Lionesses sun themselves on rocks as (Y/n) races by. She stops on a ledge where Sarabi is sleeping. Across from her, Sarafina bathes Simba. "Hey, Simba." (Y/n) said. "Hi, (Y/n)." He said. "Come on, I just heard about this great place." (Y/n) said, whispering, with one paw shielding her mouth. "I can't (Y/n). Unfortunately I'm in the middle of a bath." (Y/n) glowers. "And it's time for yours." (Y/n) tries to escape, but Sarabi snatches her up in her jaws, deposits her in her lap, and starts licking her. (Y/n) struggles to get away. "Hey! you're messing up my fur." Sarabi smiles down at her affectionately. (Y/n) jumps out of her lap and smoothes down her fur. "Okay, okay. I'm clean. Can we go now?" She asked. Simba lies on his back while Sarafina bathes his rump and sides. "So, where are we going? It better not be any place dumb." He said. (Y/n) approaches him. "No. It's really cool." She said. "So, where is this "really cool" place?" Sarabi asked, and (Y/n) flinches. "Oh." She turns around and smiles brightly. "Uh...around the water hole." She said, and Simba scoffs. "The water hole?! What's so great about the water hole?" He asked. (Y/n) smiles innocently at the lioness before turning on Simba. "I'll show you when we get there." She growled.

"Oh." Simba said, taking the hint. "Oh. Uh, Mom?" Simba sits up. "Can I go with (Y/n)?" He asked. "Hmm. What do you think, Sarabi?" Sarafina asked. "Well..." she said. Simba and (Y/n) walk up to Sarabi, grinning exaggeratedly. "Please?" They asked. "It's all right with me." Sarabi said. Simba and (Y/n) bound away excitedly. "Yeah!" (Y/n) said. "All right!" Simba said. "As long as Zazu goes with you." Sarabi said. Simba and (Y/n) pull up short in dismay. "No, not Zazu!" (Y/n) said. Simba and (Y/n) follow a dirt trail to the water hole, with Zazu flying overhead. "Step lively. The sooner we get to the water hole, the sooner we can leave." Zazu said. "So, where are we really going?" Simba whispered. "An elephant graveyard." (Y/n) whispered back. "Wow!" Simba said, and (Y/n) shushed him. "Zazu." She warned. "Right. So, how are we gonna ditch the dodo?" Simba whispered. "Oh, I know how we can..." Zazu notices the cubs talking in low voices. He swoops down to join them. "Oh, just look at you two. Little seeds of romance blossoming in the savanna." Simba and (Y/n) exchange bored looks. Zazu bows. "Your parents will be thrilled, what with your being betrothed and all." He said. Simba tilts his head. "Be-what?" He asked. "Betrothed. Intended. Affianced." Zazu said. Simba and (Y/n) exchange confused looks. (Y/n) leans forward.

"Meaning?" She asked. "One day, you two are going to be married!" Zazu said. Zazu grabs his sides like he's holding on to his coat lapels. Simba sticks out his tongue. "Yuck!" He said. "Ewww!" (Y/n) said. Simba ducks down to Zazu's level. Zazu crosses his wings huffily. "I can't marry her. She's my friend." He said. (Y/n) ducks down on Zazu's other side. "Yeah, it'd be so weird." She agreed. "Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but you two turtle doves have no choice." Zazu walks off, gesturing dramatically. Simba mouths, "blah, blah, blah," behind Zazu's back. "It's a tradition going back generations." Zazu said. "Well, when I'm queen, that'll be the first thing to go." (Y/n) winks at Simba. "Not so long as I'm around." Zazu said. (Y/n) strides up to Zazu. "Well, in that case, you're fired." She snarked. "Hmm. Nice try, but only the queen can do that." Zazu pokes (Y/n)'s nose. Simba strides up to join (Y/n). "Well, she's the future queen." He said. "Yeah. So you have to do what I tell you." (Y/n) thumps Zazu's chest.

