I was quiet. "That really bothered you that much?"
He nodded. "Yeah. I knew it would bother you. And it bothered me, too. For other reasons, though."
"Other reasons?" I echoed.
Now it was his turn to be quiet for a moment. I could see that he was thinking, debating in his head.
"This isn't how I imagined it at all. Pouring, in a parking lot, just after I leave detention. It's kind of funny," Mischa nearly laughed, but didn't.
I just looked at him, confused, heart pounding.
"There's something that I really need to say. And if I hold it in any longer, It'll eat away at me."
