Myself, Legolas and Aragon sit upon the hillside where we chat amongst ourselves.
"Aragon" I say softly as I turn to face him "I have seen something that I believe you must know" I continue.
He turns to face me as he listens intently, placing his hand on mine.
"What did you see?" He asks.
"It's about Arw..." I begun to speak but before I could finish all of our gazes were averted to flame that grew in the distance.
We turn to look at eachother, realising what this meant. We scrambled to our feet and ran towards the great hall.
Aragon is in front of us as he enters the hall first bursting the doors open.
"The beacons of Minas Tirith! The beacons are lit! He yells.
The room falls silent as we continue to run toward the king.
"Gondor calls for aid!"
Theoden hesitates for a moment, coming to terms with what Aragon had just said.
"And Rohan shall answer" Theoden says proudly. "Muster the Rohirrim!" He continues.
I watch as Eomer bows to him as heads out to gather the men. The bell begins to ring out, notifying all the soldiers.
"We should take our leave" I say as I turn to look at My companions (Legolas, aragon and Gimli). "I will be in the stables".
As I leave the room, I overhear Legolas and Aragon talking about me. I hover around the door as I listen in.
"I did not think an elf so sincere would ever love" Aragon says jokingly to Legolas.
"Nor did I.." he replies, a smile evident in his voice "I did not even sense her coming".
" I am happy for you" Aragon says, clapping Legolas on the shoulder.
The conversation falls silent and footsteps sound toward the door. My eyes widen and I begin to run at full speed down to the stables for I did not want to be caught listening in.
I quickly grab the saddle and throw it across Hasufel, tightening the straps and attaching any gear we should need.
After all my rushing, I began to forget why I was in such a panic after all when I feel a presence behind me. A hand appears, pulling my hair back, revealing my neck and side of my face.
"I know you were listening" Legolas whispers into my ear causing shivers to cascade down my spine.
"You know to me too well" I reply softly as I turn to face him.
He wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me into a kiss as we both laugh intently.
"Oh could you two stop! You're causing the very stomach of me to feel sick" Gimli bellows, clearly with slight humour to his voice.
Me and Legolas turn to look at him, smirking slightly when we are now joined by Aragon.
"Gimli! You ride with me" Aragon states as Gimli makes his way over to him, slowly mounting the horse.
Legolas gets onto Hasufel, stretching his hand out to me. I take it gladly, pulling myself up onto the back.
We all ride out into the city where the Rohirrim gather, sat upon their many horses.
"Horse men!" Gimli says huffing. " I wish I could muster an army of dwarves, fully armed and flighty" as he now looks around at the men that surround him.
"Your kinsmen May have no need to ride to war. I fear war already marches on their own lands" Legolas replies, causing Gimli to fall silent.
"Now is the hour, riders of Rohan. Oaths you have taken. Now fulfil them all, to lord and land!" Eomer announces, signalling for everyone to move out as he begins to lead the way out of the city and onto our route toward Minas Tirith.
We continuously ride for now a few hours have passed to eventually arrive at a camp where other soldiers from distance cities join us. Friends of Theodens that he has called upon to join him in battle.
"Make way for the King" one of the soldiers shouts as we enter the camp.
Eventually, we come to a stop near to where Theodens tent has been set up for the night.
"I've had my soldiers prepare tents for you four also, you may rest near to where I stay" Theoden explains as he dismounts his horse, now walking toward the mountain edge. Aragon follows him.
Legolas helps me down from on top of the horse as we observe our surroundings. Thousands of tents laid sprawled out across the large plains, there wasn't much chatter amongst the men as they feared for what they were up against.
I began to feel uneasy as I grabbed Legolas's arm before falling into a vision.
* nothing but darkness appeared and a soft whispering from what sounded like a woman. She was whispering my name until it started to become louder. The darkness faded and it moved into a memory from when I was a child.
I was back in Rivendell. It was quiet and somber and I was watching my father and mother walk silently together along the bridge over the river until they disappeared behind some trees. I began moving my head to try and see but nothing. Screams began to sound from my mother and yells from my father, as they seemingly were struggling with something..or against something.
A while passed and it fell silent again. When my father appeared from out behind the trees, sobbing harshly, he fell to his knees As I watched the people of Rivendell run to his aid, escorting him inside.
"Orcs" he exclaimed.. "orcs!".
His face was pale and quite clearly in shock as he looked up to me, realising I had witnessed what had happened.