Zazu puts his wings on his hips. "Not yet, I don't. And with an attitude like that," he gestures flippantly. Simba and (Y/n) walk away. "I'm afraid you're shaping up to be a pretty pathetic queen indeed." He said. (Y/n) looks over her shoulder at Zazu. "Hmph. Not the way I see it." (Y/n) pounces at Zazu. The landscape around her takes on a surrealist look, with bright colors and geometric shapes. "I'm gonna be a mighty queen, " (Y/n) advances on Zazu, who backs away. "So, enemies, beware!" (Y/n) nudges Zazu with her head, so forcefully that Zazu flips over a log. Zazu's back end gets stuck in a hole in the log. "Well, I've never seen a queen of beasts." Zazu jumps free. "With quite so little hair." "I'm gonna be the main event," birds fly away from a red-leafed bush as (Y/n) forces her head through. "Llike no queen was before." (Y/n) climbs up the log. "I'm brushin' up on lookin' down." (Y/n) strikes an arrogant pose. "I'm workin' on my roar!" (Y/n) roars into Zazu's face, causing him to fall backward into a mud puddle. Zazu stumbles forward, covered in mud. "Thus far, a rather uninspiring thing."

Zazu dries himself on a nearby red towel. The view changes to reveal that the "towel" is actually an elephant's ear. The elephant slaps Zazu away with its trunk, sending him skipping across a nearby body of water. In the water's reflection is a flock of flamingos. The flamingos fly away as Simba and (Y/n) race through the water after Zazu. "Oh, I just can't wait to be queen!" Zazu stumbles into a little brook. "You've rather a long way to go, young miss." Simba and (Y/n) skip into view, each on one side of the brook. Zazu points accusingly into (Y/n)'s face. "If you think..." Behind Zazu's back, Simba sticks out his tongue. "No one sayin', 'Do this!'" (Y/n) sung. "Now, when I said that..." Zazu turns to face Simba. Behind his back, (Y/n) sticks out her tongue and pulls out each cheek. "No one sayin', 'Be there!'" Simba sung. "What I meant was..." Zazu said. Zazu turns to face (Y/n). Behind his back, Simba makes a fish face. "No one sayin', 'Stop that!" (Y/n) sung. "What you don't realize..." Zazu said. "No one sayin', 'See here! " Simba and (Y/n) sung. "Now see here!" An ostrich runs by, nearly trampling Zazu and he screams. Two ostriches, one bearing Simba and one bearing (Y/n), race away into a hilly area. "Free to run around all day!" (Y/n) sung. Zazu takes to the air. "Well, that's definitely out." He said, Simba and (Y/n) ride along on the ostriches. "Free to do it all my way!" (Y/n) sung. Zazu flits through a forest. The silhouettes of Simba and (Y/n) on their ostriches race alongside him. Zazu flies in front of Simba and (Y/n). "I think it's time that you and I arranged a heart-to-heart." Zazu hits a green wall, which is revealed to be a rhinoceros's back end. Simba and (Y/n)'s ostriches approach. They duck their heads so the cubs can look directly at Zazu. "Queens don't need advice from little hornbills for a start." (Y/n) sung. Simba and (Y/n)'s ostriches race away. Zazu falls to the ground.

He takes flight and lands on a log. " If this is where the monarchy is headed, count me out!" Zazu's log is drifting down a river.. "Out of service, out of Africa? I wouldn't hang about!" Zazu's log plummets off a waterfall and he screams. Zazu flies to safety with an angry expression. "This child is getting wildly out of wing!" Zebras part to make way for Simba and (Y/n), who walk between them with a spotlight shining down on them. "Oh, I just can't wait to be queen!" Zazu tries to follow the cubs, but the zebras turn their backs on him and raise their tails. Zazu shields his head with a wing. Meanwhile, Simba and (Y/n) cavort through a herd of elephants. Zazu searches for them from above before swooping down among the herd. (Y/n) stands on a giraffe's head. "Everybody, look left!" Animals stream past, running over Zazu and he screams. "Everybody look right!" Animals stream past in the opposite direction, running over Zazu again. (Y/n) jumps up on several giraffes' heads like they're stairs. "Everywhere, you look I'm" (Y/n) slides down a giraffe's neck and poses on its back. "standin' in the spotlight!" Zazu shoves his way between two animals' rears. "Not yet!" The rears crush him between them. (Y/n) whispers to a hippo, who whispers to a giraffe, who whispers to a monkey. "Let every creature go for broke and sing!" Zazu dusts himself off.

