A sci-fi short story that imagines a future wherein the human race is divided into two subspecies: 'The Overmen' (adapted from Nietzche's philosophy of the 'Übermensch') who are genetically modified "superhumans" and 'The Inferiors' who are normal or "natural" human beings who have been thrust into a circumstance of poverty to compensate for the luxury of the Overmen. This story is a work in progress and may be developed into a novella or novel in the future; it was used for an Extension English Sci-Fi Creative Writing Piece and the alternative title is: 'Acidic Rain'. The themes and inspiration reflect current social trends and responses to breakthroughs in the field of scientific progress.
