Throughout the forest of Narnia, there was unrest amongst the trees and those who inhabited the forest. The Great Lion and Lioness ran through the forest then stopped in front of a lamppost. The Great Lion, Aslan, turned to his mate and said to her, "Are you alright, darling?" The Great Lioness, Aria, turned to her mate then looked down at the bundle of blankets she carried between her teeth. She gently laid down, placing the blankets between her paws and replied to Aslan, "I'm alright, love. So is Mara." Aslan looked down at the bundle of blankets which contained the Jewel of Narnia, his beloved daughter. He sighed, he wished things hadn't turned the way they had but he knew that as a father, he had to put his daughter's safety first. Aria felt tears on her fur and said to her mate, "Do we really have to do this? Aslan, there's a chance that she will grow up not remembering us." Aslan replied, nuzzling Aria, "We have to keep hope, my love. We must believe that the prophecy will come true and that Mara will bring peace to Narnia. We just have to have hope and faith that she will come back."
The couple spent a few more moments with their daughter then began to hear the shouts of animal noises and calls. Aslan said, nodding at Aria, "It's time, Aria. She must go to the professor." Just as he said that, Professor Kirke appeared from the wardrobe and bowed to the two lions. Aria sighed and took the bundle of blankets between her paws into her jaws, placing her darling cub into the professor's arms. She said to the professor, "Please, make sure that she is well cared for and loved." The professor nodded and replied, "I will do my upmost, Your Majesty." Aslan said to his mate, "We must go, Aria. We have to lay low for awhile and gather forces for the prophecy." Aria nodded then turned back to her cub in the professor's arms.
The lioness licked the baby girl's cheek, causing the baby to squeak, then nuzzled her. She whispered, "Mara, my darling. You must always remember who you are inside and who you came from. Remember that Mama and Daddy love you......so very much." Aria licked the baby girl one last time then stepped aside to let her mate say his goodbyes. Aslan did the same as Aria and whispered, "You are meant to do great things, sweetheart. Just know that I will always be there to watch you and I will always be there for you." Aslan then gently blew on the baby's face, causing a lion necklace to appear around the baby's neck. He said to the professor, "Make sure that she wears this at all times. It will keep the White Witch from finding her and it will keep her safe, as well as the lioness part of her hidden until she comes to Narnia with Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve." The professor bowed his head at the Great Lion then at the Great Lioness. Aslan nodded at the professor and watched with a heavy heart as the professor walked away with his precious daughter. Tears were streaming down Aria's fur as she nuzzled her mate for comfort. It would be sixteen years until the Great Lion and Lioness would be reunited with their daughter.