Monkeys seize him by the neck and pull him into the trees. Crocodiles sing with birds in their teeth "Let's hear it in the herd and on the wing!" The monkeys toss Zazu to one another. Giraffes catapult Simba and (Y/n) into the air with their heads. "It's gonna be Queen (Y/n)'s finest fling!" The monkeys hold Zazu captive and groom him for bugs. The animals form a tower. "Oh, I just can't wait to be queen! Oh, I just can't wait to be queen!" An ostrich at the very top opens its wings to reveal Simba and (Y/n) on its back. "Oh, I just can't wait..." The animals start losing their balance and toppling over. "To be queen!" The animals fall, with Zazu getting crushed beneath a rhinoceros. "I beg your pardon, madam, but...get...off!" The rhinoceros does not budge, and merely continues to sit in the empty clearing. "Simba! (Y/n)!" Zazu said from under the rhinoceros. Simba and (Y/n) race to freedom and laugh. "All right! It worked!" Simba said. "We lost him." (Y/n) said, then she lifts her chin pridefully. "I am a genius." She said. Simba starts to walk off, but pauses and looks back in disgust. "Hey, genius, it was my idea." He said. "Yeah, but," (Y/n) gestures to herself with one paw. "I pulled it off." She said. "With me!" Simba argued. "Oh, yeah? " (Y/n) pounces on Simba. "Rawr!" Simba and (Y/n) roll on the ground. (Y/n) pins Simba on his back. "Ha!"

Simba gasps. "Pinned ya!" (Y/n) said. "Hey, let me up!" Simba shoves (Y/n) off. She starts to walk away, chin raised smugly. Simba smiles impishly, then pounces on her again. "Rawr!" Simba and (Y/n) roll down a steep embankment and laugh. (Y/n) pins Simba on his back. "Pinned ya again." A nearby geyser erupts and the two cubs gasp. As the steam clears, Simba and (Y/n) notice a nearby ridge, over which an elephant skull is barely visible. Simba pads closer, a grin spreading across his face. Together, the cubs climb the ridge to view the skull. "This is it. We made it." (Y/n) said. Simba and (Y/n) jump up on one of the skull's tusks and overlook the Elephant Graveyard. They exchange awed looks. "Whoa!" They said. "It's really creepy." Simba said. "Yeah. Isn't it great?" (Y/n) asked. "We could get in big trouble." Simba said. "I know!" (Y/n) chuckles. Simba and (Y/n) approach the skull. "I wonder if its brains are still in there." Simba said. (Y/n) grins deviously. "There's only one way to know. Come on." (Y/n) walks toward the skull. " Let's go check it out." Zazu flits in front of her, blocking her path.

"Wrong!" Zazu shoos (Y/n) away from the skull. "The only checking out you will do will be to check out of here." He said. (Y/n) reluctantly walks away. "Awww, man!" She said. Zazu wrings his wings nervously. "We're way beyond the boundary of the Pride Lands." He said. (Y/n) ducks down to Zazu's level. "Look! Banana Beak is scared." She snickers. Zazu pokes (Y/n)'s nose with a feather, as if it's a finger. "It's Mister Banana Beak to you, fuzzy. And right now, we are all in very real danger." He said. Zazu looks around nervously while (Y/n) strides past him. "Danger? Ha! I walk on the wild side." She pauses in front of the skull, crouching low "I laugh in the face of danger." (Y/n) rears back her head dramatically. "Ha, ha, ha, ha!" They then hear laughing from inside the skull. (Y/n)'s expression turns to horror. She races away from the skull and hides behind Simba and Zazu. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed emerge from within the elephant skull and prowl toward Simba and (Y/n), whom Zazu shields with his wings. "Well, well, well, Banzai. What have we got here?" Shenzi asked. "Hmm. I don't know, Shenzi. Uh, what do you think, Ed?" Banzai asked. Banzai looks back at Ed who laughs maniacally.

