In the morning, Tory's absence was noticed at a meeting with the heads of institute (aka Kyler's parents):
"Silver's getting stronger and we're just sitting here on the sidelines waiting... doing nothing." Robert complained.
"The Clave is handling things." Maryse placated.
"Oh, that's a joke, Maryse. You and I both know how the Claves handles things."
They were interrupted by Kyler and Piper walking into the office.
"What's going on?" Their son questioned.
"Sit." His mother ordered.
"It's no surprise Tory isn't here." Robert complained.
"She got held up. Said to start without her." Piper immediately said. In truth, she had no idea where Tory was or why she wasn't there but she covered for her blonde friend as part of the girl code. Kyler looked at her questioningly.
"I'm sure she has a good reason." Maryse told Robert.
"Maryse and I..." The matriarch glared at him. "Okay, I requested a meeting at the Clave to inform them that the Seelies are siding with Silver."
"And the Clave denied it." Maryse finished.
"What do you mean? They don't want you coming to Idris?" Kyler queried.
"There are rumours that local Shadowhunters have been interfering in Downworld affairs. But you two wouldn't know anything about that, right?"
"No."
"Nada." They replied at the same time.
"Since all this happened here in New York, under our command, they are concerned with our devotion to our job and the cause." Maryse contiued to explain.
"The Clave is sending an envoy."
"Who will be coming to observe us." She translated.
"And to gather information about Silver to report back."

Across town, Tory and Robby had been saved from any awkward morning conversations by the abrupt arrival of Robby's mom, Shannon who had been out all night.
"Hey, where have you been anyway?"
"Oh, you've noticed I've not been here?" Robby replied accusatorially.
"Robby, you are still my son, I know when something is going on. I might not be here for all of the little moments but that's more than I can say for your father."
"Oh, you have no idea." He spat.
"W-what does that mean? Johnny came here?" The angry look on Robby's face told her otherwise. "Robby, you went to see him! Why? Are you okay?"
"No. Not exactly." Tory, who had been in the room glamoured the entire time started to panic slightly and began looking around for something to cause a distraction, if needed.
"Is it drugs?"
"No! I'm not like you. It's not drugs."
"Robby... whatever it is, I can handle it."
"Okay, look, the truth is..." As Robby sighed, ready to confess everything to his mom, Tory knocked an ornament off of a shelf.
"What the..." Shannon trailed off going over to investigate the self-flying object.
"What are you doing?" Tory asked Robby.
"I don't know, okay? This is really hard." He whispered back so his mom wouldn't hear.
"Part of my job as a Shadowhunter is making sure mundanes don't find out about the Shadow world."
"You mean, the truth." Robby corrected.
"Just, be careful."
"I will."
"Tell her you joined a crazy gym or something, steroids are normally a good excuse for enhanced abilities." Tory suggested.
"Sorry, baby. That was so weird. Did you see that? What was it you were going to tell me?"
Robby's mouth opened and closed a few times as he tried to figure out what to say "Yeah, uh, I went to see Dad... and uh, I think I'm gonna join his dojo. I mean, I done three sports in high school before I dropped out and I kind of miss being active. Plus, if I get to accidentally hit him a few times... what's the harm?"

Robby returned to his room before he said anything else.
"Robby..." Tory called after him. "See, that wasn't so bad. Now, you have an excuse to be out of the house, with your dad, being aggressive, and building muscle."
This time they were interrupted by Robby's other parent. Robby sighed when he saw his father calling him:
"What?"
"Are you still with that Shadowhunter girl?"
"Yeah." Robby replied slowly.
"I've got something she might want to see."

Robby and Tory arrived at the Jade Wolf to see that it was severely destroyed inside, Johnny told them it was thanks to the big, ugly, dead demon in the middle of the floor.
"It's got some characteristics of a Forsaken. It was human. It was runed." Tory noted as she squatted down to look at it.
"I don't know. It was more focused, more determined. it attacked like it had a plan. Plus, a normal Forsaken wouldn't have been so hard to kill. It took five wolves to take that thing down. Never seen anything like it." Johnny added.
"I'll take the body back to the Institute, do a full autopsy."
"Oh, hold up. I get that I called you. But what I didn't want is someone to come down here and just take over."
/ /
Tory asked Piper to come pick the body up herself and start the autopsy, wanting to stay with Robby and away from the institute for another while. It turns out she had already missed a lot, including the arrival of the Clave envoy.
Tory and Johnny spent the day showing Robby around the city, training him to use his new enhanced senses and showing him local supernatural spots and how to spot tags showing what belonged to each faction.
One area they reached piqued Tory's interest from all of the extra runes drawn despite it not being a designated Shadowhunter area. There were also a few warlock symbols mixed in, particularly around the antique shop downstairs.
"One sec, guys. I just want to check this place out. Something's off."
Tory walked in first, the bells of the shop as well as the father-son duo trailing behind her.
"Good afternoon." The shopkeeper greeted.
"Hi. Yeah, we're just looking. Thank you." Johnny replied as Tory walked around curiously. She was about to give up, thinking the outside was more interesting than the inside and perhaps it was just an old building that a mundane had taken advantage of to open a business cheaply, when something caught her attention. "Those tarot cards." Tory said pointing to a deck locked in a glass cabinet under the counter. "Can I see them?"
"Certainly."
Tory flipped through them until one caught her eye. She showed it to Johnny as well, seeing if he recognised it. His eyes widened in surprise, giving her an answer. "How much?" Tory asked.
"Oh I don't want money for them." The woman waved her off.
"Right. Warlocks prefers rare jewels." Tory rolled her eyes.
"Or blood."
"Wha-" Before Tory could finish the word the seemingly innocent shopkeeper grabbed her hand, slicing her skin against the paper, making it glow. "Ow!" Tory exclaimed causing the wolves to move forward while the witch watched on in amazement. "What the hell, man?" Johnny questioned.
"I recommend you take it before it runs out." The woman said before portaling away.
"Hey!" They all shouted.
Once they all recovered from the shock and focused on the situation at hand, Johnny asked "Is that what I think it is?"
"One way to find out." Tory said breathing out before reaching in to the piece of paper and pulling the inanimate object out revealing it to be the Mortal Cup in 3D.

Piper figured out the Forsaken was made with Seelie blood - the half-angel properties allowed another attacker to enter the institute, despite the extra protections and wards, and attack Kreese and Kyler before she could warn them.
/ /
That night, Tory checked in with Piper and found out what had happened. "I'll be there as soon as I can." She promised.
"I have to go." Tory said in a world of her own before taking off running.
"Hey, wait. Tory, stop. What happened?" Robby shouted chasing after her.
"Silver attacked my home. Kyler's injured. I have to go. Just promise me you'll be careful."
"Tory, we still have to talk about- -"
"Last night and us."
"Yeah." Robby laughed nervously. Neither of them knew what to say but they knew how they felt and showed that with a long, passionate kiss.
"Look, I know you think emotions cloud judgement... and that whole falcon story, I... I don't think I'll ever be able to wrap my head around that, but... all of that contradicts the first rule of being mundane."
"What's the first rule of being mundane?"
"It's that love makes you stronger. It's love that makes you fight harder for what you want." Robby explained Tory nodded shortly accepting that.
