His theory was right after all.

Rin would've expected that he would be sweaty on his front side but it was just right. He was warm and nothing more happening, just Korekiyo's slight shifting and turning as he slept.

He slowly got out of the bed and laid the sheets over the sleeping beauty, trying to silence the creek in of the floors by slowing down more. How Korekiyo didn't wake up was beyond him.

"You don't expect that I didn't wake up from your ruckus, now didn't you?"

Never mind.

He looked down again to to see the prince, eyes halfway closed, blinking slowly. Rin couldn't tell if he was upset from being awoken or smirking from the idiotic actions of his sleeping partner.

"Sorry, I tried not to, really," He put on his coat and slipped on his shoes as Korekiyo slowly gets out of the bed, fixing the sheets soon after.

He combed through his locks with his hand, "Is that so? What poor execution if I do say."

A second in silence passed.

"Was that irony for joke? I'm really not the best at them," He quickly apologized.

Rin waved his hands in reassurance, "It's quite alright, it's just difficult to tell if you're joking."

"Sorry, I should be more dignified," He said, slightly disappointed.

"Whatever you request, my prince. Though, you are quite witty. I feel like you could trigger a laugh if you tried," Rin readjusted his mask and opened the front door slightly, letting some fresh air in.

He was grateful that he could finally make some small talk with Korekiyo. He could sense that he is finally comfortable with him again. It's a slow and tedious process, but a very enjoyable one to say the least.

Or maybe something more, who knows?

But that was pushing his luck, sadly.

"Do you, by chance, have any plans today, Rin?" Korekiyo said as he stood by the door, ready to leave.

"Not really. After we took our morning bath, I just planned to explore the surrounding areas, just taking in the outdoors. You could come with me, if you so desire."

Korekiyo nodded, "I do. I plan to discuss more with you, Rin."

He smirked, "And that, I don't mind. Let us depart shall we?"

Rin was lucky that he was located near a river or else they would've well gotten a heat stroke from the blazing sun. He took out two bars of soap and gave one to the life form so deep in the water that it passed his shoulders.

"I despise intense heat more than the cold, how unprecedented," He took the bar of soap and started cleansing his scalp.

"Do you perhaps like hot more than cold usually?" Rin asked.

"Most definitely, I hate air conditioners the most though."

"I figure that you had many heat strokes before, hm?"

Korekiyo blushed from the embarrassing truth, "Yes, my parents had always urged me to allow them to install one in my room but I declined. I've also experienced nose bleeds before, they are very unpleasant as they come unexpectedly. I had a few mattresses succumb to my nose bleeds in the middle of the night."

Rin stifled a laugh. Hearing things the second time around was even funnier than the first,"What a shame."

Korekiyo's mouth accompanied a small grin, "A shame indeed."

After a few stories and stifled laughs, the morning and afternoon went by like a breeze. The evening was a bit windy and cool, a much needed refresher from the heat from the morning.

"I have never talked about myself much, have I? How ironic that I thought you were the selfish one when we first met," A blank face of guilt mixed with though laid softly on Korekiyo's face.

"Well, this is your time to speak now then," Rin happily responded.

"You know why I was upset a day or two ago?" He sighed softly, a breeze lifting strands of his hair on his shoulders.

"I lost someone recently. I don't know if they're dead or alive but I hope it's the latter. He disappeared with no trace of himself except for some missing items. It's very likely that he was kidnapped but that wouldn't be a feasible reason. He was sweet, kind, and would never have anything in ill will. He was also... my only friend, "Tears pricked at the corners at his eyes before his sobs become audible. Quiet, but audible.

Rin immediately hugged the crying prince as soon as he could, leading him to sit down at a nearby tree.

"Cry, my prince, it's okay. I'm sure that he is still out there," Rin circled his hands on his back softly. Did he really miss him so much? To hurt him more than the anxiety did?

"The others miss him too. That would have been expected though," He briefly stopped his sobs to wipes away the tears itching his cheeks. That was the most significant thing he could've told the stranger. He hoped it was sufficient enough.

"What was his name, if you will," Rin sadly said. This was hurting him more than anything. Upsetting so many people at once was definitely not his goal.

"Rantaro Amami, the prince of the very wealthy kingdom just a few miles north from mine," Korekiyo started stifling his sobs and focused on breathing steadily.

"I've heard of him also. Is he humble by popular belief," Rin said as Korekiyo nodded soon after.

Rin looked at the sun as it set slowly, "Let us go, my prince. It is getting late,"

It was a long walk back but it was very much necessary if he was going to calm Korekiyo down properly. It was the least Rin could do.

He led the calmed down prince to the bed whilst he made the fire for tonight. Rin made sure he looked extra carefully today, and decided it was better for Korekiyo to sleep alone for the night.

"You could sleep next to me if you desire," Korekiyo whispered.

"You seemed very upset. Are you sure?" Rin inquired strongly.

Korekiyo blushed as he nodded, "I couldn't be more sure."
