I was at the table, playing Candy Crush 2 on my phone while sitting indian-style in my chair. Chase walked in with a bucket in his hand; He noticed me and moved over to me as I glance up from my game.

He leaned down and kissed me on the lips as I smile and look at the bucket. "What've you been up to anyway?" I ask curiously.

"I just reinforced all the windows with an impenetrable polymer I designed to keep the place safe from any threat." Chase answered, smiling at me. He placed the bucket down and now sat in the chair beside me, his arm lightly around the back of my chair.

"Oh yeah? Well... I just made myself a grilled cheese." Oliver spoke up.

"Yeah? Did you make me one?" I comment, really wanting a grilled cheese sandwich now.

Oliver glanced at his sandwich on his plate, then at me, then once more at his food, and then looked back at me. "No."

"And I asked you to make me one." I slightly pout.

"When did you ask me this?" Oliver questioned.

"Just now. Was you not listening?" I reply.

Skylar then walked into the room and over to us as well. "Mm. Something smells good." She grinned.

"Yup, that's my sandwich." Oliver commented proudly.

Skylar shook her head slightly and replied, "No, smells more like reinforced polymer."

"Oh, you." Oliver said while pointing his finger at Skylar as water shot out of his finger and sprayed the girl in front of him.

"Oliver!" She exclaimed as I lightly toss her a towel from the table. She caught it and wiped her face with it.

"I'm sorry, it was an accident. I'm still trying to get the hang of my powers." Oliver started.

Skylar looked at him and sarcastically remarked, "Oh, you poor thing. It must be hard for you."

"Skylar, that's not what I meant-" Oliver tried again.

"No, no, no, thank you once again for reminding me how you have powers and I don't." Skylar snapped and took his plate with his sandwich on it and was fixing to walk off but stopped beside the table. "Want one?" She asked me and I took one gratefully.

"Thank you, Sky." I comment as she smiled and walked out of the room.

"Alien chicks, am I right?" Oliver remarked towards Chase.

"You do know that I'm sort of like an alien also with me being from another world, right?" I point out.

"I do now." Oliver sheepishly replied.

I take a bite of my grilled cheese sandwich and was fixing to take another bite when Chase took my sandwich from me and took a huge bite of it. "Hey!" I pout.

My boyfriend simply smiled cheekily and handed it back to me, giving me another kiss. I continue to pout, though.

"I still don't get it. If Skylar was born a superhero, why doesn't she have any powers?" Chase asked us in confusion.

I look at my boyfriend once more and finish off what was left of the sandwich. Oliver answered his question, "She used to, but a human turned mutant named the Annihilator drained them out of her, put them on a shelf as a trophy." I nod in agreement.

"Okay, I'm sorry, but you two have to agree. That just sounds ridiculous." Chase commented. "Look, if Skylar is gonna be a part of this team, then I have to figure out a way to get her powers back."

"We will find a way to get her powers back." I correct him after standing up from my seat and made my way over to the counter and grabbed a cookie from the jar.

And I was about to eat it too, but then Oliver took my cookie from my hand and bit into it. "No, I have to be the one to get her powers back." The boy told us while I glare at him.

"You ate my cookie." I pouted.

"Why you?" Chase asked him as they briefly ignored my pouting.

"Because. She'll fall in love with me, then we get married, then we live our happy little superhero lives together forever in a space castle." Oliver answered.

"You know, in your funny yet creepy little world, I believe that could happen." Chase replied while winking over at me.

"We are not living in a space castle." I point out to my boyfriend who simply replied with an innocent grin, "I didn't say that we are or will." I only roll my eyes and focus my attention back at Oliver, continuing to glare at the boy.

"I've been trying to get her powers back for years. So far, no luck." Oliver added.

"Well, that's 'cause you didn't have Des's and my vast scientific knowledge to help you- and now you do." Chase pointed out. "We can give you all the credit, so she thinks that you're the hero."

"Even though you're just a cookie thief." I said after drinking his glass of milk on the counter discreetly and move back over to my boyfriend as he wrapped an arm around my waist.

"Thanks, guys, you're the best." Oliver started and saw his now empty cup. "Wait, who just drank my milk?"

"Now, we're even." I cheekily replied with a devious grin.

