The rest of the day consisted of you and Sherlock lounging about (when I say this it really means you spent the day lounging about while Sherlock paced about solving multiple cases). You watched as he prowled around the room in such a dark demeanour it seemed that he had become possessed, of course the man was just in his 'mind palace' waving multiple gestures as if swiping certain words away from his vision. It was an entertaining sight to start with, his multicoloured eyes darting around in surprise before narrowing once more, the repetitive groans and hums which emitted from his chest. Of course such actions did get rather boring to watch after a good few hours, even if Sherlock did look somewhat 'cute' doing them. Rolling off your numb behind you decided to check for any worthy reading material, the pair surely had to have some sort of novel or exciting story hidden in all the clutter. Weaving around Sherlock's path of thought you eyed the shelf beside the music stand hidden within a coating of dust and shadows, the spines of books messily protruded from the separate shelves where the musky smell of leather was at its strongest. You trailed an index finger across the smooth surfaces with a curious squint, some of the titles were harder to pick out than others, a range of old dictionaries and thesauruses took up most of the aged shelves but one specific book took your attention completely.

'Alice in Wonderland'

With a cheshire grin, you cautiously released the white leather bound hardback from its blanket of dust while settling into the nearest chair. The book was evidently stunning, raven italics stated the title while golden leaf embedded into the slivered ends of the thin pages, such a beautiful thing, yet it seemed to be left untouched considering how much dust had collected onto it. Spluttering a few coughs you gradually opened the book before staring in awe at it's contents. Moments passed before a familiar sense of being watched began to kick in, peering over the white leather you spotted Sherlock in his usual stance; hands clasped behind his spine with a cold gaze locked onto yours.

You sighed before moaning "What have I done now?"

He remained silent as usual watching your every move, like a predator awaiting to attack it's prey. You quirked a brow at his silence before going to speak once more, only to be interrupted.

"What is so 'special' about that book? I remember being shown it as a child, the book is filled with nonsense about fantasies and illusions which are clearly, no 'pun' intended. Mad." He sneered the last part as if it was venom resting on his tongue, how could someone show such a hatred to one of the most well known original children book? Blinking away his unbelievable comment you suddenly flashed a devilish smirk, Sherlock reacted with an uneasy look stepping backwards.

"(y/n)?..." His tone was low and full of caution while your features still hosted that dark mischievous smile.

"Would you like me to read it to you, Sherly?" You held back a row of snickers by the use of his new found nickname, Sherlock wrinkled his nose in reaction to the sickly sweet title before responding in a monotone "No, thank you."

"Aww c'mon you'll love it. Sheeerly" Sherlock began to frown before adamantly stating "No. (y/n) do not read that book aloud. I am not a child" At this comment you scoffed privately to yourself earning a dark glare which only amused you more.

"You're in my chair."

"Hm?"

"My chair, (y/n) you are sitting in my chair."

"Don't change the subject Sherlock"

"I am simply stating that you are sitting in my chair"

"Well I am simply stating that I do not care that I'm sitting in your chair" With a small giggle you childishly rethought that your comment rhymed, it had been a while since you had managed to incorporate rhymes into your speech unwillingly, such a funny thing that. Swiftly re-opening the fragile book you flicked across the introduction to meet sight with the first chapter 'Down The Rabbit-Hole' and began to voice out the writings making sure to add emphasis on the dialogue.

"Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, 'and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice, 'without pictures or conversations-"

Your reading was cut off when a pair of slender fingers snatched away the book from your grasp, you responded with a 'hmph' before shooting from the chair

"Hey, give it back I was reading that!"

"Yes, you were reading that. And now you are not" You frowned at Sherlock's sarcastic reply before jumping in attempt to regain the book to continue your reading. It was a failing series of attempts considering his height as well as stability was quite to your disadvantage, flailing your arms wildly you tried to steal the book from his pallid hands repetitively with no avail. You decided to change tactics and literally began to climb the consultant detectives torso, he started to chuckle as your worthless attacks threw him off balance; the two of you ventured about the room knocking over random piles of somewhat organized papers sending them flying.

"Give. It. Back!" Gripping tightly onto his once pristine shirt, you lost balance attempting to jump while reaching for the book earning a squeal as the pair of you buckled onto the ground. There was what seemed like an eruption of paper, covering half of the surface area within the apartment, you groaned rubbing your head and removing a spare sheet out of your view. Once your vision had cleared you spotted Sherlock, pinned to the floor looking up at you with an unamused face, his dark curls were now messily splayed across his temple while he continued to stare at you.

A bright red splashed your cheeks to resemble tomatoes as you noted that you were literally on top of Sherlock, the book had disappeared under the piles of untamed papers but by this point you had forgotten about it completely. You observed his hardened face with care, dotting together the flecks of amber's and golds which lined in his potentially grey eyes not forgetting to wash over the prominent cheeks 'which seemed to now be tinted with colour? You must be imagining things or hit your head. Something like that '. You could of watched him for an eternity had it been that you were not practically sitting on him; plus it would be rather inappropriate to do so. You barely knew the man, but in so many different ways you somehow did.

"(y/n)."

"Huh?"

Blinking away your fuzzy feelings of warmth you reawakened to find Sherlock with his palm wrapped around your wrist delicately, you must of subconsciously reached towards him, this realization didn't help the rouging of your cheeks at all.

"I-I'm sorry..."

Shuffling off of the detective you dipped your head in shame that you had been so invasive. As the tension faded so did the blush on Sherlock's cheeks, clearing his throat he stood before doing something unexpected. His slender arms wrapped tightly around your torso hauling you from the ground to meet his stare.

"About what?"

You practically choked, how did he not notice. Maybe he chose to ignore it. Hopefully. Copying his actions you frowned assuming you would wake from some sort of dream or fantasy. But no, this was real, this was now, this was Sherlock.

"Sherlock you have a visitor!" The sound of a woman in her elders called from the room next door.

"Show him in Mrs Hudson!" Sherlock turned his now excited face to yours with his grasp still wrapped tightly around you, either he was anticipating the man's arrival or he was genuinely keeping his arms there purposely, you dismissed the latter and stuck with the original thought before questioning the detective.

"Wait, so who's the visitor?"

"Our next client, (y/n)"

"Our?" You rose your brow in confusion.

"Yes (y/n) our next client, I do hope that you have been practising those deduction skills of yours"
