Today, there was an Apex Game. I knew I had a crush on Natalie, but I had to make sure that if we ran into each other, we would fight. I knew that we also couldn't team up with another squad to get Caustic out, if Caustic wasn't in our team. I got ready to go downstairs, as the games started at 4:30. I met Natalie coming out of her room and we walked down together. Natalie went to get some food, while I looked at the teams. Me, Nat, and Caustic were all on different squads. It was a trios match today. Not a duos one. I looked at my teammates, which were the only ones I could see, and I saw that I was paired up with Ajay, and Pathfinder. One support character, and two recons. If my squad started attacking Nat's squad, I would have to join in to make it look as if I only saw her as a friend and didn't care if we were something more or not. After all, every legend is friends with another except Revenant and now Caustic, yet still kill each other for a living. No one's had any romantic feeling for anyone as far as I know. Suddenly, I hear Ajay's voice, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Ay, yuh good? Yuh been standin' there for three minutes." I was slightly embarrassed, but I didn't show it. "Just zoned out," I replied, my voice monotone as it usually was. "Ok. Just checking," Ajay said. Then, Path came up to us. "Hello, friends! Looks as if we are on the same team!" "Yeah, we are," I said.

I knew my feeling for Tae couldn't get in the way of the game. I looked at my squad. Renee, and Loba. Tae had told me what each legend was. Bloodhound, Tae, and Path were all recons, Makoa, me, and Caustic were all defensive, Renee, Anita, Elliot, Octavio, and Revenant were all offensive, and Ajay and Loba were support characters. You couldn't see other people's squads, so I wouldn't know Tae's squad unless I ran into them, which I hoped I wouldn't. The game was starting in five minutes. I saw Ajay come up to Tae. He had been standing there for a little while, so I was guessing that she was checking up on him. She is the medic after all. It's her job to make sure people are ok outside of the games. I saw Path walk up to them. They all started talking about something else. Well, that's Tae's squad. I looked away from them and towards Renee, who winked at me. I knew that meant something about me staring at Tae and his squad. I saw Loba come up to her and I went to them as well. "I don't know. My abilities probably wouldn't help that strategy," Renee said. "Alright then. We won't do it I suppose," Loba replied. "How about we just trust our instincts with what happens in the game?" I asked.
"Well, we don't have enough time to decide on anything..."
"Sure, why not? If it means looting."
"It's settled then."
"Attention: The dropship is approaching the ring. Get onto your platforms. They will lower when you reach the map.
"We should probably go," Renee said. "We don't want to get bad landing spot." Me and Loba had agreed. We really didn't want to get a bad spot. Tae had taught me that positioning was everything. As well as aim. I wasn't too good at aim, but we were going to the firing range to practice after the match. We probably should've went before, but we didn't have time. (A/N For the love of god do you just need to know how to practice to do well in the firing range? It always seems to make me worse for some reason.)
Me, Renee, and Loba went on our platform. Everyone else went to theirs as well. We prepared to drop.