"Fine. One day, I'm gonna do something for you guys." Oliver said and pointed his finger at us; I step away a little just as water sprayed out of his finger and splashed onto Chase's face.

"You should start by getting him a towel." I point out in amusement with a laugh. Oliver ran to find a towel quickly as I make my way back over to Chase and reply in satisfaction, "Now, this is all karma."

Chase rolled his eyes but couldn't help but to also smile. He wrapped an arm around me again and kissed me just as Oliver ran back into the room and handed him a towel.

Chase and I was down in Mission Command, thinking of ways to get Skylar's powers back. We had also just finished setting everything up.

The hydralift opened as Oliver stepped out and walked over to us then. "Hey, how's it going down here?" He asked us curiously while smiling.

"I think we might be on to something." Chase started.

"If Skylar was born with powers like me, then the cells that created them are still inside of her body, they're just dormant." I finish, my hands on my hips.

"So if science applies, which who knows if it will since she's a-" Chase started while glancing over at me, "Let's just say what she is- a freak. We might be able to stimulate those dormant cells."

Oliver nodded in understanding. I had already moved back over to the table while starting. "Does Skylar have any weaknesses?" Chase questioned Oliver curiously while also moving back to my side and helping me.

"Nope. She's perfect. Although, she'd tell you that one of her knees is higher than the other, but I know that's not true. I measured them many times." Oliver replied.

I look up from our work and over at the boy weirdly. "Okay, I'm gonna repeat what I had told you a while back. You're an odd little boy." Oliver shrugged as I add, "And he meant physical weakness. All superheroes have them."

Oliver thought some before speaking up again, "There's a chemical in coal that's harmful to her and I've seen it- It ain't pretty. I couldn't even look at her knees." Oliver shook his head.

"Great. If we use coal to shock her immune system-" Chase began as I finish, "Then it should wake up the dormant cells."

"No, guys, you can't give Skylar coal. That's too dangerous." Oliver argued.

"In abundance, yes-" I start as Chase finished, "But a trace amount should wake up the cells without hurting her."

Oliver still looked a bit worried. "Do you trust me?" I ask him curiously.

"Yeah." Oliver answered and released a sigh as realization hit him, "Oh. I wish I had thought of that."

"Good news, you just did." I remark as Skylar walked into the room and Chase pushed Oliver towards her.

"Hey, Skylar, guess what?" Oliver started.

Skylar looked at him and replied, "Don't tell me, you just discovered another power. What now? Do you shoot torpedoes out of your nose?"

"No, I thought I could a few weeks ago, but it turned out it was just a sinus infection." Oliver commented as Skylar sighed. "Anyway, I, Oliver, have been with some of Chase's and Des's lab equipment and I, Oliver, and I, Oliver, think I found a way to restore your powers." Oliver continued.

Skylar grinned, "You did!?"

"Yes I, Oliver, did." Oliver also smiled.

"He did?" Skylar questioned both Chase and me.

"Yup, he, Oliver, really did. And we should know since we are the smartest people on Earth. We can come up with the fixes with everything." Chase answered.

"Except for this, but you know we could've- if we wanted to." I add.

"But they didn't." Oliver said.

"But we could have." Chase replied as Oliver commented once more, "But they didn't." Skylar smiled but also looked confused.

Chase and I went back to work on the serum as Skylar watched in excitement. "I can't believe this is really happening. I've waited so long to get my powers back." She stated happily.

"Well, my dear, your wait is over. The serum!" Oliver replied, the last part directed towards Chase and me.

"It's not ready." I say and mix a light blue liquid in the other bottle after pouring it in a different one.

"I'm sorry. My assistants informed me there will be a slight delay. Can I make you more comfortable? Would you like to put your feet up?" Oliver inquired.

"So you can measure my knees again? No thanks." Skylar remarked. I chuckle softly, the two of them not hearing me but Chase did as he glanced over at me and smiled; The two of us went back to work then.

"How exactly is the serum gonna work?" Skylar questioned.

Oliver looked over at Chase and me in question as I sigh and answer for him, using my voice manipulation ability and mimic Oliver's voice, "The serum will be injected, activating the cells, which are currently dormant but innately have superpowers."

