“The Woman who'd seen it all”

Leonora and Clarissa walked through the field, hand in hand. After the battle with Rafal, they'd wanted to live a more peaceful life. So once the children graduated Leonora announced that the new dean of evil would be Hester, Clarissa made the new dean of good Kiko.

The three of you then left the schools which had become one, You all left to a comfortable home in the fields, in the middle of nowhere. It was warm, snug and there wasn't a villain or hero in sight. You had many scars from your encounter with Rafal but you'd never really care about them, the only two scars you'd remember getting. Was the one Tedros gave you and the one that killed you. All the others faded into each other almost.

Clarissa had taken up a hobby in cooking, Leonora's hobby was hunting and your hobby was gardening. And by gardening you just used your magic to grow many flowers and kill any weeds. The three of you where happy, with your peaceful lives, no villains, no heros, no Rafal, Sophie or Agatha. Just the three of you and the woods. You'd gotten married in those woods, you'd never forget that day, under the stars. Where you said “I do” to the two most beautiful women you had ever scene. It was always just the three of you.

That is until one day “Its getting a bit boring around here Y/n.” You looked up from your book and over at Clarissa who was wiping flour over her apron “Boring?” Leonora then looked up from her book as well “I agree with Clarissa.” You sat up and took your glasses off “Well how do you two want to cure this boredom?” Leonora and Clarissa looked at each other, they had moments like these where they had thought of the exact same idea at the same time.

“How about a baby?” You went wide eyed and slightly red “Well I'm sure that can be arranged. We just need to find the right spell and figure out which one of us shall hold this....baby.” Leonora got up and sat next to you “Well, it can't be me. I'm always hunting and that'd be dangerous. And we wouldn't have anything to eat if I don't hunt.” Clarissa then took her apron off and sat the other side of you.

“And I'm always cooking, around hot fires and sharp objects so I wouldn't say it'd be safe for me to do it either. And I cook what Leonora hunts so..” You quickly got the hint “Oh. You want me too- got it. Sure.” Your two wives kissed you on both cheeks as a thank you.

None of you speak about what happened that night, or how you'd gotten pregnant. It wasn't a conversation to ever have again. It was between the three of you and the bedroom walls.

You had to say those nine months of your life where probably the craziest you'd ever had. Other than, Fighting an evil wizard and dying, coming back to life then bringing another dead woman back to life. You'd craved for the weirdest things, like sponges and leafs. Once you asked Clarissa to bake you a chocolate cake, you ate it. All of it.

Sleeping at night was awful, you'd always be too warm or too cold. And you'd always sleep on your stomach but their was a baby in the way so you couldn't do that either. You couldn't believed some women did this, for joy.

When the day finally came you realized how panicked your two wives where, Clarissa was running around worrying and Leonora was practically hyperventilating, But you put them in their place with a nice and calm notice that the baby was coming, who am I kidding. You yelled these words “BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP. THIS LITTLE SHIT IS GETTING OUT OF ME TODAY!”

But little did you know, that birth would change you and your wives lives. You died, in childbirth. That was like a massive punch in the face, you'd gone through it all. Torture, death, depression, kidnappings, abandonment. And none of it killed you, but your child did, and that hurt more than a thousand stabs to the chest. Clarissa held the baby in her hands and Leonora felt your pulse.

Nothing.

The baby cried and Clarissa began to calm them down whilst tears rolled down her cheeks, Leonora cursed the world for being the way it was. So unfair to the kindest of souls. You had given birth to a beautiful baby girl, you didn't live long enough to name her.

So Clarissa and Leonora named her Mallory which represented bad luck. Mallory Y/n Mills. It was only fitting that she'd have your first and last name. Since you where the one to carry her for 9 painful months.

As Leonora and Clarissa walked through the field hand in hand, they looked out into the field as your daughter played in the grass. She referred to Clarissa as ‘Mama’, Leonora as ‘Moma’ and on very rare occasions, she'd refer to you as ‘Mummy’. This was one of those occasions.

Mallory ran around in the fields and yelled out “Mummy! Mummy! Come look at this bug.” You did look at it, you had always been with your daughter, whenever she'd describe you too Clarissa and Leonora she'd say “Mummy wears a white dress! With pretty fluffy wings! And a pretty flower crown of white roses!” Which was true. That is what you now looked like, even though they couldn't see it. Clarissa walked over to Mallory “Talking to your mummy again Mallory?” She nodded with a happy look on her face.

Clarissa didn't know if Mallory could actually see you, she hoped she could “Can you ask your mummy how she is?” You put your hand on Clarissa's shoulder “Im doing wonderfully Clarissa.” Mallory looked up at you and she had this certain twinkle in her eye “Mummy says she's doing wondefally!” Clarissa laughed at Mallory's pronunciation of the word. You simply chuckled and gave your daughter a kiss on the cheek.

Leonora soon walked over “What are we giggling about?” Clarissa smiled at Leonora “Just silly things dear, just silly things.” They both looked out at the mountains and rivers, over the trees as the sun began to set. You looked with them, it was like you where there but just couldn't talk. That's how you had always seen it.

It was nighttime that you'd enjoy, when everyone was sleeping. You made sure Mallory only dreamt the nicest of dreams, but when you went to your wives. It was always the same dream every night, a dream of you watching over them being there for them and protecting them. Clarissa always cried after the dreams, she missed you more than anything on this planet. But she new, deep down you where with them.

As Mallory grew up the more she spoke to you, once she realized only she could see you. She began convincing Leonora that you where actually there, it never worked. Leonora didn't exactly believe in something beyond death, Mallory did, she had too when she woke up to you. Clarissa believed, but she'd never voice her opinion about it.

One night Leonora was looking out of the window, at the midnight sky. She sighed and went to look away but stopped herself when she saw it. The faintest figure, it was you. Only you had white wings and a white dress, you walked over to the window and pressed your hand against it, smiling. Leonora smiled back, and pressed her hand against yours. That's how Leonora knew it was Mallory's birthday, you'd always appear in the night before and after Mallory's birthday.

And without fail, every time for the past 12 years, she'd visit you at the window. Just to see you once more before you disappeared again.

One day you'd get to be with your family again, you just had to wait patiently and calmly. But you didn't mind how it was currently, as long as you where with Leonora, Clarissa and Mallory you'd always get your happily ever after. Even if it was in spirit.
