(I skipped writing this part. Like other blank spaces between paragraphs that YN isn't a part of in my version. You should watch the movie to understand though.)

5 years later
Shanghai, china.

Mana one research station. 200 miles off the Chinese coast

A helicopter lands on the platform, Dr. Zhang goes to meet them.

"Are we living the dream here, or what?" The man who comes out the helicopter asks, smiling brightly.

"Welcome to Mana One, Mr Morris." Zhang stretches out his hand to Morris, the man looks down at it then up at him again.

"Get that thing away from me. What are you doing?" He says and he engulfs the older man in a hug. "Come on, bring it in. There we go."

"Good to see you again Mr. Morris, this way please." He gestures for him to follow.

"Hey you always smell so nice. What is that, sandalwood?" Morris asks as he goes to follow.

They walk down he platform.

"It's impressive so far, I'll say." Morris tells him.

A woman with her daughter comes walking toward her.

"Oh, here they are. Do you remember my daughter, Suyin? Our chief marine biologist." Zhang introduces the woman approaching.

"Hi." Suyin shakes Morris hand.

"" Morris tries to say in Chinese. She looks at him confused.

"" Suyin asks her father in Chinese.

"Sorry, what was that? I didn't catch it." Morris asks. Zhang and his daughter look at each other, unsure.

"She says she likes your hat." The little girl beside her mother says.

"Yeah." Her mother agrees.

The little girl smiles brightly at the man, making him a little confused.

"Let's go." "Why don't we go. Yeah, lets go." Zhang and Morris says at the same time.

They go to the elevator.

"Granddaughter is a pistol." Morris state as he gets into the elevator. "Okay. What have we here?... this is really...ugly. You know i realise were under construction and everything, but i really think that a world class research institute, deserves a world class entrance." He states to Zhang a little disappointed.

"Yeah, I couldn't agree more." He answers as the elevator door opens. Showing a fancy and modern hallway, with floor to ceiling windows, showing their underwater view.

"Wow." Morris says in awe.

"Welcome to the 0 level." Zhang says.

"Nice"

"This is our central hub, from which all researchers will access all five laboratories, once its finished."

"Wow." Morris looks out the window in awe. "Oh, look at that. That's not something you see everyday."

They admire the view for a few seconds, before Morris speaks again.

"Did you have those whales here on cue?" He smirks to Suyin.

"I might've lured them with some whale songs." She answers and they chuckle. "This is Lucy and her daughter Gracie." She points to the whale and the smaller one swimming beside her.

"Incredible."

They go back in the elevator.

"Here we are, follow me quickly, i hope we are on time." Zhang says as they walk out on another level.  He opens the door for them. "Come on in."

"Oh, wow. Ah, man." Morris says.

"I'd like you to meet our engineering sub designer, Jax." Zhang introduces the girl.

"Hey, doc." She acknowledges Zhang.

"Hello." Morris reaches out his hand for her to shake, she looks down at it, not making a move to shake it.

"Hey." Is all she says.

"Dr. Heller. Our medical officer." Zhang goes on to introduce. Heller stands up to shake his hand.

"Nice to meet you, you're like bones, huh?" Morris jokes and follow Zhang to the next.

"DJ, pilots our remote explorer." DJ stands from his seat as Zhang and Morris approach him.

"How it going?" Morris shakes his hand.

"You're my first billionaire." DJ tells him.

"And of course, Mac, our station chief." Zhang gestures to the man and Mac turns as he hears his name and outstretches his hand fro Mr. Morris.

"Mr. Morris, just in time." Mac says and shakes his hand.

"So i keep hearing." He says confused.

"Take that." Mac hands them earpieces.

"Just in time for what?" Morris asks as he puts in his ear piece.

"Good morning, Mr. Morris." Your voice comes through the coms.

"Y/N, our mission pilot." Zhang introduces you.

"Hi, Mr. Morris. Welcome onboard. It's good to have you." You wave to him through the camera, from the sub.

"Hey, how's it going down there?" He asks you. "Where'd you learn how to pilot a sub?"

"I spent years with a certain whale-saving environmental group that shall remain unnamed for legal reasons." You smirk to the camera.

"Yeah, asks her if she ever blew up a whaling ship with a homemade torpedo." The Wall says, and you turn to him.

"Hey!" You say.

"No!" Morris says in disbelief, eyes wide. He laughs and claps Zhang on the shoulder. "That is a good hire." He tells him.

"Eleven in two." "Water temperature is at six degrees." Toshi and The Wall reports.

"Mac, we are through the thermocline. We are approaching 11,000 meters." You announce.

"One hundred meters from the bottom... maybe." Toshi smirks to the camera.