While I was explaining in his voice, Chase and Oliver covered me so Skylar wouldn't see me doing the talking. Oliver had his back towards her and faced us but would glance at her from time to time through the brief explaining.

"Just trust me, Skylar, I know what I'm doing." Oliver said, fully looking at the girl now.

I smile in amusement and now held the big needle in my hands. "The serum is ready." Chase said as I hand him the needle as he showed it to Oliver.

"Whoa, that's a big needle. Don't you two have anything in chewable form?" Oliver replied, slightly pale.

"No, but if you want I can administer the injection." Chase offered as we approached Skylar who was sitting in the chair.

"No way, Frankenstein, this is my beautiful monster, you already have your own beautiful monster." Oliver said while snatching the needle from Chase and stood ready to inject Skylar.

I look halfway offended by that comment. He called me beautiful, but he also called me a monster. Oliver looked like he was going to faint and gave the needle back to Chase. "Yeah, it's all you." Oliver muttered.

Chase carefully put the needle in her neck, injecting the serum. "Okay, there you go." He took the needle out and stepped back over to me while wrapping an arm around my waist, pulling me close.

Skylar sighed and replied, "I don't feel anything."

"Oh, well, it will take some time to kick in. Right, Oliver?" I speak up, a small smirk towards the still woozy-looking boy.

He was bent over with a fist covering his mouth. Oliver straightened back up and looked at us. "I'm sorry, I'm a little woozy."

"Okay, Sky, sit back and relax." I comment as the girl did exactly what I suggested her to do. "And the medical software will wirelessly monitor your vitals."

"Yes, and you'll have your powers back in a matter of minutes-" Oliver began as I muttered, "Hours." He corrected himself quickly, "Hours!"

I shake my head unamused at him and leaned my face on Chase's shoulder as Chase smiled at me.

I had fell asleep on the couch, my black gauntlets clearly worn around my wrists; I have two kinds of gauntlets.

One pair are for missions and to enhance, amplify, my earth ability, and the other pair, is simply to help slow the vibrations through my wrist and hands and to help heal the broken or fractured bones.

Chase entered the living room and moved over to me, shaking my arms as I immediately wake up since I wasn't in a deep sleep to begin with.

His eyes landed on the gauntlets around my wrists for a second and smiled at me. "You coming?"

"Obviously." I reply, already standing up as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders and we found Oliver and then the three of us headed down to the basement which was the Mission Command room.

"Look what your hero got you. Flowers for your new superpowers." Oliver said, a bouquet of flowers in hand as we approach Skylar.

Skylar turned around and had black veins on her face as we jump and scream a little; Chase had me in his arms and Skylar was looking at the three of us in confusion. "What's wrong?" She asked.

"Uh... nothing. You're just shockingly beautiful." Oliver started as Chase and I nod, also faking smiles. "So beautiful I have to look away." Oliver then turned and looked away.

"None of my powers have kicked in yet." Skylar admitted a little disappointed. "I don't think the serum did anything."

"Uh, it did something." I remark as Chase held my hand and took me to where Oliver was standing at.

"This is bad." Chase started.

"Yeah, I mean, it'll be a little weird, being the good-looking one in a relationship, but I'll get use to it." Oliver replied.

I smack his arm as I stood beside him, in between him and Chase. "We're serious. Her body is rejecting the serum."

"The coal must be deteriorating her organs from the inside out." Chase added.

"So, are you two telling me, we just..." Oliver slowly began.

"Killed her." Chase finished quietly as I anxiously rub my thumb across my palm on my other hand idly.

Chase and I begin to work on an antidote for the serum we had injected her with.

I can't lose her- She's grown to be like a sister to me and one of my best friends. I can't lose any of them. I don't want to lose any more of what little family I have left. The team- They're what I have left.

Chase looked over at me and moved his hand over mine, squeezing it in reassurance, as if knowing what was running through my mind at the moment. I nod a little and we get back to working on trying to make an antidote.

"Something's wrong, Oliver. I don't feel good." Skylar commented while rubbing the back of her neck.

"Why haven't you two found the antidote yet!? You two are supposed to be perfect!" Oliver yelled in a whispered tone at Chase and me.

Chase placed his beaker down and looked over at him as did I with me starting in annoyance, "You know what really helps in a high-pressure situation?"