And my vision began to fade*
I open my eyes and Legolas stands in front of me, holding both of my arms. His eyebrows were furrowed as he watched me intently.
"What did you see?" He asked softly
"I'm not sure. I think a memory that I had forgotten from when I was younger. It showed my mother and father walking peacefully in eachothers company but screams began to sound from behind the trees.
As much as I tried to look, I could not see and my father returned from the other side, this time without my mother. He was in great despair." I explained as tears started to fill my eyes.
Legolas pulled me into an embrace as he held the back of my head close.
"My father said something about orcs, he tried to explain but nobody would listen" I continued, thinking back to the vision I had just had, slowly pulling away from Legolas.
He immediately looks down to my brooch that Galadriel had gave me. He stares at his quizzically.
"What is it?" I say as I too look down at it.
It begins to glow, getting brighter and brighter gradually.
"What does this mean?" Legolas asks looking up at me.
" I believe my mother is trying to contact me" I whisper as I continue to stare down at it. I run my fingers across it and the glow begins to fade.
"There is something she wants me to know" I explain. "But I do not know what".
Suddenly a horse next to us begins frantically neighing. I turn to look at it as it bucks up and down uncomfortably.
"The horses are restless" Legolas states.
"They grow nervous in the shadow of the mountain" Eomer says who stands with his horse across from us.
"That road...where does it lead?" Gimli asks curiously as we all begin to look towards the path.
"It is the road to the Dimholt, the door under the mountains" I explain.
"None who venture there ever return. That mountain is evil." Eomer says sternly.
I feel my gaze grow deeper and deeper within the mountain as a whispering begins sounding in my head. The same woman from within my vision, repeats my name over and and over again until Gimli breaks my attention away from the moment.
"Let's go get some food" Gimli says pulling my arm.
I slowly turn around as I join arms with Legolas to walk to where the food hall is.
A few hours pass and night had now fallen. I sit inside my tent with Legolas by my side as we talk with one another.
"It is a strange sensation that I had not sensed you coming" Legolas says softly as he begins to hold my hand.
"Why is that so strange? The best things come unexpectedly" I reply jokingly.
Legolas smirks slightly.
"You took me by surprise" he continues. " you should know that I will follow you wherever you go".
I turn to look at him and smile, slowly leaning in for a kiss when we are interrupted by a guard.
"My lady..king Theoden awaits you". He intructs.
I let out a sigh as I pull away from Legolas and get to my feet.
"Wait here" I tell him before leaving the tent and walking over to where King Theoden awaited me.
As I entered, Aragon was there too as well as cloaked man who sat down facing away from us.
"I shall take my leave" Theoden says as he exits the tent.
Me and Aragon exchanged confused looks as we turn back to the cloaked man who begins to rise to his feet. He brings down his hood to reveal his face.
Only to find that it is my father, Lord Elrond.
Without hesitation I lunge myself forward, throwing my arms around him, putting him into a longing embrace. The moment lasts a while before we slowly begin to pull away.
"My dear child" he says softly as he lay a hand upon my face.
"Why are you here?" I question contently as my father raises his eyes to look at Aragon.
"I come on behalf of those whom I love" My father begins to say as Legolas bursts into the tent.
We all turn to look at him as he realises my father standing there.
"Forgive me" he says, bowing his head to my father.
"Ah yes" my father chuckles slightly, looking to me. "I suppose it is only right if you are present to Legolas".
He turns to look at both of them as he continues with what he was going to say originally.
"Arwen and Eline are dying..." he says as both Aragon and Legolas's eyes fill with worry.
"They will not long survive the evil that now spreads from Mordor. The light of the Even and Riven star is failing. As Saurons power grows their strength wanes. Arwen and Elines life are now tied to the fate of the ring. The shadow is upon us Aragon. The end has come."
My mouth drops open slightly as I turn to look to Legolas who seems disheartened by what my father had said.
"It will not be our end but his" Aragon replies sternly.
"You ride to war but not to victory" my father says mockingly.
"Saurons armies ride on Minas Tirith, this you know. But in secret he send another force, which will attack from the river - a fleet of Corsair ships sails from the south. They will be in the city in two days. You're outnumbered Aragon. You need more men".
He explains.
"There are none" Aragon states.
I furrow my eyebrows and turn to look at my father as everybody falls silent, I see a glint appear in his eye as I begin to realise what we must do.
