Tracy's lips were parched. Her eyes fluttered open, she lifted her hand to her face to find it had been chained to the side of her bed. An exasperated sigh escaped her lips, why couldn't anything ever go right? She almost wished that it had all been a dream...but even if it had been it would have been real for her anyways, because she didn't dream. It was just one weird thing to accept after another. The squeal of unoiled hinges shrieked through the room.

"Tracy," a young man's voice sounded from across the room.

"That's my name, don't wear it out!" she responded sarcastically. The man approached her bedside he was a scrawny thing that reminded Tracy of a ferret with his thin face and disproportionate teeth. He rolled his eyes at her, obviously not pleased with her attitude.

"There are a few people who need to talk to you."

"What if I don't want to."

"It was more of an order not a question actually," He snickered, "It's not like you can go anywhere anyways."

Tracy's hands balled into fists causing the cuffs to dig into her wrists. She wasn't planning on talking to any of them, not in a million years.

"Tracy?" It was a woman's voice this time, "I have to tell you something." Tracy bit the sides of her cheeks determined not to give the woman any satisfaction.

"Tracy," she said again. "Everything you think happened was just a dream, you were just an experiment."

Tracy bit down harder, their tactics wouldn't work, they couldn't break her.

"Your parents gave you to use, they said to put you to use, because they didn't want you."

Tracy tasted blood in her mouth, her stomach churned, the taste of blood making her feel sick.

"Don't you have a heart, don't you care at all?" They woman's face appeared at the edge of Tracy's vision.

"Not when I know you lying."

"Why would I lie dear?"

"Every word coming out of your mouth is a lie, and I can prove it."

"I doubt that," she shook her head, "because I'm not lying, I know it's hard to believe Tracy but you have to face the facts. Plus we want you to know that even if you parents didn't want you we do, we need you Tracy."

Tracy shook her head, there was no way she was falling for this, but a twinge in her stomach did anyways.

"Give me a sedative." Tracy said quietly "maybe after a rest I'll believe you." Tracy did her best to look innocent, she tested her boundaries, she wanted to know how much they really knew. The lady frowned then plastered her smile back on her face.

"Sure sweetie whatever makes you feel at home." she handed Tracy the pills, and Tracy downed them eagerly, this was the test, if she dreamt it would mean her whole world had been fake, merely an illusion.

Tracy saw the lady standing by her bed.

"Yes she's asleep. Yes I know it wasn't the plan but maybe she'll trust us. Yes the rest of the plan should still be good. Yes of course. Send him in."

The lady set her phone back on the table and turned to put her hand on the scan pad by the door. It opened and the person behind it made Tracy fight her way out of sleep, he was the one person she needed to talk to right now.
