Blake's Pov

Ssun and I looked at Y/N on the ground. That was unlike anything I had ever seen, even with all my experience in the White Fang. His eyes had been glowing, and he looked like he in multiple places at once with how fast he was going. Ruby ran up to us.

Ruby: "Blake! We aren't mad at you! Are you ok-" She saw Y/N on the ground.

Blake: "I think he's ok. Let's just get him back to Beacon."

Ruby: "Did you see Penny? That was so cool!"

Blake: "Yes, we saw. Wait, where did she go?" We looked around, and Penny was gone. I also saw that Sun had run off. Probably because he was not supposed to be here. 

Ruby: "How do we get Y/N back to Beacon?" Just then, some police and the rest of our team showed up. We made up from our fight earlier, and the police picked up Y/N and said he would be ok. I noticed Yang looking at him, and she seemed concerned.

Yang: "What happened to him?"

Blake: "He was fighting some elite White Fang member and got hurt." I avoided mentioning whatever happened, since he clearly didn't want anyone to know. Apparently Ruby was so caught up with Penny that she didn't notice.

Yang: "If I find them..." She clenched her fists.

Wiess: "If you do find them, you'll probably suffer the same fate."

Yang: "Nah, I'm too cool."

Ruby: "*Yawns* Let's get back. I'm tired."

Blake: "Yes, I agree." We got on a bullhead and headed back.

Timeskip

I sat in bed, think about what happened. Maybe Yang was right. There was no reason why Y/N should have been there at that exact time. Plus that White Fang elite had immediately dropped everyone else to deal with him. And seeing what happened when his aura broke, I knew it wasn't normal. I wondered if I should tell Yang. I knew he wanted to keep it a secret, and I didn't want to have to fight that. But at the same time, I felt like she deserved to know. 

Yang's Pov

I wasn't sure what to make of today. First Blake ran away, then we found her fighting criminals with Y/N and that weird girl from earlier. Then Y/N gets beaten up, which I have never seen happen before, and now he was out like a light from one fight. Whoever did that to him can't be some typical thug. And we also found out that the White Fang were working with Torchwick of all people. 

Timeskip

Over the next few days, not much happened. We went to class, trained, and did our normal school things. Y/N finally woke up after 3 days, which raised some eyebrows from our team, since if he took that long to recover he should have had some visible wounds. He was cagy as ever when I asked him about it. He claimed that he just took a hard hit and had to sleep it off for a few days. Blake said that that's what she saw happen as well, but I was still not sure. We were eating lunch, and then a food fight broke out. I'm not even sure what started it. 

Y/N's Pov

I was walking by the lunchroom when I saw two students who weren't from the school. One was the monkey faunus, Sun, and his teammate Neptune. They saw what was happening in the cafeteria and asked me if that was normal.

Y/N: "Oh, you've got to be kidding me, again?" I pulled out my scroll "Glynda, it's me. The kids are having a food fight. Do you want to break it up or should I? Ok." I hung up and turned to Ssun and Neptune. "Stand back, this could get ugly." I walked in, and saw team JNPR had set up a massive pile of tables, and were already engaging team RWBY. "Ozpin failed to mention I would be doing this," I said under my breath. Team RWBY had JNPR pinned to the wall and were about to finish them. I jumped in and beat up the remaining students without breaking a sweat, much to the dismay of both teams. Once it was calmed down enough, Glynda walked in and cleaned the place up.

Goodwitch: "Children, please do not play with your food."

I walked out and turned to Sun and Neptune.

Y/N: "Sorry about that."

Sun: "Don't be. That was cool!" I looked at Neptune, who had gotten covered in food.

Y/N: "It isn't cool if you are caught in the middle of it. I'm sure you understand, Neptune."

Neptune: "Yeah, I better go get cleaned up. See ya later!" He walked off.

Sun: "So are you finally better after... You know." The next thing he saw was my blade next to his neck.

Y/N: "Don't talk about that in public."

Sun: "Wow, ok, I get the message." I noticed teams RWBY and JNPR both were walking towards me, probably mad at me for making sure there wasn't a winner to their little skirmish. I teleported away. I wasn't exactly in the mood to talk to them. Actually, I never was.

Timeskip

I arrived in Ozpin's office. He had called me and asked that I come to talk about something. I saw Ironwood there.

Y/N: "Well general, what brings you here?"

Ironwood: "I think we both know the answer to that."

Y/N: "I saw your attempt at an android fighter was successful. But you being here will raise some eyebrows."

Ironwood: "I'm here because we need to be ready when an attack comes."

Y/N: "I get that, but it's not normal for headmasters to do this."

Ozpin: "Well unfortunately, we may not have a choice. Y/N, tell him what you know about the White Fang's involvement."

Y/N: "You didn't?"

Ozpin: "It was more recent for you."

Y/N: "Fine." I told him that they were working with Torchwick, and that they had at least one of their best here. 

Ironwood: "That is... Troubling. What is the maiden's condition?"

Y/N: "Not any better than it was. I don't think she'll recover unless we can find whoever did it and get the power back somehow. In the meantime, I will monitor things as best I can and try to draw out Amber's attacker."

Ironwood: "The other students still don't suspect you?"

Y/N: "One sort of does, but no one will listen to her."

Ozpin: "Until then, we have a tournament and a few other events to prepare for. Y/N's target may try to come back during the flood of students that will be arriving for the Vytal Festival."

Y/N: "So is that everything you needed?"

Ironwood: "Yes, thank you. That will be all."

Y/N: "Then I'll be off." I went back down the elevator.

Ironwood's Pov

I turned to Ozpin.

Ironwood: "Are you sure you want to entrust the fate of the world to that... Child?"

Ozpin: "He has never failed me before."

Ironwood: "That's a lot of responsibility for his age. He isn't even old enough to normally go to your school."

Ozpin: "If I brought in any other huntsmen, it would look like we are expecting something. Y/N can blend in, and avoid any unwanted attention. On top of that, he is theoretically capable of defeating anyone with his unique semblance. That is exactly what we need if we do find whoever nearly killed Amber."

Ironwood: "Speaking of which, have you considered a replacement? Her condition is not improving."

Ozpin: "For the time being, no. I have faith that Y/N can find whoever did this."

Glynda: "Even if we find them, we need to extract the power somehow."

Ironwood: "My scientists recently made a breakthrough with transfer of aura. I will get them on this."

Y/N's Pov

I went off to train. My reflexes were clearly out of practice. I thought about what times my target would likely expose themselves. The festival was an obvious entry point, but getting to Amber would be extremely difficult. What worried me most was that the dust robberies were happening at the same time, almost like they were trying to arm a whole army. Now the White Fang were involved. 

All of it felt like Salem was putting all the pieces in place for a full-scale attack. It all reeked of her manipulative tactics. She always tried to do things from the shadows, never exposing herself. If I failed, she would also likely get the Fall maiden. We weren't sure if whoever tried to kill amber was with her, but at the very least it will put the power out in the open. I had to stop them. If I failed, thousands could die. I needed to be on my best, no matter what. I hoped I was up to the task.