"There are those who dwell in the mountain" I say breaking the silence.
"Murderers...traitors. You would call upon them to fight? They believe in nothing. They answer to no one" Aragon replies to me as my father quickly interrupts.
"They will answer to the king of Gondor" my father exclaims as he pulls a sword from inside his cloak and holds it out in his hands to Aragon.
My eyes widen as I come to realise that my father had the sword reforged.
"Andthril, the flame of the west, forged from the shards of Narsil" I gasp, looking upon the sword.
"The blade that was broken shall return to Minas Tirith" Aragon whispers as he pulls the blade out from within the casing, holding in high into the air.
"The man who can wield this sword can summon to him an army more deadly than any that walks this earth.
Put aside the ranger. Become who you were born to be" my father explains to Aragon who no understands what he must do.
The room falls silent again as my father now turns to look at me.
"As for you my child, you already know that when the time is most dire you will be at your weakest. It is your job to see this through and hold out for as long as you can." He explains as Aragon leaves the room, taking Legolas with him.
"I will not fail you and Arwen" I reply softly "I have other company now" I continue, beginning to smile as I speak about Legolas.
"I haven't seen you smile like this in a long time" he replies, stroking my hair behind my ear. "I am sorry that I kept you away for so long. It was very selfish of me"
"Do not despair now for I am where I am meant to be." I reassure him as I begin to think back to earlier.
"What is it?" He questions
"I saw something earlier, a mere memory of some sort. You and mother walking through the trees when screams suddenly appeared from behind them, only for you to return out the other side and she was no longer beside you." I explained, recalling each moment that had happened within vision. As my father listens to me, he falls back slightly, taking in what I had told him.
"She was taken by Orcs" he said before trailing off...
"But why?. Father, you must tell me!" I ordered"
"Your mother possessed a power that Sauron greatly craved. For many years he hunted her and I did all I could to keep our family safe. I hid you all from any lurking eyes until one day they crept through the shadows, capturing your mother and taking her captive. I did everything I could to stop them but I was alone and helpless.
I searched for your mother, for years and years. I even tried to look into her future but I saw nothing.. that gave me no other choice than to believe that she was dead."
My father explained as his eyes filled with tears.
"Why did you never speak of this before?" I asked him with a heavy heart, placing my hand into his to console him.
"Because the last thing I wanted was for you to become curious and leave to go searching for answers." He stated.
My eyebrows furrowed as he said this.
" i have been seeing things, hearing whispers in my head. She is speaking to me, I can feel her". I explain intently.
"The hope for your mother was lost decades ago."
"But-" I begin to say but my father interrupts.
"Go Eline, you're running out of time." He instructs, as he places a hand on my shoulder "Legolas needs you... your companions need you".
I gently nod my head at him before slowly turning away and exiting the tent.
I walk over to Legolas who stands preparing Hasufel to leave, without a word I mount the horse and remain silent as I sit upon the top.
"What is it Eline?" Legolas says softly as he comes to my side, looking up at me.
" It is my father.. I tried to explain what I had been seeing but he would not bear to listen to any of it. He does not want to hear a word uttered about my mother but I cannot help but feel like there is something that I'm missing and I can assure that I will find out what it is." I reply sternly.
"Then I will do what I can to aid you" Legolas comforts me.
I turn to smile at him lightly.
"Forgive me for being so hasty" I say as I look down disheartened.
"You need not apologise for I can understand your irritation." Legolas replies as he too mounts the horse.
We are now joined by Aragon and Gimli.
" I will not let anything happen to you Eline." Aragon reassures me as we being to ride toward the direction of the mountain.
The men stare wistfully at us as we leave on the eve of battle. All of them with the same confused look.
"Lord Aragon?" One of the men shouts as we disappear into the shadows of the mountains.
We Fall deeper into the darkness as yet again I hear the soft whispers from the voice of the woman.
*could this be my mothers voice I can hear?* I thought.
*Was this her trying to contact me?*

Thankyou to all the people that have been reading along with Elines journey and her love story with Legolas . Really hope you're enjoying it!!
Also just wanted to put a DISCLAIMER here that I made some changes to chapter 5.
I forgot to mention that Galadriel and Celeborn are Elines grandparents so ive added a few different bits.
Also I just want to remind everyone that it is a fan fiction and things will be made up, so somethings may not follow the story completely as it's my own made up tale... ☺️☺️
