The Fourth Fandom Commandment

| Thou Are Not Automatically a Fan |

Just because you like a band, book, series, movie, or actor, does not mean you are automatically a part of the fandom. Ask yourself these questions:

- Do certain fandom-related words hold a meaning to me? (Always, Promise, Chonce, etc.)- Could I describe a character/person in one word?
- Do I own any merchandise? (posters, key chains, even phone wallpapers)- Do I have any knowledge about their background? (hometown, parents' names, middle names, etc.)
- Would I pay to see them in person/real life?
- Do I connect with any of the characters?
- Could I make at least one fandom-related joke?
- Do I know their hometowns and middle names, if they were ever mentioned?
- Would I ever name a child, or even a pet, after a character or ship?

If the answer to any of these was no, you should reconsider whether or not you are actually a fan.