"Yeah, just what I was thinking... A trio of trespassers!" Banzai juts his head accusingly at Zazu, who continues to shield Simba and (Y/n) with his wings. Zazu clasps his wings like their hands. "And quite by accident, let me assure you." Simba and (Y/n) start to slink off. "A simple navigational error." Zazu tries to follow Simba and (Y/n), but Shenzi steps on his tail, halting him. "Whoa, whoa. Wait, wait, wait. I know you. You're (M/n)'s little stooge!" Shenzi ducks down to Zazu's level. Zazu pulls his tail out from under Shenzi's paw. "I, madam, am the queen's majordomo." He said. Banzai and Ed circle Simba and (Y/n). "And that would make you...?" Banzai asked. "The future queen!" (Y/n) said. Shenzi joins Banzai and Ed in circling Simba and (Y/n). "Do you know what we do to queens who step out of their kingdom?" Shenzi asked. "You can't do anything to me." (Y/n) said. "Uh, technically, they can." Zazu steeples his wings like their fingers. "We are on their land." "But, Zazu, you told me they're nothing but slobbering," Zazu desperately signals her to stop. "Mangy, stupid poachers." (Y/n) said. Zazu nervously clasps his wings like they're hands. "Ix-nay on the upid-stay..." Banzai juts his head accusingly at Zazu. "Who are you callin' "upid-stay"?!"

"My, my, my!" Simba, (Y/n), and Zazu try to run away. "Oh, look at the sun! It's time to go!" Shenzi cuts off Simba, (Y/n), and Zazu. "What's the hurry? We'd love" Shenzi advances on Simba, (Y/n), and Zazu, causing them to back away. Zazu shields the cubs with his wings. "You to stick around for dinner." Shenzi said. "Yeah, we could have whatever's "lion" around!" The hyenas laugh. "Get it? Lion around?" "Wait, wait, wait!" Shenzi wags a paw at Banzai. "I got one! I got one! Make mine a "cub" sandwich. Whatcha think?" Ed gestures wildly. "What, Ed? What is it?" Shenzi asked. Banzai looks in the direction Ed is pointing. "Hey, did we order this dinner to-go?" Banzai asked. "No. Why?" Shenzi asked. "'Cause there it goes!" Banzai said. Simba and (Y/n) race away, with Zazu flying overhead. As he flies, Zazu is caught by his tail and yanked backward. The two cubs pant. Simba and (Y/n) pause in the middle of the Elephant Graveyard. "Did we lose 'em?" Simba asked. "I think so." (Y/n) looks around. "Where's Zazu?" Zazu struggles as Banzai jerks him around by his wings. Ed and Shenzi watch gleefully. "Aah!" Zazu screamed. "The little majordomo bird hippety-hopped all the way to the birdie boiler." Banzai said. Banzai shoves Zazu into a geyser. "Oh, no! Not the birdie boiler!" The geyser explodes, sending Zazu shooting into the air like a rocket. "Aah!" The three laugh.

"Hey!" Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed stop laughing and look up to where (Y/n) is standing on the ridge above them. "Why don't you pick on somebody your own size?" She asked. "Like you?" Shenzi asked. "Oops." (Y/n) said. Simba and (Y/n) run away. Shenzi nips at (Y/n)'s hindquarters and she screams. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed emerge through the steam, blocking Simba and (Y/n)'s path. "Boo!" The two cubs skid to a halt and gasp and the the hyenas laugh. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed bite threateningly at Simba and (Y/n). They run away, with the hyenas in hot pursuit. The cubs climb an elephant skull, and Banzai leaps after them, taking a snap at their hindquarters. Simba shrieks. Simba and (Y/n) slide down an elephant spine. They shoot off the end and land on a hill of bones. The two cubs scream. Simba and (Y/n) begin to climb hastily as the hyenas close in from below. "(Y/n)!" (Y/n) pauses at the top of the hill and looks back in horror. Simba slides down the hill toward the hyenas with a scream. (Y/n) races back down the hill and scratches Shenzi's cheek right as she is about to bite Simba and Shenzi snarls. Simba and (Y/n) race into a high-walled section of the Elephant Graveyard.

