Grey Vritra
"Nico? what did he mean by that?"
I thought as Agrona's words keeps repeating inside my head.
"I still am not planning to tell you this but it seems that you've realized it by now, and yes he is Nico." Agrona said his voice is still the same as always.
"That means tha-"
"Yes, I am the one responsible of everything." He interrupted me before I can even finish my question.
"Everything?" I said with disbelief trying to confirm if my doubts are right.
"I am the reason why you are here right now, I am the reason why you've been reborn Grey. But a simple miscalculation happened and resulted to you being sent to Dicathen, that's when I lost grasp of you." Agrona said leaning his back on a wall. His eyes are closed and arms are crossed.
I was about to speak again but he beat me opening his mouth to speak once more. "I reincarnated you to help me on the war against the Asuras. And for you to become an anchor, an anchor for the reincarnation of the Legacy."
As he said those words, I lost it. Not only Nico but Cecilia too? He reincarnated us here just to become his weapon against the Asuras? Will Cecilia become a tool for war once again?
I activated realmheart, but this time I let it take control of my body. Sinking deep into its embrace I felt power surging through my body. The world felt like it was below me, and I was above everything. It felt like as if I'm a god.
Preparing to stop Agrona for using us and Cecilia once more, I absorbed almost all the mana in my surrounding and focused it all in my arm.
“Grey! Let him explain first!" Elijah, or Nico shouted from behind the two Scythes who's protecting him from me.
“What the fuck are you blabbering about? He's trying to use Cecilia again!" I shouted back at him venom laced into my voice.
“Just fucking listen to me! It will benefit us in the long run! Grey!" Nico shouted once more which made me stop.
This Nico is much more different when I last saw him. Nico at that time was just full of hatred towards me because I 'killed' Cecilia. But now he seems to be like the same old Nico I know.
I deactivated realmheart and released a deep sigh. After deactivating, I felt like all the energy in my body got drained at once. I fell down in one knee and started coughing blood.
To my surprise, the one who helped me first was Caera who I totally forgot that she's here with me.
“Oho, so this is the girl you keep telling me about." Agrona said, I looked up and saw him not leaning on the wall anymore as he approached Caera who's kneeling besides me helping me out.
“Hello Caera, Grey told me a lot about you." He said while grasping the hands of Caera together.
“What the hell is this old snake saying?" I thought thinking of what schemes Agrona is plotting again.
“He told me about this beautiful lady who managed to charm him just after a few seconds they met." The serious Agrona a few seconds ago disappeared and got replaced by this...uh.. what the fuck even is this?
“I'm so eager to find out who this lady is that my grandson keeps telling me. And behold, my one and only grandson brought you here in ny residence just after a week of meeting you. It brings happiness and tears to my eyes to see my grandchild becoming an adult." He explained pulling Caera's arm up to make her stand as she stood there frozen.
“Just what is this guy? I can't understand him at all. Is he an ally or a foe?" I thought and a few seconds later more blood gushed out of my mouth alarming the frozen Caera and Agrona.
“Grey!" Caera shouted out of concern and hurried towards me. But before she reached me Agrona held her shoulder to stop her. He then closed his distance and healed me? Is this a part of his magic too?
“I didn't heal you like how potions do. I merely just commanded your brain to heal yourself in a much faster rate."
He said lowering himself so that he could speak to me much closer.
“Now Grey, this is my offer. You help me beat the Asuras and I'll help you live your life to the fullest. This applies to those two as well." Agrona layed his offer in front of me, of course he added the last part to inform me that Nico and Cecilia is also a part of this deal.
“I accept." I said getting up myself with Caera also supporting me. I don't really have any choices right now and now that I only have a few people to protect gave me a much easier chance to decide that this path would be the best for me.
Agrona stood up and smirked. “That's great, and it seems like you're planning to attend in the Central Academy yet you still didn't enroll yourself." He said ridiculing me.
“Huh? do I still need to enroll?" I thought feeling stupid not remembering such an important detail.
“Do not fret, I already enrolled you there by myself. Also Nico would be attending there with you. He needs to be distracted not to disturb me here as I'm already busy finding a vessel for the legacy." Agrona said turning his back to me and started walking away. His two Scythes and Nico following him.
“I must say that I expected those horns to appear because of the horn I gave you but to think your horns would be similar to his." Agrona said stopping on his tracks. His voice now full of amusement. Even though I can't see his face, I know for a fact that there's a huge smirk covering his face.
“What do you mean by that? Who is this 'his' you're talking about!?" I shouted at him and he just chuckled at this.
“I gave his body to you, because of the fact that your body that time is already breaking down to pieces. I performed a taboo mana arts for that to happen. If you're curious about who's body is that, he's an ancient Asura who lived long long time ago." He said finally turning himself towards me.
