I was jealous.

Jealous of a soul sucking demon.

His backyard wasn't a yard. It was a forest, a swimming pool and a waterpark at the same time.

There was a barbecue going on in the right corner, to the left corner a game of beer pong was happening, on an actual ping pong table.

In the center was a humongous pool and on the right end of it there was a twisting green water slide.

To the far end of the swimming pool were the woods but someone had hung fairy lights in them to make the whole place more magical and less scary.

A Jacuzzi bubbled on the side of the pool.

'Close your mouth,' Lucian murmured beside me and I gulped before closing it, wiping my mouth in case of excitement drool.

Turning I looked at him, 'How did you come by such an amazing place?'

Lucian shrugged in response.

'You live here alone?' I whispered.

He looked at me now, his eyes seemed to hold a puzzle. Something I didn't quite understand, 'No'.

'Come on Lizzy! This is super fun!' Charlotte pulled me away before I could question him farther.

What did he mean "no"? I thought to myself as Charlotte pulled me towards the jacuzzi.

There was already a handful of people in it including Grace, Jack, Trinity and Ashley.

Jack looked up at me hopefully and patted the sides of the jacuzzi which was bubbling and giving off neon lights underwater, 'Come on Lizzy,' he smiled but my heart ached.

I'd had countless dreams and daydreams that one day Jack Isle would say that to me. He'd notice me, invite me, fall in love with me and call me by my nickname.

Now that he had done everything I dreamed of I found myself wishing that he had kept on calling me Ellen.

That would've been less painful than a puppet made to fall in love with me. Forced against his will.

Someone whistled behind me, 'Damn Elizabeth is that you?'

I turned to see Chase Huntington in his swimming briefs, one hand holding a champagne bottle, the other sported four glasses.

Chase was good looking. He had his short blond hair, that buff body, broad shoulders, a cute smile and a tremendous ego.

'I never knew you could look this good,' he chuckled, eyeing me up and down like something on display.

'Uh yeah... thanks,' I muttered, feeling uncomfortable under his gaze.

'No problem,' he smirked again, 'You want to join the jacuzzi club?'

'I don't have a swimming suit,' I said and Chase laughed.

'You don't need one,' he grinned.

'Excuse you?' I said, my eyes narrowing.

An agitated sigh sounded from behind me, 'Bra and undies Liz,' Grace looked at me, her dark hair in a classy bun on top of her head, 'Lucian was lending out briefs just now. Some girls are dying, thinking they're his, they've decided they're going to take them home. My guess is that the snob bought them all new,' Grace stuck her nose in the air.

'You should go find Lucian. Get him to give you a pair,' Charlotte piped in.

'I saw him go upstairs,' Chase commented from behind me.

The mansion's hall was eerily silent as I looked up the lushly carpeted oak staircase that led me to the second floor.

Taking Grace's heels off and holding them in my hand I started to climb the stairs, wondering if I would ever find Lucian in a place this big.

It felt weird to me.

Just the day before yesterday I felt like he was the most evil being on Earth. I panicked when he was near and we never spoke, let alone looked at each other.

But that changed. That changed the first time he sat behind me. No, the first time he showed up in my dreams because of that stupid book.

And now? Now I was looking for him to borrow his briefs for his jacuzzi.

I leaned my forehead against the cool wooden railing for a few seconds, grasping for reason.

If it were the old me I would've called a taxi home and hid under my blanket.

If it were the old me I would've ruined Grace and Charlotte's good time, convince them that fast food night was back on the menu if they came with me.

The new me. Wanted to find Lucian.

I was scaring myself.

With a new intake of breath I climbed the stairs to find the man that was going to take my soul.

All courage left me when I ascended the second floor of Lucian's mansion.

Portraits and portraits lined the two dark hallways. There were small lamps attached to the walls, giving everything a eerie glow.

There were two hallways and I gulped, setting a hand on my crazy beating heart as I decided which one to choose.

'Lucian?' I said into the darkness, instantly my voice was swallowed by emptiness.

I gulped again. Nothing could be heard from the party up here, it was really really silent.

My toes rubbed against the red carpet and I sighed. Maybe I just wouldn't get into the stupid jacuzzi. Parties weren't my style anyway.

I sulked silently, watching my toes.

A soft peal of laughter reached my ears.

My head snapped up, so suddenly that I felt like I'd twisted a neck muscle.

It had definitely come from my right.

Had Lucian come up with someone? Had... he brought a girl upstairs?

A feeling of unease overcame me and I slapped my palm against my head. I should be worried. God knows what he was going to do to her.

Easily making up my mind I walked down the right hallway, still too afraid to run as the people on the portraits seemed to follow my every move.

Just as I was about to turn around, voices drifted towards me. Soft. Hardly heard and I took a few more steps.

'... taking long...' the voice belonged to a woman.

'I know.... find a way....' that was certainly Lucian's voice, he sounded impatient.

'...not happy...' the woman's voice continued, her voice gave me the chills. It nearly seemed like she was threatening Lucian.

When I took another step closer there was silence.

And very slowly the last door of the hallway opened, light spilling onto the red carpet.

I clutched the Choo's to my heart, awaiting to see who was going to come out.

'What are you doing?' Lucian growled, appearing in the doorway.

He had changed clothes. In fact, his shirt seemed to be missing and his socks.

I let out a sigh of relief before scolding myself. Lucian was the most dangerous person I could possibly associate myself with. How could I be relieved?

'Are you talking to someone?' I asked.

A frown appeared on Lucian's face before he shook his head, 'No'.

'Is your house haunted?' I questioned, rubbing my bare arms.