They clamber up an elephant skeleton and paw desperately at the high wall, only for the rotting skin to break under them and send them tumbling to the ground. They clamber back to their paws, backing away in terror. The two gasp. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed close in. "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty." Banzai teased. (Y/n) stands protectively in front of a cowering Simba and roars weakly. "That was it? " Shenzi laughs. "Do it again. Come on." (Y/n) oars again, seemingly with a full-grown female lion's roar. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed pause. "Huh?" They asked. (M/n) swats Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed aside. (M/n) attacks Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Simba and (Y/n) watch in terror while Zazu lands next to them. (M/n) pins the hyenas to the ground and they yip. "Oh, please, please! Aunt! Aunt!" Shenzi said. "Ow, ow, ow!" Banzai said. "Silence!" Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed flinch. "Oh, come on, we're gonna shut up right now!" Banzai said. "Calm down. We're really sorry." Shenzi said. "If you ever come near my daughter again..." (M/n) began. "Oh, this is...this is your daughter?" Shenzi asked. "Oh, yours!" Banzai said. Banzai points at (M/n), then rubs his head with one paw, as if in mock realization. "Did you know that?" Shenzi asked. "No! Me?" Banzai gestures to himself with one paw " I didn't know. No! Did you?" "No, of course not!" Shenzi said. "Ed?" Shenzi and Banzai look at Ed who nods, and (M/n) roars. Shenzi and Ed hug one another in fear. "Heh, heh. Toodles!" Banzai waves at (M/n). Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed flee the scene.

Zazu lands next to (M/n) and nods satisfactorily. She turns and glares at him, causing him to flinch. Simba and (Y/n) approach tentatively from behind. "Mom I..." (Y/n) began. She looks sternly over one shoulder. "You deliberately disobeyed me." She said. (Y/n) looks crestfallen. "Mom, I'm... I'm sorry." (Y/n) said. "Let's go home." Her mother said harshly. She walks off. Zazu flies after her, casting a sad look at (Y/n) and Simba. (Y/n) and Simba trail after her. "I thought you were very brave." Simba said. (Y/n) looks away sadly. Overhead, her aunt watches the party leave with a furious look. Later that evening (M/n) stalks across the savanna, with Simba and (Y/n) trailing behind her and Zazu flying overhead. Simba peers uncertainly at (Y/n), who keeps her head down. Zazu watches the cubs from overhead. "Zazu!" Zazu flinches and hurriedly lands in front of (M/n). He folds his wings nervously. "Yes, ma'am?" He asked. "Take Simba home. I've got to teach my daughter a lesson." She said. She glares over one shoulder at (Y/n). She ducks low in the grass, with Simba watching in concern. Zazu flies over to Simba and (Y/n), and alights in-between them. "Come, Simba. (Y/n)?""

Zazu puts his wings on her shoulders and sighs. "Good luck." Zazu flies off. Simba follows him, with one final look over his shoulder at (Y/n). "(Y/n)!" She flinches and starts walking dejectedly toward her mother. As she walks, she accidentally steps into her mother's pawprint. She stares down at her tiny paw in the huge indentation. Then she skirts around the pawprint and sits next to her mother. She looks up at her mother nervously. She glares into the distance, then looks down at (Y/n). "(Y/n), I'm very disappointed in you." She said. She bows her head in shame. "I know." She said. "You could've been killed. You deliberately disobeyed me. And what's worse, you put Simba in danger!" She said, and (Y/n) breathes heavily. "I was just trying to be brave like you." Her voice breaks at the end. "I'm only brave when I have to be. (Y/n)...being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble." (M/n) said. "But you're not scared of anything." (Y/n) said. Her mother looks wistfully into the distance. "I was today." She said. "You were?" (Y/n) asked. "Yes." (M/n) ducks down to (Y/n)'s level and her voice softens. "I thought I might lose you." She said. "Oh. I guess even queens get scared, huh?" (Y/n) asked, and she smiles, and her mother nods. "Mm-hmm." (Y/n) leans in conspiratorially. "But you know what?" Her mother leans in, playing along. "What?" She asked.

"I think those hyenas were even scareder." (Y/n) said, and her mother chuckles. She grins deviously and lifts one paw. 'Cause nobody messes with your mom." (M/n) grabs (Y/n) and gives her a noogie. "Come here, you!" "Oh, no, no!"
