle looking at the boys who are scared at her.

"you know what- every day, every hour, every minute i spend in this bloody room, crying my eyes out, looking at myself in the mirror, asking if anything is wrong with me, but no, it's all your fault, if you all are my friends you will find the thing that is bothering me, not abandoning me" y/n said.

"it's all your fault, you know what since everyone loves to abandoned me that much, can't i abandon myself?" y/n said tears in her eyes, she hold her wand against her throat. The boys eyes widened.

Draco immediately hold y/n while the others tried to find a teacher of some kind.

"let me go" y/n said, struggling to point her wand.

"no, i won't" Draco said

"that's a lie, you always abandon me Draco, always"

"i won't make the same mistake twice"

"it had been more than twice Draco"

The two of them struggled to get the wand, Draco could just use expelliarmus- but he left his wand in his room this morning.

"Merlin's beard just let me go, Stupefy" y/n said loudly, pointing her wand at Draco- sending him flying backwards.

Y/n held the wand against her neck, just as she was about to say the magic word, McGonagall, Snape, Dumbledore, Lucius- who was attending a meeting rushed in.

McGonagall gasp as she saw y/n, even though she was eating fruits, she clearly had lost loads of pounds, her bloodshoot teary eyes, but most of all, her eyes doesn't held hope like it use to- its dead. Unlike McGonagall- Snape wad quick in action, "expeliarmus"

the wand that was held against y/n's neck was caught by Snape, safe in his hands. Y/n cried even harder.

"just let me go, you practically already did it, just-" y/n said her voice cracking but she was engulfed in a hug by Lucius.

Lucius knelt in front of her and hugged her, tears escaping his eyes too. She was like a daughter to him- scratch that- she is a daughter to him. But, she isn't the only one who was trying to protect- he too.

"don't go" Lucius say in her ears.

"you left me"

"i had too"

"of course you do" y/n said sarcastically.

As he heard her sarcasm, he knew she was getting better, he abruptly stood up and made his way out- he didn't want her in danger, he just had too.

y/n's eyes widened as she saw Lucius leaving her, see, another one leaving you.

McGonagall stepped to the girl and hugged her, giving a grandmotherly- vibes. Soon y/n calmed down in McGonagall's arms.

"whats wrong y/n?" she asked, y/n shook her head lightly, wiping the tears from her face.

"if you excuse me, i will talk to y/n" said Dumbledore.

Soon, one by one, every person in the room left, Draco looked uncertain, but y/n just nod, signaling him that it's okay. With one look, Draco found himself out.

"Is it the voice again?" Dumbledore asked, y/n was sitting in the couch while Dumbledore was pacing in her room.

"i just sort of blew up- they left me for someone else- they replaced me while I'm thinking I'm mental and I'm trying to protect them" y/n said.

"it's okay to let it out, but dear, don't try to kill yourself, i could see that the malfoys, mr. nott, mr. zabini, Snape, McGonagall, and me, truly cares about you" he said.

"but why would they left me?" y/n said.

"because they think you needed space" said Dumbledore.

"then why replacing me with Astoria?" y/n asked.

"if my eye sight is correct, i believe it was your sister who is a friend of ms. greengrass, i didn't recall one bit where the boys didn't have the nasty look on their faces" Dumbledore said, y/n looked unconvinced.

"you see, they wouldn't exactly think that you could hear voices" Dumbledore said.

but Draco knew she is a parselmouth.

Y/n's eyes widened- a snake, but it couldn't petrify someone- but a basilisk could.

"is there anything i should know?"

"basilisk" y/n said and she sprinted out of the room.

she made her way to the library- trying to find out more about the basilisk. But her lack of time outside of her room made her forget the way inside the Hogwarts walls.

She made the wrong turn and got knocked out, she started seeing black.
She was taken, in the daylight- without any clue on it except the red- painted words in the wall;

she is home.
