"Just banging tunes and DJ sets n'... dirty dancefloors! And dreams of naughtiness!" Alex shouted into the microphone as he tore into the guitar for the second intro to the song. I watched along with a big smile, sat on a brown leather sofa with Colin Lester and Ian McAndrew, the band's newly appointed managers.
We were all currently at the band's rehearsal space in Neepsend; Yellow Arch studios was a cosy little building converted from a Victorian factory. They were rehearsing for yet another show on the 23rd of the month. The frequency in gigs was slowly starting to pick up now and this excited everyone in and around the band.
I watched in awe as the band played in perfect unison on their way to the final chorus.
"Well I bet that you look good on the dancefloor I don't know if you're looking for romance or I don't know what you're looking fooooor." Alex grinned at me as he belted out the lyrics and smashed the chords.
"Like a robot from nineteen eighty four! From nineteen eighty fouuuuur!" I mouthed along to the end of the song and immediately burst into a round of applause along with Colin and Ian beside me.
"Lovely stuff boys!" Ian smiled. I had worked out that Ian was the kinder of the two managers, with Colin liking to rule with more of an iron fist and not much emotion. "What else've got? Any new songs?"
Alex walked over and shared a few words with Jamie and Matt, nodding at Andy before speaking into the microphone. "We've got this new number called Choo Choo."
I glanced at the two managers. Ian let out a small chuckle while Colin just nodded.
"Let's hear it then!" Ian clapped his hands together with a smile.
"Alreyt... it's a song about a certain someone and about a certain summat that happened a couple weeks ago." Alex locked his eyes with mine and although I could sense he was trying his best to be serious, a small smirked still managed to appear on his face. If this song was about what I assumed it was, I'd want nothing more than to be swallowed up by the ground.
Alex stepped back from the microphone this time and addressed the band. "We ready?"
He received three nods for an answer before starting the song. Alex played a part that sounded like an old train horn whilst Jamie's riff could've been interpreted as the wheels of this "train" going over the tracks with Matt joining in with a fun beat after a short while. Andy joined in last as he copied Jamie's riff just an octave lower.
"My baby wants to drive the train... but don't you let her, well, don't you let her touch the tracks."
Alex's eyes were like magnets on mine as his gaze was locked on me. I tried my best to return the stare but I felt my cheeks start to redden.
"I said my baby wants to drive the train... well all aboard yeah, and don't forget to mind the gap! Don't you let her! Don't you know! She's sick and tired of... being in the background! A passenger, let her drive the train oh! Choo-Choo!"
They went into the chorus and I could already tell this was going to be my new favourite song. It was an upbeat "American Rock" type of song - really rather different to anything else they've done up until this point. And the best part? The fact that Alex had written a song about us having sex.

Me and Alex held hands with our fingers tightly interlocked as we walked out of Yellow Arch Studios. The boys played plenty more songs to the point where it was now dark as we made our way to our cars.
Ian and Colin said their goodbyes as they made their way to their respective cars. Me, Alex and Jamie would be driving back in Alex's red Mini whilst Matt and Andy would be driving back in Matt's mum's car which the drummer had borrowed.
I was currently helping Alex and Jamie load their guitars into the boot.
"Oi darling." I heard a husky voice call from behind me and I glanced to see a man leaned up against the brick wall of the studio. He was wearing a tatty leather jacket, black skinny jeans and a pair of black boots. His hair was slicked back and he had some a lot of acne around his mouth. At least... I think it was acne. I sighed slightly and returned my attention back to packing the instruments into the back of the car.
"Don't ignore me darl-" he started again but was cut off by Alex who turned around quickly.
"She's not your fooking darling alreyt pal?" Alex shot as he glared at the man who looked like he was at least 40.
"And who are you to be deciding that?" The man got off the wall and I felt my heart rate quicken as I glanced over at him.
"Her boyfriend mate." Alex said confidently with his head held high.
The man groaned loudly and I couldn't help but keep my attention on him as I turned around fully. "You really settling for that little pipsqueak babe?"
I didn't know what to say but luckily Alex did. "Maybe she don't want a boyfriend that's old enough to be her dad."
The man looked puzzled by what to say next. "Yeah? Well I'm only twenty." He stumbled with his words slightly.
Alex scoffed loudly. "Yeah and I'm fooking Roots Manuva pal." Alex laughed and closed the boot as he wrapped his arm around my waist and started to make his way to the front of the car.
"Don't you dare fookin walk away fro-"
"There a problem mate?" Andy walked over to us with his arms folded, glaring at the old man.
The creep could only glare back before spitting on the ground and walking away with a huff.
"Cheers Andy." Alex smiled slightly with the bassist nodding back.
I shook my head. "What a scummy man."
"You could say that again." Jamie laughed slightly as he got into the back of the mini whilst I sat down in the passenger seat with a sigh.
