"Deepika, please look at me."

Her empty eyes kept gazing into an oblivion, as I tried to coax her, to plead with her, to beg her to spare me a glance. A single glance.

"Please baby."

A sob broke through me, but still - nothing. No sign of her hearing my words, responding to them. I dared to extend my palm on her cheek. She blinked.

She did blink. That would do for now. That has to.

"I will make everything alright baby. Every single thing."

"You can't.", her broken whisper was enough to shatter my heart into a thousand pieces as I wondered how she had catered to her broken pieces, and for how long.

Was it all too late?
