"no fucking way!" yeosang's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. he grabbed onto wooyoung's arm and squeezed it, "tell me everything".
wooyoung rolled his eyes but smiled. truly, he had no intention of telling anyone anything regarding him and san, but it was hard to deny anything when yeosang literally saw wooyoung walk in with san.
"later" wooyoung replied and walked away from yeosang to grab a frying pan, "we have breakfast to make". yeosang snatched the pan out of wooyoung's pan, "who cares about breakfast? my best friend is in love".
it was odd feeling. wooyoung and yeosang talked often about personal things but when it came to relationships, yeosang would talk and wooyoung would always listen. having the roles reversed was really strange to wooyoung.
"who confessed first? how did it happen? are you dating now?" yeosang bombarded him with questions.
wooyoung sighed, knowing that yeosang wasn't going to allow wooyoung to avoid this conversation, "san confessed first" he began, leaning against the counter, "i mean, i knew he liked me for a while, he made it very clear".
yeosang smiled in a knowing way and crossed his arms, "i was right then?" he asked, referring to their first conversation about san in yeosang's apartment.
"yes, fine. you were right" wooyoung admitted. "i can't believe this!" yeosang exclaimed and aggressively hugged wooyoung, "i'm so happy for you".
wooyoung coughed, struggling in yeosang's tight grip, "yeosang, i can't breathe" he gasped, pulling yeosang away.
"sorry" yeosang chuckled, "i'm really surprised though. this is so out of character for you". wooyoung couldn't help but agree with that. with the way wooyoung was and how he lived his life, him being able to fall in love was the last thing he expected.
"so, is he your boyfriend now?" wooyoung froze. now that he thought about it, he and san never talked about what they were. maybe theu just assumed they were together because they both reciprocated the same feelings for each other but there was never an official label put on their relationship.
"um...i don't know" yeosang frowned, "what do you mean?".
wooyoung looked down, "we never talked about it". sometimes wooyoung wished he had been in a relationship before just so he had some experience. was this something he had to be worried about?
"wait, he didn't ask you?" yeosang scoffed. wooyoung looked at yeosang, puzzled, "ask me what?".
"to be your boyfriend, you idiot" yeosang stressed, "are you both just going to act like a couple without being an actual couple?".
wooyoung wasn't sure if yeosang was making the whole boyfriend thing a bigger deal than it really was, but since yeosang had experience maybe it was something that was important. in all honesty, wooyoung was fine with how things were going with him and san. it had already taken him so long to come to terms with his feelings and finally admit them out loud to san, so wooyoung didn't think putting on a label on their relationship would change anything. he knew that san loved him and he loved san and that was all he cared about.
"morning. breakfast looks good" seonghwa sat down and grabbed a plate, "where is everyone?".
"still asleep maybe" yeosang responded. seonghwa rolled his eyes, "one thing. i ask everyone to eat meals together and those lazy asses can't even get up for breakfast" he mumbled.
"i'll get jongho" yeosang sighed as he got up from his seat. he looked at wooyoung, "you go get san and yunho".
wooyoung walked towards yunho and san's room, noticing that the door was closed, he raised his hand to knock on it, but the sound of their voices made wooyoung halt his actions.
"i think you're confused. no one, especially you, falls in love that quickly". it wasn't polite to listen in, and wooyoung knew that, but he couldn't help himself from pressing his ear against the door to hear what they were talking about.
"you don't understand, yunho" san sighed, "i've never felt more sure about my feelings. no one, not even jiyeon, has ever made me feel this way". wooyoung felt his heart pound in his chest, there was something comforting about the way san talked about how he felt so openly.
"what's so special about him anyway? and just how well do you know him? he could be toying with your emotions and you'd be too naive to even notice" yunho argued back.
"yunho, stop" san snapped back, "i get that you care about me but you're overstepping. i know wooyoung. i love wooyoung and he loves me back, i know that. and because i love him, i won't allow you to treat him badly because you don't like him".
yunho snorted, "i never treated him badly. i've just been acting cautious around him, there's a difference".
"you're kidding, right?" san scoffed, "ever since you met wooyoung, you've been cold to him. don't think i haven't notice the things you mumble under your breath".
the tension in the room was palpable even through the door. although wooyoung didn't have the best thoughts about yunho, he didn't want them to fight, especially if the fight was over him.
he took a deep breath and knocked on the door lightly, deciding it was time to break the conversation.
"uh, breakfast is ready" wooyoung said quietly as he opened the door. san and yunho looked at him, looking slightly startled.
"thanks, wooyoung" san's gaze softened and he managed a small smile on his face, "we'll be right there" he responded as he got up from the bed and walked out of the room without sparing a single glance at yunho.
wooyoung stood awkwardly in the doorway, not knowing if he should follow san or stay put.
"how much did you hear?" yunho suddenly asked with his arms crossed. he didn't attempt to look at wooyoung and had a rather sour expression on his face.
"not much" wooyoung responded hesitantly.
yunho sighed and ran his hand through his hair, "i guess you've replaced me" he said, glancing up at wooyoung, "you're now the most important person in san's life".
wooyoung frowned, "why would i replace you? you're still san's best friend". yunho rolled his eyes, "i don't know what it is, but there's something different about you. san was never like this with jiyeon. he didn't care this much about her when they were dating".
wooyoung was truly tired of yunho and his attitude, but he couldn't help but feel a little bad for him. so even though he didn't want to, he walked in the room and sat next to him on the bed.
"i haven't known san for that long", wooyoung began, "but i know he cares about the people he's close with. i know you're skeptical about our relationship but i promise you, i really do love san and i'm not replacing anyone. just because i'm in san's life now doesn't mean you'll be pushed out".
yunho stayed quiet for a while, like he was taking in every single word wooyoung said. "do you really love him?" yunho asked softly.
wooyoung nodded, "i didn't think i would, but i do. a lot more than i thought".
yunho took a deep breath and looked at wooyoung, "i believe you. i'm just worried. he's been hurt before and it's hard to see him that way. and this thing with you was so sudden".
wooyoung was slowly starting to understand yunho. even though he didn't agree with how yunho reacted to his concerns, he could see why yunho's been acting so stand-offish around him. he just cared about his friend and didn't want to see him hurt.
"i won't hurt him" wooyoung said, "i know you don't trust me but i can't allow myself to hurt san". yunho nodded, "no, i do trust you". he glanced at wooyoung, "wooyoung...i'm sorry for the way i've been treating you. you didn't deserve that".
wooyoung smiled at yunho, "it's okay". yunho smiled back and wooyoung felt a sense of relief wash over him. he had finally gotten through to yunho.