The bastard smirked, 'Hopefully'.

We stared at each other until I cleared my throat, 'I came to borrow briefs... for the jacuzzi,' I added when Lucian lifted a brow.

His smirk widened, 'Since when do you jacuzzi?'

I scowled at his remark, 'You don't know me'.

'I beg to differ,' he whispered.

'What?'

Lucian shrugged, 'Come in,' and disappeared back into the room.

I rocked on the balls of my feet. What if he killed me inside? No one would know.

I peered over my shoulder. No one would hear me. But my heart quickened. It was so dark and lonely up here. I wouldn't be able to walk back alone. My throat closed up. I was such a scaredy cat.

'You want my briefs or not?' Lucian's voice made me jump.

He had that smug grin on his face again and I sighed before entering his room.

☠☜◊✙◊☞☠

If I thought my room was big. I was sadly mistaken.

Lucian's room was a hotel suite.

He had his little living room going on and an entire cabinet full with alcohol.

I walked closer to the expensive looking dark wooden cabinet and read the labels off the bottles behind their little glass doors, 'Legacy, Château d'Yquem 1811, Penfolds Ampoule, Dalmore 62, Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne, Tequila Ley...'

'You know. That last one cost 3.5 million dollars,' Lucian said from behind me, making me jump.

'What?' I looked at the tiny bottle that seemed to be swathed in diamonds and gold, 'Do you even drink this?' I mumbled, looking at more than a few million dollars added together.

'Of course not,' Lucian answered matter-of-factly, 'I just like the expression on people's faces when I buy it'.

I scowled for the second time in a day, a feat only Lucian Black could manage to get out of me, 'You're horrible'.

He only smiled, it was so dark I shivered again, 'Briefs,' he led up a pair of blue boxers, a label on it said 'Calvin Klein'.

'Grace said you bought these new,' I mentioned, taking them from his hand.

Lucian shrugged, 'They were cheap. Grace guessed correct'.

I felt my eye twitch as I folded the briefs and tucked them under my arm, 'You're a pig'.

In a second Lucian had pinned me against the wall. Hands on either side of my head and I swallowed the fear that was crawling up my throat when I looked at his cold pale eyes. How could I have ever thought him to be "okay"?

'You've been calling me a lot of names lately,' he whispered, his voice so silky it made my legs wobble in fear.

A grin appeared on his face when he sensed my fear and he took a step back, letting me fall onto the ground. My legs being shaky.

The bastard crouched down in front of me and tilted his head, 'Would you rather have ones I've worn before?'

I stayed silent, refusing to give out one single whimper as the demon continued to look at me.

I couldn't deny that Lucian was breathtaking. Despite him being so dark and twisted I couldn't help but admire how flawlessly he was created.

I knew it wasn't the time to talk about how the soul sucking sadist was actually pretty hot but my body needed something to distract from the fear.

Lucian's chest was bare. He had what Grace called "muscle chesticles", and that was what they were.

His abs looked like they had been chiseled onto his body, he even had that sexy V-line that dipped into his black jeans.

His biceps looked smooth, steel muscles under soft skin and I gulped again as I caught the pale blue eyes under thick black lashes staring at me.

Shit he was hot.

Lucian grinned, 'You think?'

Did I just say that out loud?

'Yes, you did,' his grin grew wider.

I slapped both hands over my mouth. How was this happening? Why was my mouth flopping out my thoughts?

I shook my head in denial but Lucian's devilish - how ironic - grin grew wider.

'I never knew you'd admit that Elizabeth'

My spine tingled. He had never call me by just my first name. It somehow made us more... close.

Just as I was wondering about whether I should be happy or unhappy about that little fact he leaned in.

'I've always wondered,' he murmured, pulling away the hands from my mouth.

'W-What are you doing Lucian?' I demanded as he came closer and I pressed my back harder against the wall, 'What the hell are you doing?'

He snickered at this but didn't say anything as he leaned in closer.

I pushed him but he didn't even budge, 'Lucian, I swear to God-'

He silenced me with a kiss, 'Don't mention Him in front of me'.

Kissing Lucian made me burn. Literally and figuratively. I felt like our lips were on fire. I resisted, pushing at his shoulders for the first few seconds but he didn't budge.

Slowly my strength disappeared and I found myself kissing Lucian back.

And the burning sizzled down to a pleasant searing feeling, a tingling feeling.

His lips were warm and they moulded against mine so gently I couldn't believe it was the cold Lucian Black.

When our tongues touched I grabbed onto his shoulders for support. His kiss seemed to suck the energy out of me, literally.

When he finally pulled away minutes later I leaned back against the wall, heart thumping, lips on fire.

I watched him touch two fingers to his lips and then frown, 'So that's it'.

'What is it?' I asked, breathless and slightly embarrassed.

He wrinkled his nose, 'You burn me less when you want me'.

Silence ensued as my cheeks turn that dark ripened tomato color.

That was it. My first kiss. At the age of eighteen. Given to a total and utter jack ass.

'I hate you,' I whispered, hating myself for how wobbly my voice sounded.

'No you don't,' Lucian shrugged, grinning.

'Yes I do,' I whispered again, staring him down.

He assaulted me with another kiss. This time it was rougher, more desperate and I found myself trying to catch my breath again when he was done.

'Why are you crying?' he asked.

'I'm not'

He reached out to touch my face, stopping when I flinched before his finger brushed my cheek. I was crying.

Lucian's face evolved into a puzzled look.

'That was my first kiss,' I mumbled, putting an arm over my eyes as I felt more tears, 'And I gave it to a soul sucking demon'.

For once, Lucian was silent.
