CHAPTER SIX , since last night.

teenage dirtbag — wheatus.

october 3rd, 6:10 am.

the sun was finally rising, golden petals unfurling and scattering throughout the rich blue.

normally (y/n) would've found the sight comforting, watching sunrises left a puddle of hope in her heart– new beginnings, opportunities, change.

sunrises left a puddle of hope in her heart. hope for change.

but now, watching the sun rays penetrate between the clouds was the last thing on her mind; as she walked down the street with hanma by her side, all she could think about was facing her parents for the first time since last night.

the girl's cheeks were burning despite the early morning air, hands were fidgeting with the hem of her pajama shirt.

"bro." hanma's raspy voice silenced her raging thoughts, he lightly slapped her hands off her shirt hem. "chill."

(y/n) sucked in a short a breath, turning to look up at her... boyfriend with a fearful expression. "i think this is the closest you can walk me," she said, voice obviously strained with anxiety. "my dad normally leaves for work at six, he'll see you if you stay with me any longer."

she always had to stop takemichi a few houses down the street when she hung out with him, same for other male friends — not that she had many.

the isolation from boys enforced by her parents left (y/n) unable to act normally around guys; she struggled to make male friends on her own– most of the ones she already has were introduced to her by hina and takemichi.

"..." the taller boy silently stared at her, hands now in his leather jacket, a teasing grin slowly replacing the neutral expression. "you sure he wouldn't want to meet me?"

she giggled, slapping his elbow lightly. "stupid... but no seriously you have to leave. or you'll get us both killed."

"what're ya gonna tell them when they ask where you went?" shuji pressed, "they must've opened the door to look for you last night."

(y/n) smiled, knowing she can always count on a certain coral-haired girl to cover for her. "i have an alibi ready."

"damn, it hasn't even been 24 hours and you're already acting like me." hanma smirks, heavy chuckles vibrating through his chest. "bunny got corrupted that fast?"

"nope, strict parents just raise good liars."

"ah- you're such a red flag." he pouted.

(y/n) only replied to his statement with an innocent (yet ever a mischievous) smile. it was momentary though; her expression quickly morphed into a flustered one with her lips parting slightly when hanma leaned down to lessen the distance between his face and hers.

"i love that about a woman." he smugly whispered, reveling in her embarrassment. he blew a breath on her lips before stepping back; allowing her to come back to her senses.

"see ya, bunny!" he cheerfully bid her a farewell, turning to walk away with a final wink.

(y/n)'s gaze was glued to his disappearing form for a second longer than it should've, her body was utterly too flustered to move. "don't call me that.." she whispered to herself; he obviously couldn't hear her from his distance.

and with that, she began making her way down the street to her home– where, undoubtedly, questions await her return.

upon reaching the fence-gate, only a few feet away from the front door, (y/n) felt her body grow heavy— the weight of what she did last night finally settling in now that Hanma wasn't here to distract her.

holy shit, what if they already know. they already know don't they? the cop probably knows them! and knew she was their daughter– how will she deny it if they have proof?!—

just as she opened the gate, the front door swung open, she was met with her father dressed in his work attire staring straight at her.

(y/n) held his gaze, feigning guilt as her (e/c) irises drifted from his eyes to the ground shamefully.

"where did you go last night?" his voice was as sharp as it was yesterday, as if the wound was still fresh.

she flinched at the cold tone, "hina's... i texted her asking if i could spend the night at hers, and she agreed." she lied, "came back to get ready for school."

a few minutes of uncomfortable silence veiled over the two, as if her father was checking for any sort of lie in her words.

(y/n) felt her nerves burn with each passing second, did he know?

his (e/c) eyes stared up and down at her, finally stepping down the doorsteps and walking out the gate; making his way to his car. "your mother's inside, get ready for school you'll be walking." his final statement before he slammed the car door shut and revved the engine.

heart heaving in her chest at the distant attitude he exhibited, but still very much relieved he's leaving, (y/n) slowly made her way to the house; pushing the door open quietly and stepping inside.

"(y/n)?" her mother called, rushing over from the kitchen. the obvious dark circles beneath her eyes were the first thing (y/n) noticed about the older woman – "where were you last night? we went to let you in but you weren't there."

the girl felt anger bubble at her stomach, did they expect her to stay on the doorstep in freezing cold air? are they forgetting the only reason she was out there was because of them?

the anger fizzled out as soon as it came, (y/n) really was too tired to feel anything at the moment. all the night activities now slowly catching up to her body. "spent the night at hina's."

"ok." her mother replied, "well. go get ready for school, im going to walk you– your father's still angry from yesterday."

"..uhm i can just walk to school by myself."

"no, who knows what'd happen to you if you walk alone. you're just a girl."

with a bitter sigh (y/n) only nodded, trudging up the stairs to her room. first thing she did was throw her phone at the charger, hopping in the shower soon after.

as the warm water slithered down her (s/c) skin, down her shoulders, back, stomach and legs, (y/n) replayed the moments of the previous night in her head.

hanma shuji.

hanma shuji and (y/n)... dating.

hanma shuji her.. boyfriend..

who knew her first boyfriend, the dream boy she often daydreamed about– how handsome he'd be, how tall he'd be, how strong and kind he'd be; would be hanma shuji. the school's resident delinquent.

she felt a blush sneak its way from her neck to her cheeks.

it's not like she was complaining of course, he was a sight for sore eyes; almost all the girls would agree they'd date him if it weren't for his personality (which screamed 'red flag').

but if you ask (y/n), shuji's personality was arguably half of his appeal. something about dating a tough delinquent sent a shiver of excitement down her spine.

a boy rough and rugged to the world and soft for only her. as cringy as it sounded, its like a fantasy come to life. still an embarrassing thing to admit to herself.

she shook her head to rid herself of any wandering thoughts, this wasn't the time to build castles in spain; she has to get ready for school.

regardless, a single thought remained clinging to the walls of her mind even as she turned the water off.

would hanma be coming to school today?

october 3rd, 7:31 am.

draken felt like passing out, throwing up, punching someone and screaming at the top of his lungs all at once.

his black eyes looking over the graffiti painted on his bike shop wall, a penis and a beautifully drawn flower— you could guess which one he was upset about more.

𓂺 <— draken written over his precious wall– it's not like it's in view of potential customers but still, an insult is an insult.

"at least they didn't add the ballsack." mikey commented in hopes of easing his best friend's anger, nibbling on a piece of taiyaki.

"you're not helping, mikey.." takemichi sweatdropped, he and hina wanted to walk to school together but decided to pay a visit to mikey & draken — finding the latter slumped in front of his bike-shop wall.

"i'm gonna kill them, whoever it is that did this. im gonna tear out their eyeballs." draken angrily mumbled, almost shaking from the sheer rage.

hina silently patted his back in a comforting manner...

... knowing the art style of the rose drawing
could only belong to (Y/n).

"i'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby."
