Seth

Seth was wobbly as he got to his feet. An intense wave of nearly incapacitating pain almost forced him back to his knees but he managed to remain standing. The platform for the subway wasn't large so he realized quickly when the people at the other end began pulling out their phones.

A wave of panic swept through he with the force of a hurricane. The number one rule about the missions to the normal world was that their existence was supposed to remain hidden from humans. Then before He could formulate a plan to deal with the issue a white light began to emit from the peoples phones. With a sharp crackle that set His hair on end the phones exploded eliciting a yelp or a curse of pain from many of the people. He looked behind him to see Matt standing up his hand extended toward the people. When he did the crowd began to panic. In a hurry they rushed out of the opening that led to the street on the opposite side of the platform. Many taking the stairs two at a time. He looked at Matt in confusion.

   "How did you?"

"Our powers tend to make electronic devices go haywire," He said rubbing his head as he stood up to look around. "I guess you could say that it is a perk of the job." Seth tried to nod his understanding but a fresh wave of pain washed over him. He forced himself to focus through the pain until he spotted Jaden and his daughter who still seemed to be unconscious. Rushing over to check on the still prone Jaden he noticed that he was tightly clutching his daughter. He bent down and examined them. He determined that his shield of light had adequately guarded then he reached down and promptly slapped Jaden in the face. Was that wrong, probably but He wasn't feeling very gentle at the moment. However, it seemed to do the trick as with a gasp he jerked awake his eyes alert and wide. Then, a momentary spark of fear and confusion warped the mans face as he clearly struggled to remember where he was.

"Who, what...?" Seth saw the moment he remembered horror lit his eyes as he desperately cast his eyes about.

"Saline... My wife.... Where?" He choked out between coughs." Seth cursed as he also looked around for the lady and Michelle and he spotted them not to far away from the entrance staircase that had brought them down here.
"Matt check on Michelle!" He yelled as he ran to where the lady was laying still on the stretcher.
Seth reached down and carefully put his fingers to the lady's neck checking her pulse. He had put a light shield around her but that did not mean she would come out unscathed from a wreck like that. I took him a moment but he found her pulse. All at once a sigh of relief escaped from him.

She's still alive," He yelled back at Jaden.
Jaden ran over carrying his daughter in his arms. Laria was still unconscious from the crash and a small trickle of blood could be seen on the left side of her head nearly hidden by her hair. Seth held out his hand and after a burst of white light he held a roll of bandages. He handed the roll to Jaden who just stared at him, seemingly at a loss for words

"H...How did you? Did you just?" He stuttered unable to complete the sentence. He couldn't help but smile at the mans surprise, and he wondered secretly if he had had that same look when he first saw Stratos.
"Questions later, bandage her head. We have got to move, we are not far from the way home."

He looked around and saw Matt rousing Michelle while calmly bandaging her up.
"So this is what's it's like to be on a mission in the normal world. Normally Seth would've had no problem fighting hundreds of demons if they were low enough level but here he couldn't use his abilities to the fullest. A restriction that he was quickly understanding was wholly necessary. If they hadn't restricted their powers, what devastation could they have caused? As Seth was standing there looking at the damage they had caused, he heard footsteps behind him and turned to face a limping Michelle. She was looking a little worse for wear considering she was sporting a fresh bandage around the waist and pained expression on her face. She rested a hand on his shoulder as if asking his permission to use him as a crutch. He nodded and Michelle smiled gratefully.

"Do you feel it?" She asked a undertone of worry in her voice. He nodded not looking at her.

"Yeah, I feel it," He responded. "We've been surrounded ever since Matt scared the humans out of here." He rubbed his head as he tried to clear it and focus on the vibrations he was feeling through the earth. "I don't know what their waiting for but it can't mean anything good for us. Which is why I have an idea but you are not going to like it."

"You want to stay behind and hold them off while we get the family to safety," Michelle stated matter of factly while staring at him. he must've been giving off one hell of a surprised face because Michelle laughed lightly. "You are so easy to read," Michelle said a smirk appearing on her pale face. Confused he rushed to defend his reasoning but Michelle just held up her hand wincing.

"We don't have time for me to argue despite me wanting to. You are the least injured of all of us and have to highest possibility of pulling this off. Just do me a favor?" Seth smiled.

"Sure what do you need?" He felt a sting on the back side of his head.

"Come back alive idiot!" She said. he suddenly felt a rush of affection for the red haired woman and he realized that even after fighting together for nearly two years he still knew very little about his comrades.

As soon his friends were gone Seth stood alone in the subway tunnel. Funny enough, no one had come to see what had happened or even what was going on. He was sure that the demons were keeping them away. There had to be at least thirty of the shadow hunters surrounding the subway entrance. They hadn't even bothered to chase Michelle and Matt when they had driven out of the tunnel in a brand new van, this one equipped with a battering ram. This all only confirmed one thing, they had changed their target from the girl to him. He sighed, as he willed armor of light to appear around him and a spear of white light to condense in his right hand.

The only good news about this situation was that Seth could no longer feel the oppressive aura of the creature that had appeared in the back of the van before. He took a deep breath and did his best to let his thoughts fade from the fore front of his mind as he let his battle instincts take control.

Katie
Katie was working in the command center helping receive and pass on mobilization orders.
"Stephen get these weapon order forms to the blacksmith at once," she ordered as she handed a young man a stack of papers. The young man saluted slapping his right arm across the left side of his chest then ran out. Katie leaned back in her chair trying to take a short break before continuing the back breaking work that was mobilizing the armies of the Academies.

But before she could dive back in an urgent knock on the door of her office inside the Academy headquarters building.

"Stephen I already told you where..." She stopped as an exhausted agent poke his head in a wild look in his eyes.

"Ms. Malcovitch?" He asked cautiously. Katie could immediately tell something major was wrong.

"What's wrong? Is it Seth?" She asked hurriedly. She was already half way out of her seat before the young agent who
Couldn't have been more than fifteen years old nodded his confirmation.
Katie cleared the distance to the door in three quick steps grabbing the agent by his armor straps as she went by, panic was already building in her chest.
"We'll hurry and lead the way!!"
