HALF AN HOUR PASSED, AND RAEVANNA NOW STOOD OUTSIDE TONY'S ROOM, TALKING TO NEBULA AND ROCKET. Pepper was by Tony's beside, while Diana leaned against the wall in the hallway across from the door as she watched Tony, and Rhodey, Carol, Natasha, and Steve stood across from Diana, also watching Tony. Diana had been silent since she had spoken with Steve, and though her face didn't show it, Raevanna knew she was still upset with them. Still, Raevanna had hope that she wouldn't let her anger get in the way of their mission.

"So lemme get this straight," Rocket said to Raevanna. "You're this... magical creature called a faery, but you look, sound, and act like a human?"

Raevanna nodded. "That's right."

"Well, where are your wings, then?" Rocket asked. "Didn't you say faeries have wings?"

"They do," Raevanna said. "But I also said that I don't have them out all the time, I usually hide them when I don't need them or when I need to be inconspicuous."

"But why must you hide them so often?" Nebula asked. "From what you and your friend have told me, your wings are beautiful. Why keep them out of sight, even when you don't need them?"

"Because, Smurfette," Raevanna said with an eyeroll, "Wings aren't something that's normal here, and if I were to walk around with my wings out all the time I would get captured, shot, or worse."

Both aliens were silent for a moment before Rocket grinned and nudged Nebula's leg with his elbow. "I like her," he said.

"Bruce gave him a sedative," Rhodey said, catching the trio's attention as he referred to Tony. "He's gonna probably be out for the rest of the day."

"You guys take care of him," Carol said from her spot beside them. "And I'll bring him a Xorrian Elixir when I come back." Then, without waiting for a reply, she turned and walked away.

Raevanna frowned in confusion. "Where are you going?" she asked.

Carol didn't even look back as she said, "To kill Thanos."

Natasha and Raevanna shared a look before walking after her.

"Hey, you know, we usually work as a team here," Natasha said to Carol, causing the blonde woman to stop and face her. "And between you and I, morale's a little fragile."

"We realize up there is more your territory, but this is our fight too," Raevanna agreed.

That was when Diana finally spoke. "Do you even know where he is?" she asked, causing everyone to look at her.

Carol raised an eyebrow at Diana. "I know people who might."

"Don't bother," Nebula said from her spot behind Carol. "I can tell you where Thanos is." Everyone faced her, so she explained, "Thanos spent a long time trying to perfect me. And when he worked, he talked about his great plan. Even disassembled, I wanted to please him. I'd ask 'where would we go once his plan was complete?'. His answer was always the same: 'To the Garden.'"

"That's cute, Thanos has a retirement plan," Rhodey commented.

"So where is he?" Steve asked.

That was when Rocket stepped forward. "When Thanos snapped his fingers," he said, "Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one's ever seen anything like it... Until two days ago." He brought up a hologram of a planet, with a shockwave visibly traversing the surface. "On this planet."

"Thanos is there," Nebula said.

Natasha nodded. "He used the stones again."

"Hey, hey, hey," Bruce said, jumping in quickly. "We'd be going in short-handed, you know."

Rhodey nodded in agreement. "Look, he's still got the stones, so–"

"So let's get him," Carol said, cutting him off. "Use them to bring everyone back."

Rhodey looked at her. "Just like that?"

"Yeah, just like that," Steve said, sharing a knowing look with Carol.

"Even if there's a small chance that we can undo this..." Natasha said, looking around at the people in the room. "I mean, we owe it to everyone who's not in this room to try."

"I agree," Diana said, speaking up again. All eyes went to her once more, and she lifted her lowered head to face the other heroes. "I don't like the idea of leaving Earth unattended, even if it is only for a short time. But Natasha is right. We do owe it to everyone to try."

"But if we do this," Bruce said reluctantly, "how do we know it's gonna end any differently than it did before?"

"Because before, you didn't have me," Carol told him.

"Hey, new girl," Rhodey said to her, sounding slightly annoyed. "Everyone here is about that superhero life."

Raevanna nodded in agreement, also a little annoyed with Carol's cockiness. "And if you don't mind my asking," Raevanna said, "where the hell have you been all this time?"

"There are a lot of other planets in the universe," Carol replied. "And unfortunately, they didn't have you guys."

Thor, who had been eating a snack behind them the entire time time, stood up and walked over to Carol. She turned around to look at him, and Thor held his hand up, then caught his axe, Stormbreaker, as it flew over to him, the weapon missing Carol by inches. But she didn't even flinch; instead she simply smiled at the God of Thunder.

Thor smiled back. "I like this one," he said.

Steve nodded at the group. "Let's go get this son of a bitch."

An few hours later, everyone except for Tony were aboard the spaceship called the Benatar, flying through space to stop Thanos for good. Raevanna sat next to Steve, her hands gripping her knees as she stared out the window. This was their last chance. Their last chance to bring back what they'd lost, and restore everything to the way it had been before. If they failed now, there were no do-overs. What had been done would be permanent... forever.

"Hey," Steve said, noticing his girlfriend's nervousness. "You okay?"

Raevanna nodded. "I'm alright. It's just..." She sighed. "I miss them."

