Ink's P.O.V.
Dream cleared all the residents who used to live in FT. I decided it was the perfect place to help KC with her powers. After lunch, I teleported us there. 'How should we start? Sensing? Show her one and have her try to copy it? Let's start with...reflexes,' I decided. I constructed a familiar hallway around us. "Are you ready?," I asked. She looked downright confused. I lifted my brush to summon bones. This will test her reflexes. Of course, they don't do any damage, but she doesn't know that. But she didn't dodge. She stared at them, rushing towards her until paint rushed around her, deflecting all my attacks. 'Just like how I shield myself from attacks,' I thought in awe. The shield went down to reveal her, eyes closed, arms up protecting her face from my magic. She stood like that for a second, when the impact didn't happen, she looked around. "How did you do that?!?," I asked, super excited. She tilted her head to the side, "Do what?"
No P.O.V.
They spent the whole day there, Ink trying to do whatever he could to trigger possible magical reactions. Error even stopped by to see how it was going. In the end, they conquered 4 things: she was able to pretty much master teleporting/portals; the "ink shield" appeared as a reflex to fast moving threats; she was able to make Ink blue a few times (even though she couldn't do anything with it because, well, no soul (but they don't know that)); and she was fairly good at dodging. When it was time to leave, KC wanted to stay longer. She was frustrated and wanted to practice more. She couldn't summon any bones; her blue magic only worked half the time, not to mention that she couldn't effect him with that magic; she didn't have a so called "soul weapon" that is customized to a being's personality and fighting style; at it was very hard for her to suppress the paint shield every time something flew at her. But, Ink dragged her home. When she got home, she decided to go back while everyone was sleeping to practice. She packed a small bag with a cell phone (that Ink recently gave her), a banana, a water bottle, extra clothes (in case she got sweaty), and a speaker. Music couldn't hurt, right? The rest of the evening, she anticipated bedtime.
When it was time for bed, she could barely keep her eyes open. She didn't fight it, knowing that, per usual, she would wake up in a few hours. When she did wake up, she quickly grabbed the bag she had packed and snapped her fingers. Good thing portals were something she had down. When she arrived, she realized something. How was she supposed to practice offensive magic if she didn't have someone to practice with? 'Oh well,' she thought, 'Guess I'll just work on trying to summon my soul weapon. That seems like enough for now.' She turned on the speaker. (Pls play music now while continuing reading)
The music started and she stood there, feeling the beat. She found herself slowly dancing and getting more and more enthusiastic by the second. Singing along, dancing, felt amazing. She was ready to try. She flicked her wrist, and a dagger showed up in her hand. If anyone had seen the motion, it would've looked like it had come out of her wrist. Was this her soul weapon? She was so happy, she didn't care that it was small. She didn't care if others would call it weak. She didn't care if other people had cooler and more extreme weapons. She did it, and that was good enough for her. She started dancing again, happier than ever. She found that she was fairly good at dancing and music helped her with her magic in general. While dancing, she messed up. Slipped on something. When she stood up, she realized that she was covered in a black goop. Then she saw her reflection on the shiny floor. Her body was covered in it accept the left side of her face and part of her shirt. This scared KC because it reminded her of Nightmare.
She quickly closed her eyes and only thought off it going away. When she opened her eyes again, everything looked normal. She checked all over herself, just to make sure. No way anyone was going to find out about this. She was too anxious about how others would feel about her. She decided that was enough and started to pack up. Little did KC know, the wrong person had seen everything.
Ooh, le cliffhanger! I'm so mean. Hope everyone liked it! Bye!
