"Come on, come on. Should be just enough to finish the job." Stan handed me his fez and glove and wiped his head. "Whew." He said looking at his now glowing forehead. "Can't be too careful with this stuff." A red light flashed and a buzzer started going off. Stan started smiling at me "Hand me the journal." I gave him the first journal and he began reading. "Warning...blah blah blah, extreme usage could result in minor gravity anomalies... can it, poindexter!" He yelled slamming the journal shut. "We've come this far. I'm not giving up now!" He pushed a big button. "Yes, this is it." I looked at Stan who was now floating in the air with me. There was a loud thump before I fell to the floor. "It's gonna be a bumpy ride, but it'll be worth it." He was playing with his watch and it began counting down. "Just eighteen more hours. Finally, everything changes. Today." I looked at him and smiled. Although I had no idea what was going on and what Stan was doing I was told to help out and not to tell anyone I know. If he was to get caught I was to destroy everything and tell no one what has happened.

"ugh, Mabel it's so early," I whined as she pulled me and Dipper down a hallway. "Ahh! It's here it's here!" I sighed looking at the door. "Okay, so I was just opening random doors - because I'm a creep - when I found something amazing." I rubbed my eyes looking at her. "If it was worth waking up at seven AM for, that will be amazing," Dipper stated also rubbing his eyes. "Feast your eyes!" She opened the closet door to find fireworks. "DO NOT TOUCH!" Was written on the side of the box. "Crazy rooftop fireworks party!" They yelled at each other. "Not so fast, kids! There is no way on earth you're setting off those dangerous, illegal fireworks." He smiled bending down and touching their shoulders. "Without me." I smiled brightly and we ran off to the roof.

"Here you go, sweetie," Stan said lighting a rocket for Mabel. "Set something on fire for your Grunkle Stan." She aimed the rocket and screamed. "I AM THE GOD OF DESTRUCTION!" It shot off. "Hold on a minute. Do you have a permit for those?" Me and Dipper looked at each other. "Uh..." Stan smiled. "Uh, do you have a permit for being totally lame?" We all started laughing and the officers chuckled. "Well, I can't argue with that. Carry on." Bulbs said before walking away. "But seriously though we should probably clean this mess up." I looked around and looked at the small fires. "With water balloons?" Mabel asked looking at Stan. "I don't see why not."

Stan and I sat on the porch while the twins were playing with the water balloons. "To Grunkle Stan! Not just a great uncle!" Mabel said holding up an ice pop. "The greatest uncle!" Dipper finished throwing a balloon at us. "Alright, alright. I tell you it's unnatural for siblings to get along as well as you do." He said looking at them. "Ha-ha! Don't worry we've still got plenty of summer left." Mabel yelled attacking Dipper in a hug. "To drive each other crazy!" I laughed along with them when Stan started nervously laughing. "Yeah, plenty of summer left." He rubbed the back of his head. "Kids, there's something I, uh, something I should tell you. It's um." He scratched his chin. "Well it's complicated. I...I'm gonna go refresh my soda!" He walked off and the twins looked at me. "What was that?" I shrugged. "No idea," I said looking around.

"What the-" Mabel asked looking around at agents that were surrounding us. Dipper gasped and I looked around, I was still on the porch and no one had seen me. "Kids are secure. Roof team! Go!" Agents came rappeling down out of a helicopter and into the shack. I snuck in and hid in the secret spot in the kitchen when I looked out of the window they were putting Stan in the back of a car. "Stan?" I whispered looking over at him in handcuffs. "Ugh! Hey, hands off, you stooge!" An agent puts Stans face on the trunk of a car. "Aah! I don't understand! What did I do that warrants this much arresting?" I looked over at the door. The secret project. I looked back out of the window. "The government guys? I thought you got eaten by zombies!" Dipper yelled looking at them. "We survived. Barley."

"This is security footage of a government waste facility." He said holding up a tablet to the twins. I couldn't see it but I already knew what it was. It was a video of him stealing the dangerous waste. I heard someone coming and I hid behind the curtain. "Wait! Grunkle Stan! You've got the wrong guy! Our Grunkle Stan might shoplift the occasional tangerine, but he's not some evil super villain!" Mabel said to the agent. "Listen, kid. We've been watching your family all summer and we've seen some disturbing things. But nothing as dangerous as what your uncle is hiding. Somewhere hidden in this shack is a doomsday device." I bit my lip. "Trigger, you take the children. I'll talk to the old man." He looked back at the twins. "Sorry to break it to you kids. But you don't know your uncle at all." An agent took the twins away and put them in a car. I caught Dipper looking and I waved at him. "I'll get you." I mouthed before hiding back in the house. "There's another somewhere. She's lived with him for a while. Find her."  I quickly ran out of the window and hid in the woods. "Heading into work. Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo" Wendy sang stopping and looking at me. "Or maybe not." She said looking at the agents and walking away.I grabbed the golf cart and drove through the woods. "I'll cut them off at the interstate," I said out loud before hitting the pedal and driving faster.

