Chapter 77: Reassure

Once Rogue left the room, Lucy leaned against the fridge door with her fingers touching her lips. Whenever they kissed, there was always a tingling sensation remaining on her lips. She didn't hate it, but it was always there, reminding her that they both shared a kiss. Her mind exploding in humiliation, she sank to the floor and rested the side of her face to her arm. Her heart racing as she remembered how shocked he looked when she took the initiative, she smiled to herself.

"This feeling is much better than my previous love," she muttered to herself before her heart ached. It wasn't that she missed her old crush, it was just that she missed the people that she bonded with over the years while she was still with Fairy Tail. She questioned how they were all doing, but then again, they all doubted her.

Sighing, she got up and poked her head out of the kitchen to find herself staring into the living room where she could see Rogue. Her mate was resting on the lounge with his eyes closed so she went back into the kitchen and continued cutting up the rest of the ingredients. Her mind still in a blur, she placed the ham and the cheese into one mixing bowl. Pouring in a portion of the wet mixture into the bowl, she began to mix before scattering the dry ingredients without a proper order.

In her mind, she was creating a series of 'what-ifs'. What if she was still with Fairy Tail and lived through watching Natsu's and Lisanna's public display of affection? What if Natsu considered her feelings?

She shook her head as she began to create other quiche mixtures. If she remained in Fairy Tail, she was confident that she would be become an outcast where her life would be miserable from the lies.
Sighing, she poured all of the mixtures into the cupcake trays to allow simpler handling when they're baked. Her mind swirling in circles, she knew that doubting her future would create further issues.

"Hime..." A voice whispered where Lucy looked over her shoulder to see Virgo standing there with her straight face. Nodding her head to the pink-haired maid, she watched Virgo approach her.
"Your presence is much stronger than before... Anyways, let me finish this for you while you go to Sakura-sama. We can sense hime's doubt in the other world," said Virgo as she took over Lucy's place.

The maid bowing her head, she said one thing that made Lucy feel bad. "Hime, we left Fairy Tail to join Sabertooth. This guild is better than the previous and we all enjoy watching you smile," she stated before picking up the baking tray. "You should go and get rid your last remaining doubts..." With that, she then watched Lucy excuse herself.

Lucy leaving to see Rogue completely asleep, she softly smiled. He looked free of worries and was sleeping like he needed it. Walking over to him where she leaned down and brushed his stray strands of hair away from his face, she kissed him on the forehead before heading to the door.
She knew that she should've told Rogue that she was heading out but she didn't want to wake him up from his rest. Opening the door to only look over her shoulder, she faced the front quietly and went to the surface where she saw Sakurine talking to the wolves in front of her.

"Now I don't want you to feel like you're both under threat whenever you're passing by or patrolling the area. Whatever you do, like my territory, you will not attack the new residents of this place... Protect them," the crimson instructed before turning her head to smile to the blonde. "Why are you out here Lucy? Shouldn't you be inside and resting with Rogue?" she asked, tipping her head to the side.

Lucy sadly smiling, feeling slightly tired, she shook her head. "I was told to come to you and ease my mind and doubts from Virgo," she replied where she watched Sakura furrow her brows slightly. She knew that Sakura was slightly confused but either way, she was grateful when she saw Sakura dismissing the wolves that went stalking into the shadows.

Walking over to the crimson, they sat a distance away from the edge of the lake. "So, what's the problem?" She frowned to the question before hugging her knees. "I was doubting my future again..." she whispered.
