Throne III's POV
He called to reserve valet parking the day after so it won't be a hassle to park his car by himself.
After she gave him her passport, he queued in the VIP and business class lane to get a boarding pass and to check in their suitcases.
Since there are only a few passengers, he finished quickly. He is walking back to the bench she seated. He observed her from afar. She may not wear long, skimpy gowns and high-heeled stilettos, but she carried herself with such elegance. Maybe because she's a fashion designer, he thought.
She's young and beautiful. Only twenty-three. He remembered it when Alden asked her age and she told him on the day he offered her this deal. He could see that her eyes are closed. She seems to dream.
He sits down beside her and takes his briefcase from her lap.
"What are you dreaming?" he asked.
"I'm not dreaming; I'm just imagining how I look walking in the sand with a big stomach." She said, she opened her eyes and looked at him.
"I'm sure you will look good with your big stomach. You're tall and slim, and I'm not very sure if it will be bigger." He said, staring at her flat stomach.
He too imagining how she will look like having a big stomach. How her flat stomach grows with his baby inside.
She smiled, showing her beautiful, even, white teeth. She's beautiful, but she did not worry whether her figure will change after having a baby, unlike that woman who is very conscious about her figure.
"You're not worrying that your figure will change after giving birth?" he asked.
"Nope. My mom's body didn't change after she gave birth to me. And it's a part of a woman's life. So that's fine; at least I will experience it. Some only dream about it." She replied smiling.
"I think it's time for boarding. Let's go." He said, standing up; he helped her stand up too.
"Thanks," she said.
"That's Thirdy. Thirdy!" He heard his name called by unknown voices.
The people suddenly in front of them. He held her hand and walked past the group of people.
They are the paparazzi.
"Is she your new woman now, Thirdy?" someone asked.
He didn't respond.
"Can the security guards take care of them?" He told one of the airport staff assisting them.
The woman is actually on the radio calling for assistance.
A moment later he saw the securities coming to block the paparazzi that are trying to get close to them. He pulls her to walk faster. He forgot that he's always attacked by paparazzi. He is sure that they will be on the news.
"Wow, you're popular. You're a star," she said, smiling at him.
"Yes, I am, and now you are too because your picture and mine will be on the news," he replied.
He's not sure if this woman knows him. She's so innocent, and he forgot to protect her.
"Let's go to the boarding gate quickly," he added.
"Aye aye, sir." She replied with a salute.
He chuckled; at least in this situation she still has her vibrant spirit that brightens up the situation. They are just in time when they arrive; they are in the last queue.
The flight attendant guides them to their cabin.
"Wow, it's very nice. It's my first time flying, you know. I'm excited," she said, hugging his arms.
"Well, I'm glad I'm the first one to get you fly." He said he doesn't mind her hugging his arms. In fact, he likes it.
"Hope you'll like your place, sir, ma'am. If you need anything, just ring us," said the attendant.
"Thank you!" She said, smiling sweetly.
This is his first time flying with such a sweet lady in tow. Those he brought with him don't even know how to say thank you, let alone smile.
"You're welcome." The attendant replied with a smile too.
"Which one would you like to sit in, inside or at the aisle?" he asked.
"Aisle," she replied. He never asks anymore.
She let go of his arms so he could move to his seat. She sits down after he passed. When the plane begins to move, she looks at him.
"Are we going to fly now?" she asked.
"The plane will position on the runway first before it speeds up to ascend," he replied.
"Oh," she just said.
"It's speeding up," she said after.
He knows that they are now ready to fly. He's been flying most of his life since he was a small child. His eyes landed on her hands holding tightly on the armrest. Her eyes are closed, and she's bitten her lips.
"Ayinah?" He calls her name, but she doesn't move or even respond.
He takes her hand from the armrest and holds it in his. It's very cold, he thought. She must have a fear of flying. He could see the tiny drops of sweat on her forehead. In this very cold place, it is very unusual. He is worried. Hope that she does not have any heart problem. But she said they don't have any history in the family.
When the plane finally evened up in the air. He massages her hand.
"Ayinah, open your eyes. We are up here in the air now," he told her.
He wipes her sweat off her forehead with his palm. Even her sweat is cold. She opens her eyes and looks out the window and back to him.
"We are like in heaven," she said, smiling again.
She's one of a kind. After the fear she just experienced, she still can manage to smile.
"Thank you! I didn't know that I had a fear of flying, but I'm better now; only going up, I think, I hope that landing won't scare me," she said.
"You're welcome. But you're brave. You handled it. You didn't scream or panic," he replied.
"I think if you didn't hold my hand, I would scream," she said.
"Really? That means I did a good job here?" He asked, smiling.
"Aye aye, sir," she said, grinning, showing those beautiful white teeth.
"Next time you fly, you must have someone to hold your hand," he said.
She looks at him.
"Yes, I need someone to hold me when flying," she replied seriously.
Did he say something bad that made her mood change instantly?
