Chicago: Sam's POV

A few days later

I wake up and check my phone. Again no texts or calls from Pat. Is he finally done with it? Today is the day that I'm going back to school. Jay and Will kept me at home for three days because of my concussion but now I'm feeling fine so they let me go to school. I get dressed and pack my backpack for the day. I go downstairs and get some breakfast. Will gets downstairs as well in his scrubs as he has to go to work. ''Goodmorning, ready to go back to school?'' He asks me. ''Yeah, I think so.'' I respond. ''Good.'' He smiles. We eat our breakfast and then get in the car. When we get at school Will stops me from getting out. ''If you're not feeling well of something is going on, you can call me okay? Jay has a day off today so he will answer his calls too.'' He says to me. ''Yeah okay, but I'll be fine. Maya and Ian are waiting for me and I think they're not letting me be alone today so..'' I respond. He laughs. ''Definetely, you have some good friends. Now get out and learn something today, Jay will pick you up after. Have a good day little one.'' ''Thanks Will. byee'' I say while I get out of the car. I watch him drive away and then walk to Maya and Ian who are waiting for me. ''Hey you, feeling better?'' Maya says when she hugs me. I nod ''Yess, but what do you expect with a doctor at home'' I smile. I look at Ian. ''Hey.'' He says. ''Hey'' I respond. ''Let's go to class shall we?'' Maya says. We all agree and get to first period.

Breaktime

After a few classes we get outside for some fresh air. We find a table where all six of us can sit. I grab my lunch and start eating. ''Well what happened after you left school Sam?'' Tommy asks me. I look up. ''Oh, uhm. Ian drove me to the hospital where my brother was waiting for me. He did some tests and found out that I have an concussion. So that meant a lot of rest and sleeping. But now I'm feeling a lot better so.'' I tell my friends. ''That's a relief then'' Jesse says. I nod. ''Yeah it could've been a lot worse but thankfully not. But let's talk about something else shall we? What about the school trip?'' I ask. We all start talking about it and making plans about what we're gonna do. Then the buzzer goes and we return to class.

Gym class

Finally the last class of the day. I don't want to admit it, but a whole day really exhausted me. I walk with the girls to the dressing room and we get into our sport clothes. I take an aspirine against my headache and flush it away with some water. We get to the field and I see we're doing soccer today. Yes my favourite! Maya can't stop talking about Mason as she has to update me in what I missed the last three days. ''And then we went to the park to picknick and it was so romantic'' Maya says. ''Ladies keep your mouth shut and listen to me please?'' Our teacher asks us. ''Sorry sir.'' I respond. The teacher explains what we're gonna do and then puts us in smaller groups. We start and play for half an hour. ''Stop and get over here!'' Our teacher screams. We all get to him and he devides us into two teams. We're gonna play a game against eachother. I'm with Ian and Maya. ''Oh honey, you two fit perfectly together'' Maya tells me. ''What? Noo'' I respond. The whistle goes and we start. I get the ball pretty fast and run to the goal. I shoot and miss, but I was very close. ''Good job Sam, next time you will have it.'' Ian comes to me and gives me a high five. I smile ''Thanks.'' We run to our classmates and start again. I have the ball and run as fast as I can. I pass it on to Ian and he scores! ''Yes! nice one!'' I yell. He runs op to me and gives me hug. ''Thanks to your assist'' He says and he smiles. After 15 minutes my team wins with 2-1. ''We're done! Have a nice day kids.'' The teacher says. ''Told you he liked you!'' Maya comes up to me. ''It was just a hug.'' I say. ''Yeah sure and that's why you got so red and nervous. You like him Sam. Come out for it.'' ''Why? And then what?'' I ask. ''I'm gonna help you, wait for it.'' She responds. We get to the dressingroom and change ourselves. I pick up my bags and leave the room. I ran into Ian who just came out of the boys dressingroom. ''Oh hey, you take the bus home?'' He asks me. ''Oh no, Jay is picking me up. He is probably already waiting for me, so I should go.'' I say. We walk outside school and I see Jay's pickup standing in the parkinglot with him outside but he is not alone, Adam is with him. ''Hmm, that's weird. I thought he had the day off.'' I think out loud. ''Maybe it changed?'' Ian says. ''Anyway my car is over there, you were awesome at soccer Sam, see you tomorrow?'' He asks. ''Yes see you tomorrow!'' I say and I walk to Jay and Adam. ''Hi little one!'' Adam says while he holds the door for me. ''Hi Adam, what are you doing here?'' I ask when I step in the car. ''Hank called us in, we need to go to the precinct, you wanna come?'' Jay says. I nod. '''Sure'' I say. Jay starts the car and we drive away..