“Asmodeus Vritra that is the name. I suggest not to look for answers on who he is as you won't find anything. The only one who knows about him except me is the Vritras and only them." Agrona explained and started to walk again.
“If you want to know who he is, then try knowing it yourself. He and you are one now so maybe that body will give you the information you seek." He said before finally leaving my line of sight.
“Grey! are you okay? ” Caera said with a worried face. “Yes Caera I am okay, but are you though?" I asked her, not even have the courage to look at her.
“Ah, yes I am okay. The High Sovereigns is scary and his pressure is overwhelming but thank you for protecting me." She said and helped me sit down on the floor back leaning on the wall.
“No that's not what I mean. Are you okay after hearing what Agrona just said?" I asked, my voice starting to crack.
“Don't worry about that. You said you will tell me about it in the future. It's not your fault that the High sovereign revealed it prematurely." Caera said sitting down beside me, not even an inch of a gap between our bodies.
“And if you're worried about me treating you like an old man then don't worry about it. I've been the student of Scythe Seris for years now so I'm used to something like that. And age doesn't really mean anything to the Asuras right?" Caera said bringing her side tilted face in front of me.
“I guess you're right." I said giving her a small smile. “That's good that you easily manage to smile again.” She said, sending me a smile back.
“Well, since it have come to this wanna walk together back home and listen to my story?" I asked her standing up and grabbing her hands making her also stand up.
“Sure, why not? let's go back home Grey." Caera said while holding my hands tightly.
( there's more)

“I'm sorry for asking about it Grey, that's insensitive of me."
“It's okay, I've already accepted everything. What we're suppose to do now is think of how can we escape Seris's lecture." I said to her as we are close to the mansion.
“I'll let you explain, It's your fault to begin with." Caera said sending me a grin. I can't do anything but to accept it. Now all I need to do is brace myself on the lectures Seris will put me through.
We both walked to the mansion until we're now just by the main door. I grabbed and twisted the handle to open it. After I opened it, the one who welcomed us is an angry Seris ready to take me on a lecture session.
I turned my head to Caera's direction to ask for some help but she's not there anymore. “I'll see you tomorrow Grey!" Caera shouted already up the stairs and ran to her room abandoning me.
“Grey Vritra, care to explain why did the both of you arrived this late?" Seris said with a fake small smile and eyebrows twitching.
“I'm dead"
//////
Two days have passed since I told Caera everything. To my surprise she took it quite easily, is it because we're still not close enough? or a completely different thing that's unknown to me?
Seris went out for business and left the two of us here in the mansion. Cylrit came here this morning to give us food as he always do and immediately left. I'm now on the couch just relaxing because Seris said that we should rest today onwards to prepare for school.
Ding*
I heard the doorbell ring one time and decided to check it. Caera is now in her room resting after Seris 'trained' her or should I say torture her.
I approached the door and opened it twisting the doorhandle. I opened it and saw none other than Elijah or Nico now outside the mansion standing in front of me.
“Uh... what?" I asked him not knowing what to say.
“Agrona said that I'll be staying here before I go to the academy.” Nico said walking past me and entering inside. “So where's my room?" Nico said looking back at me.
“What the hell are you talking about? Agrona only said that you'll attend in the academy with us not live with us!"
I shouted, confused with what's happening right now.
“Shut it! Do you think I know why did he sent me here!?" Nico shouted back at me
I want to shout back at him but remembered that Caera is still sleeping upstairs. And I really don't want Caera to wake up because of a scary reason.
sighhh “Go upstairs and go right. There's only two rooms in there. One is mine and the other on the left side is empty, use that." I said with a low voice to him and he nodded even though he's confused. He walked but I stopped him.
“And also don't make too much noise making your way up there. I promise that you don't want someone to wake up because of that. You'll experience true terror." I said to him letting him go. It seems he understood it and walked gently going to the vacant room.
A few minutes have passed and Nico then came back in the living room sitting across the sofa I'm laying on.
Awkward silence covered the whole room as no one here in the two of us wanted to speak first.
“Nico... I'm sorry for what I did." I said closing my eyes not wanting to see anything just this time.
“sighhhh Nah, don't worry about it, it's a big misunderstanding. I already know what really happened back then. I-it's just that, that time I just can't accept the fact that Cecilia died." I opened my eyes and saw Nico with a face full of guilt.
“Let's just do our best to bring back Cecil here. Isn't that why we're even here in the first place?" I asked him trying to encourage and increase his confidence on this matter.
“Yeah, we'll save Cecil this time." Nico said standing up, his voice full of determination. He then extended his fist towards me asking for a fist bump.
“Yes, let's save her and live our life to the fullest." I said with a smile, extending my fist to bump his while still laying down on the couch.
“You've become a lazy bastard Grey."
Nico said with amusement drawn on his face.
“Being a king who only fights has its advantages"