"You interrupting us every five seconds to ask why we haven't found the antidote yet." Chase finished also in annoyance.

"Sorry." Oliver replied as Chase and I went back to work as Oliver added, "But have you?" I slowly glared at him as Oliver quickly stepped back and sighed while letting out, "I knew we shouldn't have given her coal."

"You gave me coal!?" Skylar repeated in disbelief as the three of us exchanged a cautious look and glanced back at the girl.

"Coal? Is that what you heard? That would be crazy. Why would I inject you with your one true, very lethal weakness?" Oliver stammered, letting out a sigh and pointed at both Chase and me. "They did it!"

"Okay, yes, we were the ones who suggested shocking your system with coal-" Chase started.

"But we also said that you should never mix superpowers with science." I finish.

Oliver looked at me in confusion and disbelief. "When did you say that!?"

"Just now, keep up." Chase and I answer in unison. Skylar then coughed as black dust came out of her mouth.

"Skylar?" I start while fixing to approach her just as Chase gently held my wrist. "Chase, we must've gave her too much. Her body's not only rejecting it but expelling it as a vapor." I look at the boys again.

"Is it dangerous?" Oliver questioned. We glance over at Skylar as she coughed some more, destroying the flowers completely.

"Only to living things." Chase commented.

***

Chase and I put up both of our force fields around Skylar as she sat in the chair again and coughed some more. "I'm so sorry, Sky." I whisper to the girl sadly after Chase had moved over to Oliver.

"It's okay, you was just trying to help me get my powers back." Skylar murmured and weakly smiled. She started coughing again as the doubled force fields started cracking.

"Guys, we have a problem." I say while moving over to my boyfriend and Oliver.

"I thought you said your force fields were impenetrable!?" Oliver replied.

"They are! They are able to withstand lasers, bullets, even atomic explosions, not alien freak gas!" Chase commented.

"I told you two this was gonna happen!" Oliver exclaimed.

"What!? When did you say that!?" Chase replied.

"Just now, keep up!" Oliver said.

"If that gas escapes and goes into the building, it'll probably kill everyone." I point out.

"That's thousands of people." Oliver replied.

"I think you know what has to be done." Chase said and picked up the sonic deatomizer. I slowly shook my head and stepped back slightly.

"You're holding an electric toothbrush, I got nothing." Oliver said.

"No, this is a sonic deatomizer. It'll stop the vapor at its source, sending a lethal blast of energy through her body." Chase explained.

"Lethal!?" Oliver repeated.

"The only way to stop the virus from spreading is to destroy Skylar." Chase added while I shake my head again.

"No, no way!" I argue as Oliver snatched the needle out of Chase's hands after they fought over it.

"I'm not letting you destroy her. That girl means everything to me- like Des means everything to you. She's the reason I wake up in the morning." Oliver replied, "I can't imagine my life without her."

Skylar started coughing more and more just as the force fields faded completely. "The gas is coming out!" Chase exclaimed and now held me in his arms again.

"I'm taking that space witch down!" Oliver announced.

"No, don't!" I reply as he approached Skylar just as she shot him with one of her powers. Oliver flew across the room and crashed with a thud.

Skylar fell down and I rush over to her side, kneeling next to her.

Her heart stopped as I shake my head slightly and move my clasped hands over her chest, palms facing her heart. I combine my earth and electricity abilities, jumpstarting her heart again.

Skylar's eyes fluttered opened as she gasped. "You're okay!" I mutter in relief.

"I'm not. That's cool, focus on her." Oliver groaned.

"And you just used one of your powers." Chase pointed out as he and I helped Skylar to her feet.

"I did? I did!" Skylar laughed and grinned and turned to look at me, "And you saved my life." She smiled in thanks as I nod a little.

"I guess all that vapor was part of the healing process." Chase commented.

"So the serum worked." Oliver smiled.

"It totally did, and it's all because of..." Skylar replied and looked over at Chase and me, "Des and Chase." She hugged both of us as we hug her back.

"Them? What about me?" Oliver inquired.

"You were about to destroy me." Skylar pointed out.

"What? Pfft, I would never." Oliver replied while placing the needle down and then ran away with Skylar chasing after him. I look at Chase and grinned as he did
