Lucy's POV

Let's talk about stereotypes.
There's the jocks. The nerds. The preps. The populars. Rebels. Good girls. Those who don't fit in anywhere. And those who are all of them combined.
These groups determine what type of person you are throughout high school. And normal people pretty much just want to fit in, to belong with one group and no one else. I've been classified as many of these. The nerd. The prep. The popular. The good girl.
But, high school is where I'll discover where I belong. That is the reason high school was made, right?
The story begins here. If you can prepare yourself, go ahead and try. Cause this is not your classic story.

"Lucy, wake up!" My father, Jude, called up to me.
I yawned and sat up in bed, stretching immediately. There was a faint knock on the door and my maid, Virgo, entered.
"Princess, what can I prepare you for breakfast?" She questioned as I walked to the bathroom.
"Hmmm. Pancakes with extra butter. And a coffee."
"As you wish."
She left my room. I changed into the academy's uniform and brushed my blonde hair, putting it neatly into two pigtails. After checking myself in the mirror, I skipped downstairs.
My father was sitting at the table, reading a newspaper and picking at toast. My older sister, Aquarius, had a cup of tea and was reading War and Peace for the hundredth time. And my little brother, Loki, had his nose stuffed in Harry Potter and his face stuffed with Cheerios.
I sat down next to them, each acknowledging me with a nod before returning to their reading material. As my breakfast was set down in front of me, I began to eat, pulling out my book as well. It was Animal Farm, one of my favorites.
The bells chimed through the house, telling us it was time to go to school. My father kissed us goodbye and we went out to the limo where our driver, Capricorn, was waiting.
When I arrived at Fairy Tail Prep, I saw the classic image. Everyone wearing the same colored uniform, doing the same thing as they did every morning, and not even bothering to break the rules. It was too plain, too classic. We strived to go above and beyond.
So when I saw a group of four boys jumping out of a plane that had just written 'Freedom From School Uniforms!' in the sky, I knew that they went a little too far in the above and beyond category.

