Love was always such a cliché thing to me. You could see it in movies as this magical thing that happens and makes your dreams come true.
As a 17 year old student, I never expected to find my own love anytime soon. I was set on using my time to study and prepare for my future not being hopelessly in love and going on dates. Of course as any normal high school student , I had a crush, but I never expected anything to occur from it. Never did I think an ordinary autumn day would change my life and my plans for the future.

I woke up to my phone's ringtone vibrating against my bedside table.I grumble as I lift my head up and pick up my phone from the bedside table beside me. It was a message from Eddy with the contents of the message reading "Where ya at Double D did you go to the library or something? You're usually here by now."

My eyes squinted in confusion, making their way to the top right of my phone screen. My eyes bulging out of my head as I saw the time displayed on the screen read 7:50 am. "Oh dear! I'm going to be late for school! How on earth did I oversleep?!" I scream as I bolt upright placing my phone beside me.

I hurried out of bed rushing to my closet my eyes scanning the clothes for my outfit of the day. I spot my favorite navy blue sweater and I grabbed a white collared button up shirt and pair of black jeans to go with it. I undressed and began to put on my clothes, buttoning up the shirt and tucking in the sweater. I walked to my accessories storage box and pulled out my black tie, wrapping it around my neck and making it into the perfect tie. I grab a pair of navy blue knit socks, sitting on my bed to put them on. I reached to my bed side table, grabbing my 17 year old beanie. I place the black beanie over my raven hair as I hurried to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

I finally ran to the kitchen and grabbed a peanut butter sandwich I had prepared the night before. At the doorway I put on my black loafers and grab my backpack as I leave the house.

"Please don't let me be late!"

I get to school with ten minutes to spare before the bell rings signaling the school day. I enter through the doors of and walk towards my locker grabbing the supplies I needed for my first period. The school doors open and turning my head I see "him" walking to his locker down the hall. Kevin, the school's most popular student, captain of the football team. He was accompanied by his group of friends some of the football and baseball players,Nat,and Nazz. I couldn't help but stare at him as he talked but I quickly regretted that as he looked up and our eyes met. Kevin stared back at me with a blank expression, embarrassed I looked away quickly.

"Oh dear , perhaps I was staring for too long?"

I glanced back and noticed he was still looking my way. My heart began beating faster as my cheeks tinted pink, but gaining a bit of courage, I raised my hand a bit to wave hello.

"Hey Double D!"

A loud voice behind me called, causing me to jump from the sudden noise.I turned around and Eddy stood beside my locker.
"Whatcha starin at?"
"Salutations Eddy.I was just looking at a sheet on the bulletin board regarding the SAT schedule."
"Oh Fuck! I forgot about that!"
"Language Eddy."
"Anyways Double D, lets go look for Ed"
I grab my history book and close my locker door, glancing back to see Kevin went back to talking with his friends. Sighing in relief that the awkward exchange of glances ended.

I didn't expect to get so caught up in staring at Kevin. I usually just take a quick glance and get on with my day. It's a creepy thing to do but seeing Kevin even if it's just a small glance, always makes my day better and I feel happier because of it.Anyone would feel happy from seeing their crush wouldn't they? I had to do it discretely everyday in fear that someone would start to take notice and reveal that I'm gay. Only a few people have come out as gay in town but they were mostly popular kids who didn't experience any rejection from their peers. It was different for the rest of the kids who were unfortunate enough to not have friends. The popular kids had the benefit of having friends so they weren't targeted by the school's bullies. The students with no friends weren't as lucky. Even if someone wanted to give them support, the fear of getting targeted for helping was greater than their wishes to help. The last kid who came out was disowned by his family and moved schools shortly after to escape the bullying from school. No one in the Cul D Sac knows I'm gay, not even Ed or Eddy. Of course Eddy had his suspicions after the day where he was given a bet from Kevin to kiss me. I hated the idea of Eddy being my first kiss. The problem was that I didn't hate it. I hated that it was Eddy, but the thought that I was kissing a boy fascinated me. It made my heart beat so fast and I knew right then and there that I liked men. My face had been coated with a deep blush for minutes after the kiss and Eddy joking asked "Wow Double D you're red, did you like it that much?" and after a day passed he came over and questioned me about my sexuality. I denied it and blamed the blush on a fever. When he left I did research about kissing and found myself looking at pictures of men kissing learned that I was gay.
I kept it a secret after that and continued my life as normal until I began to hang around Kevin more and soon developed a crush on the redhead. We got along well in 6th grade but one day he suddenly stopped talking to me and now I only see him in the halls of the school.

...

We walked inside the cafeteria meeting up with Ed at the back tables where he sat eating cereal.
"Edd n Eddy I missed you!" He shouted standing up, his 6'4" body crouching down to embrace us in a tight hug.

"Too-Too tight Ed!"

"Would ya let go doofus?!",Eddy's shout was muffled by Ed's chest as he spun us around.

"Please don't yell so early in the morning you guys."

"Sorry Double D!" with a thump we hit the floor as Ed released us from his death grip.

"Owww, goodness Ed."

"You moron I didn't say drop us on the floor."

Eddy jumped up,lifted his right arm and placed a slap on the back of Ed's head.

"Ouch Eddy!"

A sigh left my lips as I watched the two slap each other back and forth for a full minute.

"Gentlemen please. It's too early in the morning to act this way. Try to behave."

