Me and Renee immediately got up. We ran so fast, you would've thought we took a stim from Octane!

I went one way around the rock, and Renee went around the other. Loba was now dead, but Path was sandwiched between us. He fixated his gun towards me. I knew he couldn't make it out of this alive, and he seemed to know as well, which was why he was only aiming at me, to get my health down, or knock me out.

It worked. He apparently had a Havoc with a Turbocharger, and they did damage. (A/N Actually though, I almost wiped out two squads at the same time with it) He took away my shields, and half of my health before he got knocked.

Then, I heard footsteps. "Please let it be Ajay," I mumbled to myself. "Please let it be Ajay."

The person came around the corner. I technically got what I asked for which was Ajay coming around, but Tae came as well. Ajay passed me and started to duel Renee.

Me and Tae however, froze and stared at each other for a little bit. We recovered quickly though. I quickly started to shoot him, and he did the same. I got knocked, as presumed since I only had half health and no shields.

Tae left me on the ground and started to help Ajay kill Renee. The words "Squad Eliminated" appeared at the top of my vision, and I bled out, spawning in one of the respawn boxes. I went forward to the front instead of leaving the box which was me and everyone usually did. I looked at the screen, currently showing Tae, since he was the one who killed me.

I watched his perspective until his team got third-partied by Elliot's team and Bloodhound's team. He got transferred to a respawn box next to mine and left. However, just before he got to the door leading outside, he looked at me, and I could see something in his eyes. They looked sad though, and then, as quick as he came, he left.

I was an idiot.

Witt would love hearing me say that. I almost smiled at the thought of it.

However, I frowned instead. I focused my thoughts on how I killed Natalie today. I didn't know how she would take it. I mean, sure, I kill the other legends as well, but I'm not as close to them as I am to her! I didn't know how this "friends outside of the ring" thing works. I've never had a friend before in this life after all!

I sighed, and got off the bed. I didn't know what I was thinking. Natalie's other friends kill her all the time, and she doesn't care!

It was different, though. I knew, just before I had shot, she froze. Just like me, she froze. Then, before I died, next to my kill count, I saw an eye with a one next to it. Then, after I died, when I looked at Natalie, I saw her coming out of the respawn boxes, which meant that she was the one spectating me.

I don't know why she stayed, but that wasn't exactly important. I didn't know if she was focusing on the fact that I killed her or not.

My thoughts were interuppted by a knock on the door. I went over to it, and opened it, and I froze, immediately.

"Hello, Tae," she said. I heard the french accent mix gracefully with the words.

"Hello, Natalie."

I looked at her. She was out of her Apex attire, an was now wearing simple black pants and a whote shirt. I saw her like this many times, but now, in a new light. I was stunned by her bright, blue eyes.

Damn you, Tae. Pay attention to what Natalie is saying, and don't let your feelings show.

"...tomorrow is Apex's anniversary, and I know you don't like celebrating stuff with all the other legends, so I was thinking you and I could sit in my room and make cookies!"

"Ok, sure," I replied, slightly distracted by the way her hair fell infront of her eyes, with her brushing it away every few seconds.

"I'm sorry, by the way," I said, not even meaning to say it out loud.

"For what?" she sad, confused.

"For killing you in the games, today."

She was stifiling her laughter. I could tell by the way her hand was over her mouth, but her giggles still had a little volume.

"What?" I asked, confusion shown on my face.

"It's just that-" she removed her hand from her mouth and started to openly laugh. I couldn't help but join in, and now we were sitting on the bed, our stomachs hurting from laughing so much.

We both tried to catch our breath. While I was struggling to do so, I fell back on the bed, and Natalie did as well. We were right next to eachother.

She then answered my question. "That's how the games go. We make friends, we get put on different teams, we kill eachother, the game ends, we sometimes apologize if the kill was unexpected, and then we forget all about the events of the game. We're friends outside of the ring, and then inside the ring, well, we're enemies. You see now?"

"Ye, I see," and I did. It made me feel better about the situation.

I turned my head, and only then did I see how close we were. Natalie turned her head as well, and she saw as well. She blushed, and I knew that I was as well.

"I should probably go," she said. "I have to make dinner and stuff."

I looked at the clock, and it showed that it was 7:38! I wondered how long we were just talking and laughing.

I saw that she was opening the door, and I had the urge to stop her, so I went with that urge.

"Wait," I said. I put my hand on door knob, which was where her hand was already. So my hand was on top of hers.

I blushed again, and looked away embarrassed, taking my hand off of hers.

"Sorry."

"Don't be. It's fine," she said, taking her hand off the knob and putting it in mine, intertwining our fingers. "What is it?"

"I was wondering if you would like to stay here for dinner? We could both make something."

"I would love that," she replied happily. "Can you show me how to make Korean food?"

"Ye, of course."

I was blushing like an idiot right now, which I slightly was.

I had completely forgot that Nat had pulled the door open a little when she started to leave, and little did we know, a little kid was watching us hug.

...

I'm an idiot.
