Every good story starts with "Once upon a time..."; in a tucked away country lived four races Avians, who ruled the skies and make the best crafts and their carpentry was next level, building elegant homes for themselves and some of the highest members of society would hire them to build them marvelous homes. Void-Walkers were the more advanced race building machines unlike anything see before and using magic from this world as its source they took their machines even further than what they taught was conceivable. Terrainites lived underground forming massive cities and created a new underground biosphere growing new types of plants still being researched, the last race were simply known as Hybrids. The first three had some people among their races were born with special abilities corresponding to each of their heritage, for Void-Walkers; some could displace energy no matter its source, some Avians had a special technique known as the Elegant Blitz and if done right they could achieve breakneck speeds capable of piercing some of the thickest armor. Terrainites had the uncanny ability to control and morph any minerals and crystals which made them optimal for smelting armor and made them versatile warriors. Hybrids had a chance of being born with different abilities depending on their heritage and was different with every new hybrid, this lead many to believe that they would rise up and completely ruin society. So a group known as the Hybrid Hunters would travel town to town, village to village, terrorizing and killing any and all hybrids and their parents along with anyone who would house them in hiding. August Halloway was a Terrainite/Avian hybrid, his father would take him down to the mines outside of their village and they would bring back some minerals and crystals they would find and his mother taught him how to make trinkets with them which they sold to the markets. It wasn't too long till the Hybrid Hunters found their village and laid waste to it.
