"Which dress should I wear?" Joelle asks me as she comes into my room, holding up 2 dresses. I take a good look at them to make sure I pick the best one.

"The right one," I eventually say.

"You sure?"

"Yes, 100%"

"Great, thanks!" Joelle tells me before leaving my room. I go back to applying my make-up, putting on a little more than usual. It is New Year's Eve after all. Joelle and I are going to a party together, which is something we do every year. It's always a lot of fun and I'm very excited about it.

"Tadaa!" Joelle says, showing off her dress as she walks into my room again.

"Looking good! How does my make-up look?" I ask Joelle, who takes a few steps closer to me to expect my make-up.

"It looks great, though I would put on some eyeliner."

"I always mess that up."

"I can do it for you?"

"That'd be great!" I say as I hand Joelle my eyeliner.

"If you do my hair," Joelle says, not taking the eyeliner from me just yet.

"I will," I promise her and she takes the eyeliner from me. I sit down close my eyes, letting Joelle do my eyeliner as I think about what I could do with her hair. I've always been good with hair and it's something I love doing, both for others and for myself.

"One side down, one to go," Joelle says as she moves to the other side of me.

"How do you feel about braids?" I ask, imaging a hairstyle for in my head.

"I like braids, as long as they don't make me look childish."

"Okay, then I have an idea for your hair."

"Great! And... done!" Joelle says and I open my eyes. I take a look in the mirror and see Joelle has done my eyeliner to perfection, almost.

"Thanks Jo, you're the best!"

"No problem girl, just help me with my hair!"

"Ready to party?" I ask Joelle as we inspect our outfits in the mirror.

"Very ready. Can we take a picture before we leave though? For Instagram"

"Sure!" I say and she takes out her phone. We pose in front of the mirror and she takes a picture of us.

(A/N: Left is Joelle, right is Violet)

"We need to hurry, the cab is already here!" Joelle points out as she peeks outside. We quickly make our way outside and walk to the cab we ordered.

"I can't believe it's already the end of the year though! The year went by so quickly!" I say as we get into the cab. I quickly tell the driver the address and then we're off.

"I did, it's crazy! Can you believe it's almost been 5 weeks since you saw Daniel!"

"Jo, no Daniel tonight. I wanna have fun and not think about him for a night."

"Right sorry! I promise, his name won't come out of my mouth tonight."

"Great," I say just as we reach the party. The drive to the party wasn't that long luckily. We get out of the car and make our way inside.

"I need a drink first," Joelle tells me and I nod in agreement.

"Can you get me something as well?"

"Sure, what do you want?"

"Don't really care, whatever you're having," I say, knowing we usually like the same drinks.

"Okay, be right back!" Joelle says before making her way to the bar. I walk a bit further until I reach a high table. I wait until Joelle returns with the drinks, scanning the crowd as I do. Just as Joelle comes back with the drinks, I spot a familiar face.

"Crap!" I exclaim as Joelle hands me my drink.

"What, you don't like it?"

"I do, but you'll never guess who's here," I say before taking a large sip of my drink. I need it badly.

"Ellen DeGeneres?"

"No silly! Daniel!"

"Really? That's great!"

"No, it's not!"

"Why not? Now you can talk to him!"

"Not here, that'll never go well."

"Why not?"

"Because.... I don't know, I just think it won't!" I say, taking another large sip of my drink.

"Well what are you gonna do then? Avoid him all night?"

"Yes," I decide before finishing my drink.

"Well then you better start moving because I feel like he's coming this way," Joelle tells me, making my eyes widen. I'm smart enough not to look behind me to see if she's right, but pull Joelle with me to the dance floor instead. I try to push past as many people as I can in order to lose Daniel.

"Is he still following?" I ask Joelle, who's trying to safe her drink with all her power.

"Nope, don't think so. Can we stop walking? I wasn't kidding when I said I needed a drink."

"Right, sorry," I say and I stop walking on the other side of the dance floor.

"Thanks," Joelle says before taking a sip of her drink.

"Why does he have to be at this party of all places?"

"I don't know Vi, but you do know you can't avoid him forever, right?"

"I know, I know. But I'll take as long as I can."

"Why?"

"I really don't know what to say to him or how to tell him."

"I'd just tell him what happened and why you did it. Just tell him how you feel, he'll understand."

"Let's hope so," I sigh, feeling significantly less ready to party than just half an hour ago.

"Alright, we're not gonna do this tonight. We're gonna dance and drink and have a great time. It's the last time this year we can," Joelle tells me before pulling me to the dance floor. I follow her willingly and soon enough I forget all about Daniel and just have fun with my best friend on the final night of the year.

Daniel's POV

"She walked away from me," I tell my friends, still surprised by it myself.

"What?" Jake asks confused.

"I saw this girl I met during the last GP, she interviewed me. She was really nice and that night I asked her to join our team dinner. We had a great time and we got along really well. The next day after the race she texted me, telling me she wanted to tell me something. I was busy and couldn't meet up and she had to leave the next morning, so I still don't know what she wanted to tell me."

"Is she hot?" Sam asks, making me roll my eyes.

"She's beautiful," I correct him, making my 3 mates smirk.

"What?"

"Dany has a crushy," Evan says in a children's voice, making me roll my eyes once again.

"I don't, I just want to know what she had to tell me. She told me it was important,"

"Well maybe she had to go to the bathroom, you'll talk to her later tonight," Jake tells me and the other guys nod in agreement. I guess he's right. The night is young, there's still plenty of time to talk to Ella.

"Let's have another drink, shall we?" Sam suggests and all of us agree with him right away. Sam makes his way over to the bar, ordering us all drinks. Whilst waiting for him, I scan the room, looking for Ella.

"Guys, I have to pee," Evan tells me and Jake.

"Don't tell us dude, just go!" Jake tells him.

"And really, already?" I add before Evan starts making his way to the bathroom. Just then, Sam comes back with our drinks.

"Where's Evan?" he asks as he hands Jake and I our drinks.

"To the bathroom," I tell him before taking a sip of my drink.

"Already?"

"Yes."

"I swear, that guy has the tiniest bladder."

"True," I say as I take another sip. It doesn't take long before Evan comes back, a huge grin on his face.

"You'll never guess who I just saw. Dan, you're gonna be so happy!" he tells us, making me very curious. Sam hands him his drink, which he takes a sip of right away, not telling me what I want to know.

"Tell us man!" I urge him.

"Violet. And let me tell you, she looks beautiful! I didn't even recognize her at first, only realized once I saw her friend, Joelle. She has changed a lot!"

"Violet?"
