"I'm sorry!" Marinette squeaked as she pushed Adrien away.

"I-it's fine.." Adrien blushed a dark red.

"Wow, how romantic of a first kiss." Nino drawled as he applauded sarcastically. "The glimmer of hope in a place of death. Such beauty and modernized thinking."

"STOP WITH THAT ALREADY!" Marinette and Adrien yelled as the covered their faces with their palms.

"Marinette, we have to discuss this now. Are you really going to stay?" Nino asked as gently as he could.

Marinette twisted her face into a stern look. "I don't know."

"Please Mari. We've been trying and fighting and doing our best to help you... With the time frame left, we all need to know what to do." Nino pleaded.

"We can still help you stay. If that's what you want." Adrien leaned his back against the bench, still trying to maintain his red face. However, this made Marinette blush more.

A long while passed before Marinette gave a sure answer.

"I want to stay but I need to leave more." It hurt Marinette at the fact she was going to leave but the thought of saving everyone else kind of helped her mood.

"Are you really sure?? You don't want to stay? You don't want to continue-"

"I think I know what I'm leaving behind but a princess' job is to protect people and I guess I'll be starting that right at home." Marinette reassured Adrien.

Nino sat on the bench beside Marinette and gave a long sigh. "Never forget us okay?"

Marinette's eyes filled with tears again, but this time it wasn't joy, sadness or anger.

"I'm glad I have friends like you guys." They were tears of thankfulness.

Marinette continued crying silently as Nino listened to his music and while Adrien fumbled with his hair.

It seemed like an eternity before Marinette stopped crying.

"Nino... I'm. Ladybug." Marinette announced out-of-the-blue.

"Not even surprised Mari. I heard your conversation with Mr. Adrien and I don't believe your excuses at all. You know, when Adrien lies his ears turn red?" Nino chuckled.

"Nino!" Adrien warned.

"Whatever Adrien, it gets super obvious after being friends with you for like a year." Nino scoffed.

An explosion disturbed the bittersweet conversation and the trio were pushed back by the impact. Marinette screamed as she saw a chunk of wall fall on Nino's head. Her eyes were covered in dust and Marinette coughed as she cleaned herself of the dirt and grime.

"Nino! Nino!" Marinette screamed. She attempted to stand up but her leg was stuck in rubble. Nearby nurses and doctors scrambled to the area as well as police and security.

"Adrien!" Marinette shouted. Marinette pushed the rubble off her leg and bit her lip to cope with the sting.

"Young lady! Are you alright?" Three nurses spotted the blue-haired teen and quickly assisted her to the side. As soon as the dust cleared up, Marinette saw a chunk of the room gone and could only see the dark night and blackened building leftovers.

"Adrien? Nino? ALYA?" Marinette choked on her words and tried to escape the nurses aid to find her friends.

"I'm sorry dear but you were the first find. Keep waiting, we'll find your friends." An elderly nurse said as she tended Marinette's ankle.

"But, Alya! She was in dire help! She was in the room!" Marinette struggled to fight against the nurses containing her but the nurses didn't grow impatient.

"Two more were found but one of them is unconscious." A doctor updated the brunette nurse that was checking if Marinette had any head damage via walkie-talkie.

"Marinette!" A familiar voice greeted as he hugged her out of nowhere.

"Adrien! You're safe thank God!" Marinette grinned at the sight of Adrien hugging her.

"Nino's good too but-" Adrien paused as his face turned solemn and grim.

"But what?" Marinette felt a rush of adrenaline flood her veins. Her throat felt right and her face grew pale. She felt like something was wrong. She knew something was wrong.

"Alya fell off the building."

"What?!"

"Marinette... I think she's dead."

A/N I'm back from the dead so I'm quite rusty at writing so excuse my mistakes for now; they are baby steps. I AM the sorriest of the sorry for disappearing for like a month and come back doing this to you guys! I have a reason though! Sort of! I lost interest of this story since Unicorns9876 and I got everyone in our friend group to be so hyped up about it. Good right? Nope! Everyone started talking about it and it got me bored with the series since all they talked about is miraculous! Then when they exited that miraculous phase I followed them too since I, too, was bored. Then I went through my HP phase (which I'm done with now) and yeah, I'm back. Expect more updates since it is summer! Sorry for such a short chapter and a long authors note! Forgive me :D bye!