Steve nodded, reaching out and putting his hand on her knee. "I know. I miss them too. But we're gonna bring them back. Whatever it takes."

Raevanna smiled softly, assured by his words. "Whatever it takes."

"Okay, who here hasn't been to space?" Rocket suddenly asked, bringing their focus to him.

Diana, Natasha, Steve, Raevanna, and Rhodey all raised their hands.

"Why?" Rhodey asked.

Rocket glared at them. "You better not throw up on my ship."

Nebula waved at Rocket, catching his attention. "Approaching jump in 3... 2... 1!"

The ship suddenly jumped forward into a wormhole, with Steve and the others holding onto their seats for dear life. Raevanna was impressed when she saw that only Diana remained calm, looking straight ahead as the ship then slowed down and hovered in orbit of the planet they had seen in the hologram. Carol, who had been flying beside them, hovered in front of the ship.

"I'll head down for recon," Carol told them, then flew down to the surface of the planet.

While Carol was down, Raevanna and the other passengers quietly prepared for the impending confrontation inside the Benatar. Raevanna sighed as she tied her hair back into a ponytail and waved her hand over her torso, causing a sword to magically appear on her left hip and a gun to appear on her right. Then, she looked up at Steve, seeing that he looked as nervous as she still felt.

"This is gonna work, Steve," Raevanna said, trying to assure him like he had done for her.

Steve nodded. "I know it will." He kissed her forehead, then hugged her close to him as he added, "Cause I don't know what I'm going to do if it doesn't."

"It will work," Raevanna said, then muttered to herself, "It has to."

That was when Carol approached the Benatar, hovering in front of them again.

"No satellites, no ships, no armies, no ground defenses of any kind," she said. "It's just him."

"And that's enough," Nebula answered.

Rocket took the ship down to the surface while Steve went over their attack plan. Once they broke the planet's atmosphere, they saw it was a lush tropical paradise, and as they landed Raevanna could see a farm in the distance. This is it, she thought. We only have one shot at this.

They all exited the ship. As they grew closer, they readied their weapons before the group split up, going in separate directions. This is gonna to work, Raevanna told herself. It's gonna work. It... it has to.

Carol attacked first, flying through the roof of the shed Thanos was in and knocking him down before grabbing his neck. Then it was Bruce in the Hulkbuster armor, bursting from the ground and grabbing Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet arm. Diana came in next, whipping out her Lasso of Truth and binding Thanos in it before wrapping one end around her forearm to keep him from moving. Next it was Raevanna, crashing through the roof after Carol and using her magic to seal Thanos' legs in thick stone. Then, Thor flew in and sliced off the Infinity Gauntlet with Stormbreaker, followed by Rhodey, who flew down with Rocket and aimed their guns on Thanos' head. Finally, Steve walked in, with Natasha right behind him as they stared murderously at Thanos.

Rocket went over to the sliced off Infinity Gauntlet and kicked it over, and everyone immediately realized that there were no stones in it.

"Oh no," Rocket said softly.

"Where are they?" Steve demanded.

When Thanos was silent, Carol tightened her hold on his neck and hissed, "Answer the question!"

"The universe required correction," Thanos replied. "After that, the stones served no purpose, beyond temptation."

"You murdered trillions!" Bruce snapped, pushing Thanos to the ground.

"You should be grateful," Thanos answered, only to be punched by Bruce.

"Where are the Stones?" Natasha asked.

"Gone," Thanos told her. "Reduced to atoms."

No, Raevanna thought, her heart jolting in fear. It's not true. It can't be true. "You used them two days ago!" she snapped, masking her fear with anger.

"I used the stones to destroy the stones," Thanos told her. "It nearly killed me. But the work is done. It always will be." He sat himself a little straighter. "I am... inevitable."

Raevanna shook her head, feeling more and more horrified as the reality of his words set in. This can't be happening, she thought. He's lying. He has to be!

"We have to tear this place apart," Rhodey said, voicing Raevanna's thoughts. "He-he-he has to be lying."

"My father is many things," Nebula said. "A liar is not one of them."

Thanos faced her. "Ah, thank you, daughter." Nebula looked down uncomfortably, and Thanos went on. "Perhaps I treated you too harshly."

Raevanna and Diana looked at Thor, seeing his face fill with rage as he raised his hand to summon Stormbreaker. Then, before anyone could stop him, he sliced Thanos' head clean off, and Thanos' limp body fell to the floor as Nebula wiped some of the blood spatter off her face.

Horrified, Raevanna stepped back, staring at Thanos' decapitated head, and Diana let go of her Lasso, the magical lariat dropping to the ground. Raevanna felt the now-familiar feeling of dread and fear fill her body at the realization that their only chance to reverse what had been done was now gone. They had failed.

Snapping her head up to face him, Diana asked quietly and with a voice full of despair, "What... What did you do?"

Thor looked broken as he stared at Thanos, realizing what he had done. "I went for the head," he said softly.

Then, Thor slowly walked out of the shed, no real purpose in his steps as the others stared after him. Thanos had been right; he was inevitable. What was done was done. There was nothing any of them could do now.

Absolutely nothing.