I drove to the car and looked at them in the back. They were looking at some screen and talking about something. Dipper looked out of the window and smiled at me. I pointed at the truck in front of them and then to Mabel. She smiled rolling down her window and shouting to Manly Dan. "SEVERAL TIMEZ IS OVERRATED!" Manly Dan screamed before ramming the car. "Mayda! Mayday! Agent down!" They screamed and I pulled up next to them. "Guys come on!" I yelled looking at them. "Requesting back up! A third child has been found." Dipper took out the mans earpiece and crushed it. "Come on, Dipper. We're gonna go clear our uncle's name." I looked at them and smiled. "Oh, you poor kids. You really think your uncle's innocent? I've seen it all before." I looked at the agent. "False names, double lives, one minute they're playing water balloons and the next they're building doomsday devices. Your uncle scammed the whole world. You gonna let him scam you, too? She's not even real. She's just a machine built by your uncle." The agent said looking at me. "You...You don't know what you're talking about." Dipper said getting in the golf cart before I drove away.

"Alright, here's the plan. I'll take out those two guard guys, you karate chop the other dude in the neck and then we'll back flip through the front door!" Mabel said to us. "Mabel, aren't you forgetting the simpler solution?" Dipper asked her. "Oh right." She took out her grappling hook and shot it through the window sending us through to the attic.

"Alright. If I was Stan, where would I hide those surveillance tapes?" Dipper asked as we walked around Stans office. I had only been in here a few times and it always creeped me out. "Wait! The antelabbit!" I looked at Mabel. "You mean the jackalope?" Dipper asked. "Pfft, that can't be right." She fixed the jackalope's bent antler and the wall turned around to reveal two old TV's. "Yes!" They yelled out. They went through the tapes. "Ha! There it is! Stan restocking like he said! And the date shows it was last night! It's proof! He's innocent." I looked at the tape and watched Stan walk out at 7 PM. "Uh no," Dipper said fast forwarding the footage as he still hadn't come back. "Uh, maybe he's just going to the bathroom outdoors. The way nature intended." Mabel said looking at the TV. 5 AM was displayed when someone walked into the shack in a hazmat suit. "Oh no, Stan, you didn't..." Dipper said looking at it. "Don't panic that could be anyone it that suit." I bit my lip knowing what was coming. "Gah! Hot Belgian waffles! Wait, I'm alone. I can swear for real! SON OF A-" Dipper turned it off. "That's him alright." I looked at them.  "Okay, okay, so maybe Grunkle Stan stole some toxic waste. That doesn;t mean he's leading a nefarious double life!" Dipper was looking through a box. "Mabel, I'm not so sure about that..." I looked in the box and saw passports and ids. "Stetson minefield?" I asked looking at it. "Hal Forrester? Andrew 8-ball Alcatraz." I read again. "They're all fake ids. Mabel! You wouldn't need these unless you were trying to hide your real identity!" Dipper yelled. "But why would Stan do that?" I looked at the papers in the box. "STAN PINES DEAD!" It read, I grabbed it and looked through. "Foul play suspected in Pines' death. Fiery car crash, brakes cut...by who?!" I read to them. I looked at the others and handed one to Dipper. "Baby found in woods missing!" Dipper said looking at them all. "Unnamed grifter at large? Why would they call him unnamed? Unless Stan." Dipper said looking at us. "Isn't..." Mabel finished. "Stan?!" We all looked at the photo of Stan.

I sat on the floor looking through the newspaper clippings while Mabel and Dipper spoke. I read through the ones about a baby being found. 'Baby who was found in the woods stolen from orphanage unnamed suspect is to believe to be dangerous and untrustworthy.' I flicked through to another one. 'Woodland baby still not found, suspected to be dead.' I frowned and looked at more. They were starting to make my head spin. I was about to read more when I heard Mabel shout Vending Machine. "What?" I asked looking at them.

"Soos?" Dipper asked looking at Soos who was in front of the vending machine. "Ahh! Oh, kids! Where've you been?" He asked looking at us. "What are you doing here?" Dipper asked ignoring his question. "Stan gave me a mission to protect this machine! Ha! And I thought I loved snacks." I looked at him. "Soos, listen. Something huge is going on here. If Stan is hiding some dangerous secret, we need to find out what it is! I need you to step aside." Dipper said looking at him. I shook my head. "Guys maybe this is a big misunderstanding!" I said trying to stop them. "I'm sorry Soos," Mabel said blowing glitter in his face and jumping on him. They entered the code I had seen Stan do so many times. "It's like something from a video game.." Soos said looking at the secret passageway. "Or a dream," Mabel added. "Or a nightmare," Dipper said looking at me.

