Chapter 21: Leo

"Stupid trees stupid rocks stupid dirt stupid everything" Yeah I was frustrated and tired and hungry and thirsty. Not to mention I haven't looked at a Mirror for days. When I save Annabeth I don't want to look like I've been camping in the woods! Even though that's what I've been doing. I thought about looking around for Blackjack but I guessed that he was already on the ship.

I've been looking for Annabeth for 4 days and still no luck. I found her backpack and sword and followed in that direction. I guessed she was being kept with Gaea but I had to get there without being noticed by them which meant going through the jungle.

I walked a few more miles when I got to this majestic entrance. It was gold with a border of silver and ivory. The pictures were stamped on there. Pictures of death and torture and imprisonment. I put my hand to it and felt the hum of an engine. It was beautiful. I looked around to see if there was a keypad or something and saw one a few feet away from me. Why the goddess of Earth needed something so modern I will never know. I got to work on the keypad using tools from my belt to crack the code of the door. It opened silently, thanks to my oiling on the levers that were camouflaged with the the ground.

I stepped inside and found myself looking into a prison. The prison wasn't empty though. It had creatures I never knew existed. They seemed to look like mutated organisms. A Cyclopes with 6 arms and smelled strangely of the Earthborn.

"Great now I have to take 20 showers just to get that stink off me!" I exclaimed. The door suddenly closed behind me. It seemed to have a timer on how it closed. I heard footsteps-the footsteps of a giant- and quickly got behind the cyclops Earthborn cage hoping to blend in with them.

"Humph I don't understand why we can just kill the girl right now! I think killing her would bring Percy Jackson to his knees then we can kill him too and Gaea can rise!"

"Mother told us to be patient! We will rule again. Don't let your ignorance get in the way!"

I immediately recognized those voices. It was Enceladus and Porphyrion. That was impossible. We destroyed Enceladus on Mount Diablo. How was he back?

"I smell demigod," said Porphyrion. "Do you smell it too?"

I stopped breathing. Please don't find me.

"It's probably that blonde girl's scent. No other demigod could get in here!" Said Enceladus.

They both walked away and I let go of my breath. I looked at the creature again and saw that it appeared to be drinking something that was changing it. I didn't know what but I knew one thing for certain. Gaea was creating a mutant army.

I walked all the way to the end of the room and almost cried out loud. I found Annabeth. She looked like she had broken bones. I took out my tools and broke into the cage quickly. At first I thought she was dead but I saw the slow rising in her chest. I got some of the ambrosia and managed to get some in her mouth. She moaned and opened her eyes.
"Yes your alive! I am not a total failure and Percy will not kill me if you died! Uh I mean, hey I came to rescue you. Sorry for the smell and the appearance and my clothes. I didn't have my fireproof jacket so my clothes burned. Hey Annabeth r u still awake or am I talking to myself right now?"

"Leo?"

"Yes also known as Repair Boy and supreme commander of the Argo II."

"Leo how did you get here?"

"Oh well after you went flying off on Blackjack I decided to go after to you to make sure you don't do anything stupid. So in a way think of it as you rescuing Percy! And then we both crash landed but I guess the giants only saw you. Anyways I found your backpack and sword. And we have to get out of here."

"But my left side it hurts. I can't run."
I looked at her side and see that she was holding her arm gingerly. I looked around and saw a crate. "Is that your bed?" I asked.

"Yes so what?"

"Son of Hephaestus at your service. I can make you a wheelchair. And then you can sit in it and we can get out of here. I'm hoping Percy Jason and the others will come by to get us by then. In the meantime let me fix your arm."
