I walk into the penthouse with Bree, Skylar, Kaz, and Oliver; We were in our mission suits and had just got back from a mission.
"What's going on?" Chase curiously asked while approaching us and noticed us in our suits.
The five of us finished putting our stuff away as I answer for everyone, "We just got back from the mission."
"You went without me?" Chase questioned in disbelief.
"Well, we had to. You weren't answering your phone. Where were you anyway?" I reply while sliding my hood off of my head.
"Perry and I was stuck downstairs." Chase sighed.
What is she doing here!?" Bree demanded while gesturing to the woman behind Chase. Perry looked offended at that statement as Bree corrected herself, "Sorry. I didn't mean to say that." Bree looked at Chase and added, "What is it doing here!?"
I stifle back my laughter just as Kaz walked up and now stood on my other side. Kaz spoke up, "Chase, this must be your mom. The resemblance is uncanny."
Kaz grinned while I cringe a little, shuddering a bit at that thought. "Please, if my kid came out looking like that, I'd have put the robot parts on the outside." Perry commented.
Oliver then walked back over to us and introduced himself, "Well, I'm Oliver and this is Kaz." He gestured to Kaz by his side.
"Glen and Paul. Got it." Perry simply replied with a nod.
"I'm Skylar." Skylar also introduced herself while stepping over to us as well.
Perry looked at the girl and gasped loudly. "I know who you are. Donny told me that the robots would be teaming up with superheroes. I can't believe I'm in the presence of a real heroine." The woman admired.
"Um, hello. You never acted that impressed around me." Bree commented.
"Uh, that's 'cause she's a comic book hero come to life and you're a man made dolly." Perry replied, making a mechanical noise and then made a super speed move.
I shook my head slightly in disbelief, folding my arms across my chest. "You do remember that I'm also a superhero, right?"
Perry looked me up and down, shrugging a bit. "I remember, and yes, I have read the Quake comic books. But, you're not a true superhero like Skylar Storm- You're basically just a rogue super."
"Hey, Des is more than that-" The team all started in defense until I stopped them with a shake of my head.
"Can we please get back to the mission? How bad was it?" Chase inquired, moving his hand over to mine and intertwined them perfectly.
"Actually, it was a complete success." Oliver answered.
"Yeah, Skylar and Des both had a really great idea and stepped up as mission leaders." Bree added.
"Okay, Des I get, but her?" Chase repeated in slight disbelief while pointing over at Skylar who looked a bit offended.
"Yes, me. Who do you think it would be? Oliver?" Skylar answered as Oliver now looked offended as she added, "No offense." Oliver looked un-offended now.
"Yeah, Des and Skylar worked really well together as leaders and were in unison. They had me use my fire ability to seal the cracks on the floor." Kaz said.
"Then I used my super strength to keep the floor stable while Des used her earth ability to keep the building stable and Skylar and Bree rushed everyone to safety." Oliver added.
"And everyone made it out alive?" Chase asked, looking at each of us as we nodded.
"Well, one guy twisted his ankle." Kaz pointed out.
"That's okay. I was able to walk it off." Oliver replied.
"I thought you guys did great out there. You should be proud." Skylar commented as I nod in agreement.
"Thanks, but we should really be proud of you and Des." Oliver said, walking up to Skylar and glanced at me. "Mission leaders."
"Hey, mission leaders!" They patted Skylar and me on our shoulders and dispersed to go and do whatever they want.
I face my boyfriend who was looking over at a retreating Skylar going upstairs. "Chase." He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows. "Don't do that. You're still important to the team. Let this go."
Chase looked down, his shoulders slumped. "How can I when you and Skylar are taking my job?"
I let out an almost inaudible sigh and place both hands on each of his shoulders, making him look at me. "We're not taking your job. We needed a plan to save them on the mission today." I release his shoulders then.
"How do you do it?" He asked quietly.
"Do what?" I answer in confusion and in curiosity.
"Be selfless."
I shrug lightly. "Because I don't want to be selfish... I just don't want to have people badly affected by my selfish actions and consequences. It just seems like whenever I try to think of myself... Someone close to me, they get hurt- or worse..." I murmur softly.
