to say san was excited was a complete understatement. he was over the moon, out of his mind excited. so much so, that he wasn't able to sleep the night before. not having to get up early to go to the office for a whole week had its perks for sure, but being able to spend that whole week with the person that lived in san's mind 24/7 was something that san couldn't even begin to describe.

still, there was something off. san knew yunho wasn't exactly thrilled with the addition of yeosang and wooyoung and he couldn't help but feel something happened between the time wooyoung sat in his seat and san going around the car to sit in his. he couldn't quite put his finger on it but there was a certain tension in the air. everyone in the car talked among each other but wooyoung stayed silent. he looked down mostly, except for the times he would look out the window but for the most part he seemed...disengaged.

san didn't want to push wooyoung, he already seemed way out of his comfort zone and it was like this when they played laser tag. san came to the conclusion that maybe wooyoung felt shy or awkward. he just hoped that things would get better as the trip went along.

three hours into the drive, san noticed the car went silent. glancing at the rearview mirror, seonghwa had fallen asleep, his head leaned on his window. jongho and yeosang had also fallen asleep, using each other as their pillows. san frowned, those two had gotten awfully close. san had known jongho for a few years now and even they weren't that close. and yunho had been asleep for at least an hour now. he also didn't say much but san had expected that.

san took a peak at wooyoung. his head was leaning forward and his eyes were closed. san smiled to himself and used on hand to reach over and gently push wooyoung's head back so he would be in a more comfortable position.

wooyoung's eyes fluttered open at san's touch and he looked at him confused in his sleepy state.

every time san saw wooyoung, he found himself in a daze, staring at his undenying beauty. wooyoung just looked so perfect in san's eyes.

"go back to sleep" san said to wooyoung softly, grabbing his hand and tracing circles on it, "i'll wake you up when we get there". wooyoung blinked, his face twisting into an expression of horror as he immediately pulled his hand away from san's.

san couldn't lie and say that he didn't feel a little hurt by that, it stung for sure, but he understood wooyoung. it's not like san told his friends how he felt about wooyoung and they weren't dating, but it did suck to have to hide. he wanted to be able to hold wooyoung's hand without fearing anyone was watching them.

"they're asleep" san muttered, reaching for wooyoung's hand again, only for wooyoung to cross his arms. "you can't do stuff like that" wooyoung said blankly. san frowned, he glanced at wooyoung before returning his eyes back to the road.

"are you okay?" san asked, "you've been really quiet this whole time". from the corner of his eyes, san could see wooyoung fiddling with his fingers, "i'm fine" he said. there was more to it, san was sure of that, but wooyoung didn't look like he wanted to expand further.

san stepped out the car, stretching while the others went to grab their stuff or go inside the cabin. like earlier, before wooyoung had the opportunity to grab his suitcase, san went to the trunk, and grabbed it, accidentally pushing yunho in the process.

"what the fuck, san?" yunho grumbled, shooting san a glare. "sorry" san mumbled, patting yunho's shoulder. it was unnerving to see yunho so negative. this time last year, yunho would be the one jumping up around, bringing up the energy.

"i can take my own stuff" wooyoung reached his hand out to grab the handle of his suitcase but san gently pushed his hand down, "i got it, wooyoung" he said, flashing wooyoung a big smile. yunho, who was watching looked at san and wooyoung before sighing and walking into the cabin, muttering something san couldn't hear under his breath.

"are you gonna do this the whole time? treat me like someone who can't take care of themselves?" wooyoung asked with his hands on his hips, "because i can do things on my own. i don't need you to do anything for me".

"i never said you can't do stuff on your own, i want to take care of you. is that wrong?" san asked, ruffling wooyoung's hair, "i know you're more than capable".

wooyoung stepped back, rolling his eyes at san before turning to head inside. san sighed and followed, pulling both his and wooyoung's luggage with him. there was definately something off with wooyoung.

"we should decide on roommates" jongho mentioned as they all sat down on the couches inside, "there's six of us and three rooms". san perked up, maybe this was his chance to be with wooyoung.

"we wouldn't have to share rooms if we didn't have unexpected guests" yunho spat out, glaring at wooyoung. san noticed this and frowned, what was yunho's issue? as far as san knew, wooyoung and yunho never spoke directly to each other so what about wooyoung made yunho so upset?

"you're being really immature" seonghwa scolded. yunho rolled his eyes before looking down.

"sangie and i can share a room" jongho offered. san frowned, sangie? "wooyoung can room with me" seonghwa said and san's frown only further deepened. he wanted to share a room with wooyoung. by the looks of it though, wooyoung seemed relieved. he smiled at seonghwa and san felt a burning sensation in him. san didn't like the way wooyoung was smiling at seonghwa.

"it's decided then. let's rest for a bit and we can eat later" jongho said while getting up, yeosang following behind with their luggage. san sighed and watched as seonghwa pulled wooyoung along with him. that burning sensation was only getting stronger.

in their room, yunho sprawled himself on one of the beds, pulling his phone out and scrolling. san dropped marched up to yunho and snatched the phone out of his hand

"hey! give it back" yunho sat up. "what the fuck is your issue?" san growled, tossing yunho's phone on the other bed.

"my issue? you just took my phone" yunho's eyes widened slightly at the tone of san's voice. "i'm not talking about that. i'm talking about your attitude. why are you treating wooyoung so badly?".

yunho scrunched up his face, "how am i treating him badly? i barely talked to the guy". san narrowed his eyes, "then what was that in the other room? why are you so bothered every time wooyoung's name is mentioned?".

yunho scoffed, "i'm not bothered".

"but you are" san countered back and yunho stood up in front of san, towering over him with. his height.

"you wanna know why i'm so bothered? it's because i don't trust him. how long have you known him, two weeks? and you brought him on our trip! ever since you've met him you've been acting weird. you avoid me, ditch our plans to hang out with this guy, and hide stuff. i'm your closest friend, san, and i feel like you're choosing him over me".

san stared at yunho, "you don't like him because you're jealous i'm spending more time with him?".

"i'm not jealous, san. i'm upset! why was he such a secret? you always tell me everything" yunho's voice quivered and his face was red. san's eyes widened and he hurridely pulled yunho into a hug.

"i'm sorry" san muttered while he stroked yunho's hair to calm him down, "i didn't know you felt that way". he pulled away and looked at yunho, "but wooyoung didn't do anything. if you're upset, be upset with me".

yunho nodded and looked down, "i see that you're happier when he's around though", he looked back at san, "why did you hide your friendship with him?". san paused, he wanted to be honest. he wanted to tell yunho all about wooyoung and how wooyoung made him feel.

"i didn't mean to, it's just wooyoung's really shy and i didn't want to overwhelm him". yunho stared at san, "you know i saw, right?". san furrowed his eyebrows, "what?".

"i saw you hold his hand in the car".