"Did you see those boys this morning?"
"I heard it was those four that cause trouble all the time."
"That one, wasn't he from that institute for the bad kids?"
"Yeah, that Phantom Lord place."
The conversations filled my ears as I searched everywhere for my three closest friends. I finally caught sight of one of them, Juvia, standing by her locker. I waved to her and she swayed over to me.
"Good morning, Lucy."
"Good morning, Juvia."
"Can you believe what those boys did?"
"If it's the boys I think it is, yes."
"I didn't see who they were."
"Looked to me like Natsu, Gray, Jellal,
and Gajeel."
"Figures. Gajeel always was a bad kid at Phantom. And the other three are idiots. Why can't Jellal be like his brothers?"
"Oh, are you talking about us?" Siegrain and Mystogan walked towards us.
"Yep. Just saying how big of an idiot your triplet is," I replied.
They stuck out their tongues and swaggered off. I rolled my eyes and started walking to class with Juvia when I heard an announcement.
"Would Juvia Locksar, Erza Scarlet, Lucy Heartfilia, and Levy Mcgarden please report to the office," the principal, Mavis, called over the intercom.
I sighed and changed my direction to the office. Juvia was right behind me, her blue hair bouncing with each step she took.
When we arrived, Erza and Levy were already there, waiting patiently for us. Mavis stood behind her desk, four boys to the seats on her right. She motioned for us to sit and we obeyed.
"Girls, I would like you to meet the stupid idiots who decided to start a rebellion. Stupid idiots, these are my top students."
"Yo," the one, Natsu, cooed.
"Girls, these boys will be going through a new program in which they each stay with one of you and learn how to behave. I already assigned them and called your parents to confirm they were okay with it. If the boys do not learn, I will be sending them to Phantom."
"Wait, stay? As in, live with us?" I questioned.
"Yes. Don't worry. All your parents already agreed to it. We start this program today. Natsu, you go with Lucy, Gray with Juvia, Jellal with Erza, and Gajeel with Levy. Dismissed."
"But," Levy began.
"Sorry, Levy, but no buts. Dismissed."
We strolled out of the office, each of us girls fuming inside. The boys looked at us and smirked. They were going to have so much fun with this.
"If we are going to do this, we are doing this correctly. Nice to meet you Natsu, I'm Lucy."
We sat in the black limo driving to the house. I had spent the whole day with Natsu and now I had to go home with him. But, I would accomplish this.
"Yo," he replied cooly.
I took my book and slapped him across the face, causing my brother and sister, who were on either side of us, to look up from their books and laugh.
"Ow. Why'd you do that, Luce?" he complained.
"What did you call me?"
"Luce."
"Don't call me that."
"Why?"
"Because that is not my name."
"Well, I have a little brother I call Happy, but that isn't his name."
"Well, did he approve of you calling him that?"
"Yeah."
"Then, it's okay. I have not, so it's not okay. Now, back to greetings. Nice to meet you Natsu. My name is Lucy."
"Nice to meet you Lucy. My name is Natsu."
"Good. It's a start."
We pulled into the driveway leading to the Heartfilia Estate. When we stopped, we all exited the vehicle and walked out separate ways. Aquarius walked to the stables, Loki towards the soccer field in the backyard, and Natsu and I to the mansion.
"So, your name is Natsu?" My father repeated as we all sat down at the dinner table and talked about out day as Stromboli was served.
"Yeah," Natsu yelled through his bites of food.
"You eat like a pig," Aquarius grumbled.
"And you look like one."
I reached for my book and smacked his pink haired head. He winced in pain and glared at me. I just shook my head in annoyance.
Once dinner was finished, I went up to my room, still obsessed with my book. Natsu's room was adjoined to mine, unfortunately, and I heard his annoying music blaring as I tried to focus on the best part. Finally, at 9:30, when everyone else was asleep, I stormed into his room to beat the boy to death with a dictionary.
And that's when the storm started.
"Natsu Thaddeus Dragneel, if I here one more peep out of that stupid band you're listening to, I swear-"
There was a loud boom, causing me to yelp. I looked out the window to see lightning crackling across the night sky. I started hyperventilating and backed up into my room, jumping into my bed and throwing the covers over my head.
I started rocking back and forth slowly, taking deep breaths and trying to tune out the loud thunder by plugging my ears with my fingers. I feared thunderstorms more than anything, and never could face them. They scared me almost as must as when mom died.
I heard my door squeak open. No, not my door, the door between mine and Natsu's room. The cover was torn off of me, and Natsu slapped a pair of headphones over my ears. The music was Mozart.
"Luce, are you ok?" He questioned as he sat on the edge of my bed, raising his voice just a little so I could hear him over the music.
"No. Thunderstorms aren't my cup of tea."
"Tell me about it."
He patted the spot next to him. I just stared. Natsu Dragneel wanted me to tell him about my feelings? As in, he was going to listen? Doesn't sound right.
"Why are you staring at me?" He queered.
I squinted my eyes, Mozart blaring in my ears. I could still hear Natsu, cause he was right next to me, but it surprisingly tuned out the storm. Was this boy for real?
"Fine. I'll come to you."
Say what now?
He sat down next to me, so close our elbows brushing. He tossed the blanket over us and stared at me.
"You gonna tell me about your fear of thunderstorms?"
"Why are you so close to me?"
"Cause you weren't coming to me."
"It's rude to sit this close to a person."
"Well Luce, you should know by now that I don't have manners."
I gulped and breathed out. It was comforting to have him next to me, but still weird. I guess that if I was going to get him to leave, I would have to tell him my story.
"It was a stormy night. I was seven years old and my mother and I were driving home. She hydroplaned and we spun off the road. I was ok, but she... she d-di-she d-"
Tears formed in my eyes. I bit my lip to hold in a wail. Suddenly, there was a hand against my head. Natsu pushed my head into the area between his shoulder and head. He gently patted my head.
"I get what you're saying. Sorry," he whispered gently, so soft I barely heard him.
"You know, I'm surprised you even know who Mozart is," I replied.
"Believe it or not, I actually play piano. My mother forced me to take lessons as a kid, saying I had a natural gift."
"I don't believe that."
"I didn't think you would, but that doesn't mean it's not true."
I giggled slightly. The room was dark, the storm grew quiet, and I fell asleep almost instantly.
I awoke the next morning to the sound of distant playing. My eyes reluctantly peeked open, revealing that it was still dark outside. The storm had thankfully stopped.
I listened to the piano play. It was perfect, making me think maybe Natsu's iPod was still on. When I realized it wasn't, I slipped downstairs, following the sound of music.
When I found a small light peering from the door from one of the rooms, I carefully opened it and looked inside. The light was faint, but the music was clear. I closed the door behind me and walked down the rows of books, implying this was a library, searching for the source of the noise.
What I found was a boy with pink hair tickling the ivories of a certain grand piano. He played so lightly, so peacefully, so perfectly, it made me stop dead in my tracks and stand there, watching him. I was afraid that if I made a noise, he would stop playing. So I stood there, adoring the Flight of the Bumblebee in silence.
When I heard him stop on a note, I opened my eyes and stared at him. Because I knew the last note, and that wasn't it. He laid his hands gently on the keys and breathed out.
"It's rude to spy on people, Luce," he murmured.
Well, that threw me through a loop. How did he know I was here?
"How did you know I was here?"
"Your uneven breathing. Your shadow casted by the lamp. And your reflection in that giant mirror."
Idiot! I forgot there was a mirror in a room in my house.
"You play beautifully," I grumbled, looking away.
He sighed and stood up, walking towards me. He carelessly threw his arm around my shoulder and ruffled my hair playfully.
"Come on, top student. It's four in the morning. You should probably get a couple more hours of sleep."