Chase moved his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his embrace as I wrap my arms around his waist. "And you're not just a rogue super. You are a genuine superhero." He replied lightly, kissing the top of my head reassuringly.
"Maybe." I mumble, closing my eyes and released another sigh.

Bree and I was talking and heading to the kitchen to get some orange juice. "Hey, Des?" She began curiously at the cabinets while I stood at the now opened refrigerator, a carton of orange juice in my hand.
"Yeah?" I say while glancing over at the speedster who was slightly gesturing to the empty cabinet where the cups were supposed to be at.
"Where are all of the cups at?" She asked curiously.
"I'm gonna guess Kaz and Oliver." I answer, placing the carton of orange juice back into the refrigerator and closed the door.
The two of us headed towards the balcony in search of the two boys we were currently looking for to interrogate. We noticed them then. "Hey, where are all the cups?" Bree questioned the two of them.
Oliver and Kaz glanced over at us just as I notice the cups stacked and was built sort of like a tower. "Why?" I curiously ask them.
"It's this new game we invented called Topple the Tower." Kaz explained and looked back at the stacked cups, "You pull one item out and try to put it back on top without knocking the whole thing over."
"Well, when will you be done?" Bree asked in slight annoyance.
"Could be a couple of minutes, could be a couple of days." Oliver shrugged.
"Alright, there has gotta be a vacant apartment somewhere in this building." Bree replied and looked over at me while pointing at me, "And you and Skylar are living with me. I don't care if you miss Chase or not."
I grin but shake my head in amusement as she walked away. I move over to the two boys, looking at the stacked cups and started to near one carefully. Then footsteps sounded behind us.
"Hey, Kaz, ready to work on that fire steam power with me?" Chase inquired.
"Yeah, Skylar and Des already helped me out with that. Since Des has the ability of fire, she was really able to help me more." Kaz answered.
I was about to take a cup from the tower until Chase demanded, "What!?" I jump a little, readying my hands and fingers back at the cup.
"Chase, can you flip out somewhere else? Your frustration's always amusing, but it could knock the tower over." Oliver replied while gesturing to the tower as I take one of the cups slowly.
"Hey, guys." Skylar said while walking onto the balcony also.
"What do you think you're doing?" Chase questioned her. "First, you act like mission leader, now you're helping Des train Kaz?"
"The team needed someone to lead, so Des and I did. And Des wanted my help in helping Kaz, so I helped." Skylar simply answered.
"Des, Kaz!" Chase exclaimed at the two of us just as I was reaching for another cup.
"Wait a sec." Kaz and I both reply just as I finally remove the cup from the tower and then both of us looked over at my boyfriend. "Okay, go ahead."
Chase looked at me in question, "Why did you ask Skylar to help you train Kaz when you had already asked me?"
"I don't know. Skylar and I made a great duo leading the mission earlier and I just figured she would be great at that, too. I was right." I simply reply, placing the cup on the very top of the tower.
"Skylar, may I have a word?" Chase questioned as both of them walked inside of the building.
"We need something more challenging than these cups." Kaz started.
I snap my fingers and grinned, "What if we took everything this time and stack it into a tower?"
"Uh, yes!" Kaz and Oliver agreed, high-fiving me and the three of us jogged inside and gather appliances and met back on the balcony.
After about ten minutes, we finally made the new tower. Bree stepped onto the balcony and sighed. "You guys seen the toaster?"
"Yes, it's up there." Oliver answered while gesturing to the very top of the tower of appliances to reveal the toaster.
"I'd tell you to wait for it, but it's probably gonna break when the tower falls... So just buy a new one." Kaz added.
I step toward the stacked appliances and move my hand above me, using my molecularkinesis/telekinesis to make the toaster lift up into the air and lower back down to us. "Here you go, girlie." I move the now floating toaster into the speedster's hands and drop my hand back down to my side.
"Thanks, Des." Bree smiled.
Chase then ran onto the balcony in his mission suit. "Guys, there's another mission alert. A truck carrying toxic chemicals overturned in the Rogers Tunnel. It caused an explosion and hundreds of people are trapped inside."
"Let's go." I comment as we run inside the penthouse and then stop, realizing that we're missing a team member. "Wait. Where's Skylar?"