"Maybe from the bottom." The wall says dramatically

"Maybe? What does that mean, 'maybe'?" Morris asks.

"Come on. Look at this." Mac says.

"Since 1875, we've all believed the Mariana Trench was the deepest place on earth. Ive had a theory that what we think is the bottom might actually be a layer of hydrogen sulphide. Beneath that cloud, and a freezing cold thermocline there could be a completely new world." Zhang tells him.

"Wow!"

"The Origin is about to see if my father is right. If there is warm water below, that means we're going to be the first to see it." Suyin says.

"And what if you're wrong?" Morris asks.

"Then you have wasted $1,3 billion dollars." Zhang answers.

"You're kidding." Morris states laughing. But Zhang shakes his head with an innocent smile. He looks to Mac.

"He's kidding, right?" He asks Mac instead.

"Copy that." He just evades the question.

"Wait, what?" Morris ask worried.

Back on the Origin

"Ten meters. Approaching boundary."

"Hovering a five meters. Full stop." You say.

"Final checks." Mac says through the coms. "Jax?"

"Good to go." The girl answers.

"Doc?" Mac asks Heller.

"Crew are a go."

"DJ?"

"Sub and rover are a go."

"Origin crew, we are go for insertion." Mac tells you.

"Insertion." Toshi snickers. And Wall chuckles.

"Is everything sexual with you guys?" You roll your eyes.

"Sex, food, power and... money." Last word the boys says in unison. "Blow it up now" They fist bump.

"Dive control, we are a go for..." You try to hold back the smile forming on your lips but fail. "insertion." The boys behind you chuckle.

You move the controls and start diving.

"We're in. You guys, we're in." You smile. "It's a cloud. Its not the bottom."

"Y/N, be careful. We don't know the depth. The sea floor could come right up on you." Mac tells you.

"Copy that, Mac. We're ready." You tell him.

"Guys, we are though!" You tell them you hear claps and cheer from the crew on Mana One through the coms.

"I have multiple small sonar contacts. There is life down here." Toshi says. "Congratulations!"

We all smile and look to the cameras.

"Deploying the lights."

"Light deployed. I'm gonna come around." You announce.

"Whoa!" You look around in awe.

"Oh, my goodness." You mumble. "Wow. Mac, tell me you're getting this."

"We're getting all of it, YN. Got a lot of smiling faces up here." He tells you.

"DJ, we got positive terrain to launch the rover." You tell him.

"Copy. Launch is all yours." DJ tells you.

"Okay. Rover is... free." The Wall launches the rover.

"Copy." DJ says.

"How is this possible?" Morris asks.

"This ecosystem is completely cut off from th rest of the ocean by the freezing cold thermocline. We should fine all sorts of species completely unknown to science."

"Sounds like a good investment." Morris says.

Then a notification alarm blares and Toshi's attention is brought to the sonar screen.

"Y/N, i have a contact. Bearing zero eight zero. Huh, its big." You look at your own screens.

"Oh, its huge."

"And its moving fast."

"DJ, is the rover seeing this?" You ask.

"Negative. Let me try and bring up some more lights." He tells you. "Whoa, i just lost telemetry." DJ announce.

"What the hell?" Mac exclaims.

"Origin, recommend an immediate right turn three-five-zero. This could be a landslide." Jax says.

You immediately make the turn. You look a the sonar again, seeing the object turning too.

"Last time I checked, landslides don't make 90-degree turns." You say confused.

"It's right on us! It's right on us!" Toshi shouts.

Something hits you.

"What the hell was that?" You ask.

"Y/N, what's going on down there?" Mac asks.

"You guys..." You say.

"What?" They ask.

"Come look at this." You tell them. Taking the image from one screen to another so they can see better, they look from over your shoulder at a crushed rover.

"What could do that to the rover?" You ask frowning.

"I don't think i wanna know." Wall say.

"It's coming back." Toshi announces.

"Oh, my god." You mumble when you see a huge figure in the distance.

"Let's get out of here. Blow the tanks." Wall exclaim.

"I'm trying. Its not working!" You yell now. Suyin, your best friend and everyone else in the room, looks at the screen i concern.

"It's not starting!" Toshi exclaim.

"Mac!" You yell.

"Whole system's down!" Wall shouts.

"Oh, my god." You look outside. "Oh, my god. DJ, Mac. Theres something down here. Jonas was right." You look horrified into the camera, holding your earpiece. "Jonas was right! Do you—" The feed freezes and goes out, so the crew can't see what happened.

"Y/N, come in." Mac tries. "Origin, can you hear me?" He tries again. "Origin, please respond."

"Y/N, come in." His voice pleading, scared for his friends. "Wall, can you hear me?" He tries. "Toshi?"
