I kept my gaze locked on the figure. I moved to where my back was pressed against the glass. the figure started to move my way. My breathing stopped until another flash of lightning struck. The figure was Catman.
"Oh my gosh." I sighed out. My back relaxed but tightened again when I remember what happened earlier. I looked out the window again.
"Jewelie." He was now standing in front of me.
"What?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" I looked at him. I stood up and gave him a hard look.
"Tell you? I, to be truthful, I barely know you." He rolled his eyes.
"I know that! But this information could have been useful. We could have used your help with the Crimson Witch. Who else knows?"
"The only people who know are you, the rest of KISS, and Shag and Scoob. That's it."
"What about your parents?" His voice was irritated.
"My mother is dead and my father left not long after she died. I live with my stuck up aunt and she doesn't know. What interests me is that your upset that I didn't tell you when all of you are hiding your powers from me. Even though I already know!" I basically yelled.
"Wha-wha. How did, how do you remember?"
"It was kind of hard not to notice the knot on my head. I noticed as we were leaving the park and saw you guys disappear into a portal as streams of light. Also, Star doesn't hide his special eye!"
"Jewelie." He sighed and rubbed his neck. "I'm sorry. We were hiding our powers. We won't anymore. I'm also sorry about your parents. You having powers is just a surprise. I didn't know how to react and I reacted wrong."
"Yeah a little." I muttered. He smiled.
"It's awesome that you have powers. I overreacted in the wrong way." He stepped closer. "I would like to get to know you better."
"Yeah. I'd like to get to know you too." He grabbed my hand. I noticed his glove was cold and wet. I looked him over. "Cat, you soaking wet."
"Peter." I gave him a confused look. "My real name is Peter."
"Okay, Peter. You're soaking wet." He nodded. "For someone who hates rain, you walked right out into it."
"Yeah, I should go get changed." I nodded. "And then we can either talk, sleep, or something?"
"Sure." I sat on the couch. He turned on some lights and went into his room. He was gone for a good bit and I just watched the storm. Peter sat next to me and just watched me.
"You're beautiful, you know." I blushed and turned to him.
"I've been told."
"Jewels, when did your mom die?"
"When I was 8. I lived in Detroit at the time. My father travel a lot and my mother was...never mind. She was killed in a mugging in front of me. My father than sighed over custody to my Aunt Megan. I moved to Coolsville where I met the gang."
"And your dad?"
"Disappeared off the face of the Earth." I shrugged. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me into him.
"What was his name?"
"Flynn Froster."
"Hmm. Sounds familiar." I shrugged and laid my head on his shoulder. I relaxed and closed my eyes.
"He traveled a lot so who knows." We were quiet for the next few minutes. His hand was rubbing circles on my hip. It was peaceful.
"Why did you decide to tell us?" I opened my eyes and sat up.
"Starchild. He caught me and Shag talking about it and asked. Hard to hide it after that."
"Can I see it?" I nodded. I moved back a little on the couch so there was room between us. I conjured up a flame. It danced in my palm. I moved my hands and formed different shapes.
"Shag and Scooby found out by accident." I blew the fire out and lent back.
"I think it's amazing." He grabbed my hands.
"Thanks."