"I don't know." Chase answered while looking over at me.
"Without her, who's gonna help Des lead us?" Oliver inquired.
"I am!" Chase replied irritated.
"Really? Do you think that's a wise decision?" Oliver asked as Chase rolled his eyes.
"Chase can do it. I believe in him." I answer with a nod in confirmation as Chase smiled a little, calming down some.
"Just go get your mission suits and head out. I'll go find Skylar and meet you there." Chase replied.
The three other team members left to go change while I look at my boyfriend, one eyebrow arched. "You're not gonna do something stupid, right?" I moved one hand on his chest over his heart.
Chase softly chuckled and kissed my forehead. I pull away and left to go put on my mission suit.

Bree, Kaz, Oliver, and I raced into the tunnel and saw that smoke was everywhere. A couple of people began to come out and ran away. "Keep going- We'll get the others." I instruct the three people as they continue to run out of the Rogers Tunnel.
"Okay, guys, this is it." Bree added.
I smirk at Kaz who grinned, exchanging a look with me. He pressed a button on his phone as music sounded. Bree faced him and replied, "No!" Kaz stopped it as both of us pouted a bit.
"There's smoke everywhere." Oliver pointed out.
"Way to state the obvious, Captain Obvious." I remark sarcastically, my hands on my hips.
"Why do you-?" Oliver began as I cut him off and smirk at the boy, "It's called sarcasm. Look it up."
Rumbling sounded a few feet from us then as I turn serious again. "Guys, we have to get those people out of there now. Alright, the truck crumbled the wall, blocking the exit. The only way to get the people out is to bring them back through the smoke."
"I'm here!" Chase announced while sprinting over to the four of us as we look at him.
"Where's Skylar?" Oliver asked.
Chase shrugged and answered, "I don't know. I tried calling her, but she didn't respond. I couldn't wait around all day 'cause I've got a team to lead."
"Well, should we maybe, like, try her again?" Kaz questioned.
"Guys, the smoke is getting thicker. If we don't put it out soon, this whole tunnel's gonna be a toxic cloud." Bree spoke up.
"Okay, I'll do a scan to locate the people who are trapped." Chase began and stepped over to me, now standing beside me. "Oliver, use your cryoblast to extinguish the fire. Bree, use your super speed to form a cyclone, and Des, use your air manipulation ability to help clear the smoke. Kaz, you fly in and evacuate people. Any questions?"
Oliver raised his hand halfway and spoke up, "Yeah. Do you think I should try calling Skylar? She's probably not answering because it's you." He looked at Chase.
"Just go!" Chase replied as we all ran and did what he had instructed us to do.
Once we did our jobs and everyone was cleared out of the tunnel, I speak up, "Okay, that's everyone."
"Great work, team. We got everybody out in a safe and timely fashion. As while that should be reward enough, let me throw this little cherry on top." Chase replied and grinned, "Thank you."
"No worries." Oliver said.
"Cool." Kaz added.
Chase's smile faded as he commented, "That's it? No 'thank you, Chase, for your brilliant leadership'?" He looked at us in question.
"You're the best." Kaz muttered.
"Thank you very much." Oliver added in the same tone as Kaz.
"Hey, Chase is a great leader. Okay, he's worked long and hard at it." I pout out as Chase looked at me and smiled.
"Thank you, Des." Chase nodded.
"Yeah, it's not his fault that Skylar and Des just rolled out of bed and became great ones immediately." Bree remarked.
"Okay, you know what? I'm taking back my cherry." Chase mumbled just as I heard a loud rumbling.
And with my earth ability, I can feel the vibrations of the rumbling more than the team can. "The ceiling's cracking. The whole place is gonna come down." I warn the team.
"We have got to get out of here!" Chase added just as we heard footsteps echoing from the big vent on the wall on the side.
"Wait. There's still people in there." Oliver replied.
"I'll go get them-" Chase started as I stop him and add, "I'm coming with you." He nodded once and we ran and noticed Skylar and Perry exiting the vent.
"Skylar? How did you get out-?" Chase began as I look at him with narrowed eyes. "I mean... Where were you?"
"We were stuck in mission command. We had to escape through the underground tunnels." Skylar answered.
