Reiko hummed softly as she carefully arranged the plates on the long dining table, doing her best to ignore the chaos erupting around her. Miyo and Endou were attempting to organize everyone, but Yumi had decided that glitter belonged everywhere, including on poor Hikaru's head. Adam and Soji were desperately trying to rescue the food from Yato, who had somehow convinced himself that eating more would make him stronger for Goldie.

Hakuryuu and Kyousuke were having another heated argument about something trivial, probably who got to sit closer to Yui, while Yui herself was yelling at both of them to shut up. Riccardo just sighed, subtly trying to keep Yui from throwing something heavy at one of their heads.

In the middle of it all, Reiko was the calm eye of the storm, effortlessly multitasking between cooking, arranging the food, and gently scolding anyone who dared to mess up her setup. She barely noticed when a familiar presence moved up behind her, two strong arms wrapping around her waist.

"You're doing too much again," Kenichi murmured against her ear, his deep voice sending a pleasant shiver down her spine.

Reiko smiled, leaning back into his embrace. "Someone has to keep this place from burning down. Besides, it's nice seeing everyone together... even if it's a complete disaster."

Kenichi chuckled, his breath warm against her neck. "I came to see you, not a disaster."

Reiko laughed softly and turned in his arms, resting her hands on his chest. "You're just mad because Yui insulted your fashion sense."

Kenichi's eyes narrowed slightly. "She called me a 'wannabe biker who got lost on the way to the retirement home.'"

Reiko bit back a giggle. "She's just being Yui. You know how she is."

Kenichi's expression softened as he looked at her, his hands resting comfortably on her waist. "You shouldn't overwork yourself just because they're acting like idiots."

Reiko raised a brow. "Says the man who once tried to fix a broken window with duct tape."

"That was one time," Kenichi grumbled, but his lips twitched with amusement. "And it worked. Sort of."

Before Reiko could respond, a loud crash echoed through the room. They both turned to see Tenma tangled up in streamers, his face a mixture of horror and regret as Aki scolded him. In the background, Yato was wailing dramatically because Kinako had told him to stop being weird.

Reiko sighed. "If I let go for even a second, this whole place turns into a circus."

Kenichi cupped her face gently, forcing her to focus on him. "Let them. You deserve a break. Come outside with me for a minute."

Reiko hesitated, glancing back at the half-set table, but Kenichi didn't give her a chance to argue. He took her hand and guided her to the back door, pushing it open and stepping into the cool evening air. The noise from inside was muffled now, and the garden was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun.

Kenichi leaned against the porch railing, pulling Reiko closer. She settled against his chest, savoring the rare moment of peace. He kissed the top of her head, his hand running through her hair.

"You really missed me that much?" Reiko teased, blushing.

Kenichi smirked. "I'd say it's more like I missed keeping you out of trouble. You're too soft with them."

Reiko smiled, pressing a gentle kiss to his jaw. "I don't mind. Besides, you're not exactly intimidating either. Yumi practically owns you." She giggles, caressing his cheek.

Kenichi scoffed. "She's three. Can't exactly argue with that."

They stood like that for a while, wrapped up in each other, until the tranquility was inevitably shattered.

"HEY! WHO THE HELL TOOK MY DRINK?!" Kyousuke's voice roared from inside, followed by Hakuryuu's nonchalant, "It was terrible anyway."

Reiko sighed. "It never ends."

Kenichi just chuckled, pressing his lips against her forehead. "Let them destroy the house. They'll probably knock each other out eventually."

Before she could respond, a soccer ball came flying through the open door, narrowly missing Kenichi's head and slamming into a potted plant. Yui's voice followed immediately after.

"WHO KICKED THAT? I'M GONNA MURDER YOU!"

Kenichi raised a brow, completely unbothered. "Think it's safer to hide out here for a while."

Reiko couldn't help but laugh. "You really think hiding will save you?"

Kenichi shrugged. "If I get caught, I'll just blame Kyousuke. Kid's already in enough trouble to take one more hit."

She gave him a playful smack on the chest. "That's terrible."

He grinned, finally leaning down to capture her lips in a soft, unhurried kiss. Reiko melted into it, her hands sliding up to his shoulders. For a moment, the noise inside was completely forgotten, and all she could focus on was the warmth of his embrace.

When they finally broke apart, Reiko's cheeks were slightly flushed. Kenichi just looked smug, brushing a thumb over her lower lip.

"You're mine, Reiko..." he murmured.

Reiko arched a brow. "Possessive, aren't we?"

"Only when someone tries to steal you away," he replied casually.

Before Reiko could respond, Yato burst through the door, looking frantic. "Reiko! Help! Goldie's mad at me again, and Yui's trying to throw me out of the window!"

Reiko groaned, resting her forehead against Kenichi's chest. "Why does it always have to be Yui?"

Kenichi sighed. "You have a golden patience, my dear. How did they become like this?"

"Blame Endou," she muttered. "He's the one who made them think chaos is normal."

Yato looked between them, utterly confused. "Uh... should I come back later?"

Kenichi gave him a flat look. "Yes."

Yato hesitated, then yelped when Yui's voice called from inside. "I SWEAR IF YOU'RE HIDING OUTSIDE, I'M GONNA USE YOU AS TARGET PRACTICE!"

Yato quickly vanished back into the house, and Reiko couldn't help but laugh. Kenichi just sighed, shaking his head.

"I'm never getting used to this," he muttered.

Reiko kissed him softly, a gentle smile on her lips. "Then don't. Just stay with me..."

Kenichi wrapped his arms around her again, pulling her close. "Like I'd go anywhere without you."

Inside, someone screamed about food being stolen, and it sounded like Kyousuke and Hakuryuu were about to murder each other again. Reiko just sighed, leaning against her man with a content smile.

If love was chaotic, then at least she'd found someone who could stand in the eye of the storm with her.
