'I want to see my mom happy....'

That's what Na Min-Chae's been chanting for the past 2 years....Blaming herself for her existence.

Min-Chae's childhood never felt whole. She was raised by a single mother and her grandma. Even as a kid Min-Chae cherished her mother. She was her whole world....Until she started asking questions Na Hee-Do couldn't answer, which lead to fights.

10th July, 2018

"Are you kidding me! You're quitting Ballet!" Yelled the 40 year old  Na Hee-Do.

"Yes! I want to could you please stop overreacting?!" Said Min-Chae frustratingly.

"So you're just gonna give up? You're gonna let failure stop you?!"-- "I will do whatever I want! What do you care? I'm not good at it anymore. I just wanna quit!"

"Na Min-Chae! You know what, Do whatever you want. Keep lying to yourself and keep doing whatever you want. That's what you do anyway. Just give up!" Said Na Hee-Do furiously.

"You're the one to say....when have you ever been honest with me? OH MY GOD! THE GREAT NA HEE-DO! QUEEN OF FENCING!" Screamed Min-Chae sarcastically.

"Min-Chae!" --- "What!"

"You know, you are such a hypocrite. You've made my life a living hell! If Dad would have been here he would never have done this to me!"

"Fine. Since we're being soo honest. The man in the painting you call dad is made up!"

"Wha--What?"

"Your father was never in the army. It's just the painting of a random guy! Stop being such a  selfish brat things would've been perfect for me!" Yelled Hee-Do.

Hee-Do put her palm on her mouth, realising what she had done. With tears pooling her eyes she says, " Min-Chae ya... I'm --I'm so---" That's when Min-Chae runs away from the house crying with her mother screaming her name from behind.

Everything went numb for Min-Chae. Her mother had lied to her, her whole life. The man in the painting who stood with pride on his face, the man whom she thought was her father her entire life was all FAKE. Min-Chae hated her mother with all the fabric of her being.

She was sitting on the bench near the Hanbyukgyul Tunnel when suddenly, there was a bright light coming through the tunnel and she went towards it. Now, for a moment there she thought she was dead and she was going towards the white bright light which leads to heaven. But, instead she ended up in a shop.
'LA VIDA POINTE SHOES' said the sign. Like the beginning of a horror movie she let her curiosity guide her.

'' Welcome to La Vida Pointe Shoes! What can I hell you with? said the man with an excessive grin.

"Am I dead?" asked Min-Chae. " Well ofcourse you are not. I assure you young miss you are not dead!" He said incredulously.

MIN-CHAE'S POV:-

My guts really telling me to run away from this shop, but alas, I feel like I'm being enchanted right at this moment.

"Emmm..."

"Ah... You're going to sell your shoes? We can do that too. Let me see that first."

With half of my conscious, I reach for my new pointe shoes that Mom just bought me a week ago. My second precious pointe shoes. I put it gingerly in the counter and the shop attendant say, "Yes. A good one, a truly master piece made for a prima ballerina to-be." I blush. "I could give you 150 dollars for this and I think its really a great deal on your end. I don't think you should refuse this one chance."

"I... I..." I'm tongue-tied for the first time in my life. My mind telling me it's a scam but then the shop attendant put four of real 50 thousand won bill in front of me. Not that I need money, thank you very much but...I can do everything to piss my Mom off.
"Answer fast young miss Time is running out!" He Said. I quickly band him my Shoes and say, "If this is a scam, I'll sue you!"
"Now I would never do that!" He chuckled.

He smiled creepily, "Here is the receipt of this transaction and this is my name card. Don't lose it, or you cant go back."

I look at the receipt and the name card before I shove it down to my satchel. "Sure. Good night."

"Be careful on your way there. May you have a very good trip."

"What the hell." I hear myself murmuring while I push the door open to find that I'm in the middle of a busy unfamiliar street in the daytime at the tunnel.

I slap myself.

I'm crazy.

It was just 11:15 pm..... How is it morning already?!

I start to walk. I see people skating listening to cassettes....SOO WEIRD.

I accidently bump into someone.

"Ouch! Watch it!" I yell.
"I am so sorry!" Said the man taking out his phone or something. Wait, why is his phone like that? Then I overheard him speak ing to someone ''Ne Sunbaenim. I will cover the blue dragon wrestling match. Yes I will interview Kim Dae-Soo''

Wait a second.....'KIM DAE-SOO!!??' What the fuck!?! Kim Dae-Soo's wrestling match? It was more than a decade ago.
I am starting to freak out.

"I really am so--" I cut him off and ask him ,
"What year is this?"

"What do you mean what year is this? IT'S 1999

OH SHIT! I start screaming that freaks the man. And he mutters something to himself taking a leave.

Suddenly, the phone booth near me rings. I go in and pick it up.
" Hello?"
"Aah Hello Young Miss. I see You've reached to your destination."
"Why the hell am I in 1999 Master!"
"Patience Na Min-Chae ssi"
He continued, "This is a second chance. Who knows, maybe your life might change or lives. REMEMBER DO NOT LOSE YOUR CARD AT ANY COST. YOUR GOAL SHOULD BE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF IT ALL."

This is how my journey starts.