"Ok dad." Eddy scuffed, "anyways , I've got a new idea to get us dough fast!".

I groan in annoyance as I take a seat across from him. Ed sits down next to me and begins eating again. Here we go again, another way for Eddy to scam the citizens of Peach Creek.
"What is it now Eddy?"

"So you know how the SAT tests are coming soon right? Well I was thinking we could set up a tutoring business! For the low low price of $50 we'll tutor the poor dumb suckers in a subject! We'll be rolling in dough!" His brown eyes light up in excitement and I could've sworn I saw dollar signs replace his pupils.

"That's a good idea Eddy!" Ed yelled smiling happily as food flew out of his mouth, and landed on the table.

"Ed,please.Remember your table manners." I said, cringing with disgust as I grabbed a napkin and wiped the food off the table.

"Eddy when you say "we" you mean I will be the person tutoring everyone correct?"

"Well yea you're the one tutoring the losers, but I'll be in charge of tak- managing the money." He smiled nervously as he explains his position in the business.

"Eddy don't you have to study for your SAT retake? Seeing as you failed the first time I think your time will be better spent studying instead of trying to make money. Your exam is in 3 months Eddy please take your duties as a student more seriously!"

"Geez Double D stop nagging already will ya! I already studied, remember you were there!"

"Eddy. I studied with you for 2 hours and then you fell asleep in the middle of the algebra section. As your friend it's my duty to make sure you pass this test! I'm coming over tomorrow night to tutor you."

Eddy groans loudly "2 hours is enough studying!"

"I'm coming over tomorrow night that's final! Ed, I expect to see you there as well!"

"Why does mush brain have to come?! Can't it just be us?"

"No fair Double D! Eddy's right!" Ed whines and pleads with me giving me puppy eyes to get out of it.

"I'm only doing what's best for the both of you. Now let's go,classes are about to start."

With another groan Eddy and Ed walked with me to the cafeteria doors before we parted ways as they headed to their lockers.

The bell rang for 1st period 5 minutes after our morning chat and as usual I was the first to arrive to class. Taking my usual front seat I waited for class to begin.

The rest of the day went by as any other day in Peach Creek High for me. I attended all my advanced periods and went to the library to read and then went to my last two periods. period. Lunch was rather enjoyable again as I spent my time with Ed n Eddy enjoying each other's company before heading off to classes once more.

Today was much better than any other day though ,because today for the first time in weeks, the school delinquent gang was no where on campus. I didn't have to avoid them in the hallways and could peacefully walk to my classes instead of fearing that I'd be pushed against a locker or be tripped for the enjoyment of delinquents.

At the end of the day I walked to my locker to gather my things before I headed home.
I unlocked my locker and packed up my textbooks for a night of studying for next week's assignments.

"Double D!" I look to the right and see Eddy waving his hand in the air as he ran towards me with Ed right behind him.

"Are you ready to head home?"

" Sorry Double D can't walk with ya today! Me and Ed scored us some dates with some new transfer students!" He slicked his black hair back and grinned with a cocky smile.

"I hope my date likes comic books." Ed smiles from ear to ear as he read his newest comic book, "Invasion of Zombie Aliens".

"Well I hope you gentlemen have a fantastic time! Remember your table manners Ed and don't forget to open the door for her."

"I will Double D! I'll chew with my mouth closed and everything!"

"Are you sure you're cool with us blowing off our movie night Double D? We can you know ditch the dates if ya want."

"Movie Night?" I tilt my head in confusion not remembering the scheduled night. "Oh! I'm sorry Eddy I forgot we planned a movie night. I was planning to study tonight and do a bit of cleaning so don't worry about it!"

"Oh. Sure thing Double D. Let's go Ed." Eddy frowned his eyes lowering as he turned to leave.

Did I make him angry because I forgot our plans? He sounds disappointed about it.

"Eddy are you ok? I'm sorry I forgot about movie night we can reschedule if you'd like."

"I'm fine. I didn't want to watch a movie with you anyway." His voice was low and filled with anger making it obvious it wasn't fine.

"Eddy! There's no point in being angry at me when you're the one who just canceled!"

"Shut up you sock head! That's not what I'm ma- I mean, look I'm not mad so drop it! " He huffs in annoyance and walks away.

"Wait Eddy! You guys can't fight you're the best of friends!"

"It's fine Ed he'll get over it in an hour. For goodness sakes we're seniors and Eddy still acts as though we're in 2nd grade." I close my locker and sigh in annoyance.

"Enjoy your date Ed, I'll see you tomorrow."

"Bye Double D!"

I wasn't too worried about our little argument after all it's became common for Eddy to start up an argument. His anger problems had only started recently though. He would get angry for the smallest thing but oddly the arguments were only aimed at me. It wasn't like they were terrible though, they were just childlike arguments like when I spent an afternoon with Jimmy instead of hanging out at Ed's house. It was pretty funny to tell the truth. The way his face turned red reminded me of a child who was upset about not getting enough attention.

I giggled to myself as I turned the corner that would lead me to the forest in front of the junkyard. It was a fast short cut all the kids in the Cul-D-Sac took to save time on walking. It was also a popular hangout for us since it was isolated due to the fact that it was right next to the junkyard.

I walked to the entrance of the forest and a whimper left my lips as I laid eyes on the group of delinquents.