"Well, what is she doing here?" I ask while looking over at Perry.
"Skylar and I are besties now. Deal with it." Perry answered.
Then rumbling sounded again as I squeeze my eyes shut and reopen them, the vibrations louder than before. "The tunnel's coming down!" Bree exclaimed.
I notice rocks coming down just as I shove Chase over towards Skylar and Perry as he covered them. The rocks fell as I thrust my hands out above me and use my earth ability to stop them from falling and crashing down on me.
I grunt a little and then dive out of the way just as the rocks fell, blocking us from leaving out of the tunnel and separating us from Bree, Kaz, and Oliver.
Chase immediately ran over to me and helped me to my feet, his arm wrapped around the small of my back with his hand on my side. "You okay?"
There was a small, deep gash on my cheekbone from a little sharp piece of rock that flew from the pile and had cut me when I had dove away. "Yeah, I'm okay." I reply.
Chase moved his other hand and cupped the side of my jaw, making me look at him. He looked at the cut. "That's probably gonna need at least two or three stitches." He pointed out.
Skylar stepped over to the pile of rocks and spoke up, "Don't worry, I'll blast us out."
Chase reluctantly let me go and stepped forward, stopping her. "No, it isn't stable. The only thing preventing this tunnel from collapsing is this pile. Blasting us out is a terrible idea... Mission leader."
"Well, what do you suggest?" Skylar asked.
"I'll put my force shield around us. That'll protect us when it collapses around us." Chase answered.
"And leave us trapped in even more of a bigger pile of rubble-" Skylar began as I finish in agreement, "Not to mention, it would crush the rest of the team."
"Stop arguing and focus on what's important. Saving me!" Perry spoke up.
"Don't worry, we're all gonna get out of here." Skylar and I assure the woman.
"Give her false hope, that's a great solution." Chase scoffed.
"It's not false hope-" I start.
"I trust our team and I know that they'll rescue us." Skylar finished.
"How!?" Chase demanded.
"They're smart. They'll figure it out." I assure him while also moving back over to the wall.
"No they aren't, no they won't." Perry disagreed, shaking her head quickly.
I roll my eyes and lightly move both of my palms over two large rocks, closing my eyes and actually feel the vibrations and molecular structures. I open my eyes as my hands begin to phase through the rocks; I pull back and stagger backwards.
"I won't be able to phase through this wall- It's too thick and with pulling three people through it, it won't work out too well." I comment, my hands now on my hips as I look at the three of them.
"I feel horrible, Des, Chase. You two wouldn't even be stuck here if you weren't trying to save our lives." Skylar replied.
Chase looked over at the girl while I still was trying to think of a way out of here. "Don't feel that bad. He's the one that locked you in mission command." Perry said.
I stop in my tracks and finally face them again, looking over at Perry and then at Chase. "What!?" Skylar and I start in unison, "What is she talking about?"
Chase scoffed, "Yeah. What are you talking about?" He looked at the woman.
"You purposely locked her in so that you could go on a mission without her and be leader again." Perry further explained.
We look at Chase again as I step forward. "Is that true?" I begin.
Chase scoffed again, "Come on, you're gonna believe a chronic liar?"
"I resent you calling me a liar- and so would my nephew Abraham Lincoln." Perry answered.
I move over to Chase, right in front of him, "I'm gonna ask you one more time, Chase. Is it true?"
He looked from me to Skylar and back at me with a light sigh. "Yes, it's true." Chase glanced over at Perry and asked, "What, did you watch the security camera?"
"Nah, I just thought. What would I do if I was Chase and was threatened by an amazing, vastly superior superhero? Guess we're not different after all. You really could be my son." Perry explained.
I held Skylar's shoulder reassuringly as she glanced down at the ground. "Look. I'm sorry, okay? I was afraid you were gonna take my job." Chase began.
"I told you the only reason why I stepped in was because the team needed me. I never wanted to be mission leader- like Des." Skylar said, looking up and over at him.
"Yeah, but you two could be. You're really good at it. When I saw how the team responded to you, I- I just panicked." Chase admitted, walking over to where the rocks were at.
"It's just a title, Chase." I reply.
He looked over at me and shook his head slightly.