We all walked into the lab and I looked around acting as though I had never seen it. "Guys, are we dreaming? Somebody wake me up." Mabel said looking around. "This can't be real..." Dipper said looking at all of the equipment. "I don't understand. Why would Mr. Pines have all this?" I looked around and then to the three. "It's just like that bunker in the woods..." Dipper said again. "But what is it doing underneath The Mystery Shack?" Soos asked. "Okay, okay, so he's got a huge gigantic lab. That doesn't mean anything bad! Everyone's got secrets." Mabel said noticing the photo of us three and picks it up. "It's still Stan, and he loves us. And we love him. Right?" I looked around and noticed my scarf, I picked it up hiding it behind a machine. "It can't be...it's impossible. The other two journals? All this time...all this time, Stan had them?! I can't believe it! Was anything he said to us real?!" He kicked the desk and looked at me. "Why would he have those journals?! Are you fake like that agent said!" He walked over to me and poked me. "Dipper no I'm real!" I said pushing him off me. "Maybe he's the author," Soos said to us. "Or maybe he stole them from the author. Maybe the reason he has all those fake IDs is because he is a master criminal and this machine is his master plan!" He opened each other journals to the page with a portal on it. He switched on the black light and gasped.  "I was wrong the whole time. The machine was meant to create knowledge but it is too powerful. I was deceived and now it is too late. The device, if fully operational, could tear our universe apart! It must not fall into the wrong hands. If the clock ever reaches zero, our universe is doomed!" We looked at the countdown clock and it said a minute 30 seconds. "It's the final countdown! Just like they always sung about!" Soos yelled.

Dipper flipped through the journal. "The agents were right! We have to shut it down! There quick! Turn these, together." Dipper said as he, Mabel, and Soos turned keys. A device popped up from the ground. "That's it! The shutdown switch! This all stops....now!" He went to slam his hand on the button when Stan ran in out of breath. "DON'T TOUCH THAT BUTTON!" He yelled panting in the doorway. "Dipper, just back away." Dipper kept his hand inches above the button. "Please don't press that shutdown button, you gotta trust me." I looked at Dipper who was red in the face. "And I should trust you why?! After you stole radioactive waste? After you lied to us all summer?! I don't even know who are you!" He yelled out to him. "Look, I know this all seems nuts, but I need that machine to stay on! If you'd just let me explain-" His watched beeped. "Uh-oh, oh, no! Brace yourselves!" We all lifted into the air and towards the machine. "T minus thirty-five seconds." Stan was spinning around. "Ahhh!" Dipper yelled grabbing onto a wooden support beam. "Dipper!" Mabel yelled as her ankle was hooked in a wire. "Mabel! Shut it down!" Dipper yelled at her. She crawled towards it. "No! Mabel. Mabel, wait! Stop!" Stan said floating over to her but Soos knocked him back. "Soos, what're you doing?!" He hit Soos in the head. "I gave you an order!" Soos held him back. "Sorry, Mr. Pines - if that is your real name - but I have a new mission now! Protecting these kids!" He said looking at us all. "Soos, you idiot, let me go!" Dipper pushed the support beam against Stan and Soos and I held onto the wall. "Go! Mabel, press the red button! Shut it down!" I shook my head. "Mabel don't!" I yelled looking at her and then to Dipper who was glaring at me. "No, you can't!" Stan cried out. "You gotta trust me." Mabel was crying holding onto the button stand with her legs crossed floating in the air. "Grunkle Stan." She said crying. "I don't even know if you're my grunkle! I wanna believe you, but-" Stan cut her off. "Then listen to me. Remember this morning when I said I wanted to tell you guys something?" He said looking at them "T-minus twenty seconds." I looked over at the portal that was flashing. Mabel was ready to push the button. "I wanted to say that you're gonna hear some bad things about me, and some of them are true," He said looking over at me. "ut trust me. Everything I've worked for, everything I care about, it's all for this family!" He said looking at Mabel. "Mabel, what if he's lying? This thing could destroy the universe! Listen to your head!" Dipper yelled looking from his sister to me. "Look into my head, Mabel! You really think I'm a bad guy?" I looked at her. "He's lying! Shut it down NOW!" Dipper yelled at her. "Mabel he's telling the truth." Dipper glared at me again. "Mabel, please." Stan begged. "Ten. Nine." I looked over at her. "Grunkle Stan..." She said looking at him. "Six. Five." She let go of the stand. "I trust you." She said before floating upwards. Dipper grabbed my hand. "MABEL, ARE YOU CRAZY?! WE'RE ALL GONNA-" "ONE!" The computer said. Everything went white. "NO!" Dipper screamed grabbing hold of me as we screamed.

I was laid on the floor in Dippers arm when a blue light faded. We stood up looking at a figured that was now in the room. "What...? Who is that?" Dipper asked looking at the figure who placed a six-fingered hand on the first journal picking it up and putting it in his coat. "The author of the journals..." Stan said looking at the figure. The man took off his goggles revealing his face. He looked exactly like Stan. "My brother." Stan finished looking at the other man. "Is this the part where one of us faints?" Mabel asked. "Ohoho, I am so on it dude," Soos said before falling to the floor next to me and Dipper.
