"And lastly, we will be doing portfolios that will be marked in the gymnasium by art teachers from other schools to help determine the final grade." Explains Sebastian, clasping his hands together behind his back and tugging on a smile. "I hope this better explained to you future students and parents what art will be looking like for sophomore year."
The people around him begin to disappear out the door, expressing their thanks and joining up with their children. Grabbing the remote from his desk, Sebastian turns off the projector, unplugging his laptop and closing it shut.
Footsteps surround his hearing, along with the opening of the door. Furrowing his brows in confusion, Sebastian turns on his heel, unsure of whether or not he had anymore students coming in. To his shock, and delight, familiar figures walk into the light, smiling.
"Ellie?" Questions Sebastian, mouth dropping open, still smiling. "Oh my god, look at you."
Ellie grins, throwing her arms around the male before her. "I haven't seen you in so long, Seb!" She exclaims, pulling away to look him over. "When I heard you were the art teacher, I knew I was in for some fun."
Laughing, Sebastian breaks away, drifting his eyes over to the other familiar figure. A much older, much stronger and the same old handsome Chris stands in front of him, perfectly trimmed beard and shining blue eyes. "Hey, Chris."
Smiling softly, Chris opens his arms and Sebastian walks into them with ease, melting into the hard chest. "Hey, Sebastian." Chris's chin rests gently atop Sebastian's head, breathing in his coconut shampoo.
"Sorry we're late," Ellie voices suddenly, walking around the room, hand brushing across the tables. "Chris here took forever to get ready."
"I did not." Argues Chris, pulling away to give the girl a shove, only for her to dodge it with ease.
Sebastian waves them off, smiling. "It's fine," he assures, rubbing his arm shyly. "I can always email the presentation to Lisa and you can look it over."
Ellie nods. "That sounds great. I just saw one of my friends, catch you next semester Sebastian!" Running out of the classroom, Ellie disappears off down the hall, leaving the two awkward males to stand beside one another, unsure of what to say.
"So.." Chris speaks first, gazing around the room, a fond smile on his lips, one Sebastian would be lying if he said he didn't miss it. "You're an art teacher."
Giggling, Sebastian nods his head. "Yeah, have been for the past two years."
Chris's eyes blow wide, impressed. "That's amazing, Sebastian."
"What about you?" Asks Sebastian, tilting his head cutely.
"Football still." Says Chris with a shrug, leaning against one of the many tables around the room. "But it pays well."
Sebastian smiles. "That's great, you were always an amazing player."
Conversation drifts slightly, from family, to relationships, to apartments and spear time. Turns out, Georgeta and Nathan decided to adopt a five year old girl called Angel, she was now almost thirteen. Sebastian moved out and got his own apartment, but never got into a relationship.
Questioning him, Sebastian shrugs. "I dunno, I just wanted to focus on myself is all." Clearing his throat, Sebastian turns to Chris. "What about you, why'd you break up with your girlfriend?"
"Because," says Chris, smiling. "She wasn't you."
A blush, deep and hot, ignites across Sebastian's cheeks and up his neck to the tips of his ears. Bowing his head shyly, Sebastian smiles, biting his lower lip. "Oh.."
Lifting Sebastian chin with the tip of his finger, Chris smiles softly. "I've missed you.. so much."
Looking up into Chris's eyes, Sebastian smiles. "I've missed you too."
"Can I..?"
Grabbing Chris by his shirt, Sebastian tugs him down, crashing their lips together. Chris melts into the kiss in an instant, wrapping his arms around Sebastian's waist. And when they break away, their foreheads fall together gently, breathing intermingled.
"I guess you were right." Breaths Chris.
Sebastian frowns. "What do you mean?"
"We weren't strong enough then. But I think we're strong enough now." To Sebastian's shock, Chris digs the same exact promise ring from all those years ago. "Do you?"
Smiling tearfully, Sebastian nods his head, lending his hand out. "I do."
Real love lasts forever. And the love Sebastian and Chris felt for one another would never die, no matter where they were. Their love would live on for centuries.
