"Have you heard?" Yasmine asked you. It was a regular school day at lunchtime.

Everyone was chattering on their phones whilst eating the cafeteria food. You were still waiting on Sam. Moon and Yasmine had went to a concert recently, so you used your ticket to replace it with Sam. Today you hadn't seen Sam talk to the two girls at all.

"Heard what?" You ask, biting your hotdog.

"Oh my god, you didn't hear about Kyler and Sam? Movie theater?" Moon tried to explain.

"No? Did their date go well? How did it go down?" Seriously, Sam hadn't texted anything!

Yasmine laughed, "We know what went down...and who went down."

You quickly connected the dots, "Ew! What, no way. No way Sam would do that." You shook your head. The whole thing seemed so out of line.

"It's true, Kyler told us." Moon claimed.

"Kyler told you? Yeah, how'd that go?" You drop the topic and try to open up your LapTop on your lap. You frown as you don't notice the screen loading, yet you had fully charged it. "I definitely have to go to Tech Town..." you mumble.

During your Laptop trouble, you had missed the interaction of Sam trying to join in the table. Your back had always been facing the table, so you never noticed anything behind you. You simply saw as Yasmine set her bag off the table and to the chair next to her. At the time, you shrugged it off and assumed she did it to do it.

As you were shutting off your Laptop screen and setting it back into your bag, you notice Sam walk over to Kyler and hit his back. She looked livid.

"Think it's funny to spread lies about me?" Sam crossed her arms.

"What are you talking about? We saw a movie, and that's it." Kyler said, "Well, maybe I saw a little bit more than you."

Your face scrunched in disgust as your table all looked over to the interaction.

"Yeah, we heard you got pretty "choked up."" Another one of Kyler's friend joked, and his whole friend group laughed.

Sam angrily slid Kyler's food tray off the table. Now everyone had their eyes on them.

Kyler simply looked around, "Hey, guys. You know that billboard with a big-ass dick on it? I guess Sam takes after her dad."

Sam began to stand in a fighting stance. Was she about to use her dad's karate lessons on him? You thought that'd be real entertainment.

"Hey, Kyler!" Guess Sam wasn't. The guy, actually, you recognized him as plaid shirt guy, chimed in. "Why don't you shut the hell up and stop being such an asshole?"

"Ooh!" The crowd instigated.

"Want another beat down, 'Rhea? Kyler gave the guy a shove. "I'm ready for your lame-ass karate this time." And another shove against a table, you notice poor Aisha stand up and back away.

"It's not lame-ass karate." He blocked Kyler's punch, "It's Cobra Kai." He then punched Kyler's nose.

You immediately took out your phone to record it, you weren't the holiest angel.

Kyler slammed the dude on a table, then to another by his neck. Then the plaid guy elbowed him and got out of the headlock, and gave him a punch and kick to collide with the corner of a table.

"No mercy!" Aisha yelled out.

Then all of Kyler's friends tried to join in, but they miserably failed. Whatever Cobra Kai was, the students had a good teacher. And whoever plaid shirt guy was, this was some great marketing.

The fight ended with him on a lunch table, holding a red tray down after he had just hit Kyler with it. The school applauded as he simply stared at Sam. Now this...this was a way better match.

"Hey! Get down from there right now." Counselor Blatt was the true Fun Police. She took the guy to the office as everyone still cheered for him.

It was an impressive feat. Plaid shirt guy got Sam's attention, and beat the shit out of Kyler and his friends.

Right after the lunch fiasco, you had a free period. You went into your car with your laptop stored inside the bag, and you drove to TechTown. You were a bit nervous to be talking to a worker, you didn't know exactly what you'd say to explain why you were there. As you walked inside, you fidgeted with the hair tie on your wrist.

TechTown was just a technological place, literally just for appliances or fix a phone stuff. You rarely ever had to go to the repair, but it was a weird October this year.

You walked over to the front counter. And this was where you considered turning right back around. There was no reason why the worker working at the front desk looked so. . .attractive! He had green eyes and wore his longer hair in a short ponytail. And he looked better than most of the boys in school.

You stared blank eyed at the worker, who eyed you in the same way. "Um..." you stammered, then scowled to yourself at your stupidity. "Hi." You manage to mutter out.

"Hello." The worker simply gave a nod, "What'd you like here today at Tech-Town?" What you didn't know was that he was slightly growing anxious, and it wasn't fully for reasons you'd think that would boost your ego.

You set the Laptop on the counter, "It's not turning on, and for the past few days, it's been frozen or glitching screens. I don't know, it's just not properly functioning."

He stares into your eyes again before looking down at the Laptop, opening up the screen. "MacBook Pro, 13 inch-er, nice." He comments.

"Yup, only the best." You nod, though you've had it for majority of the year.

"We'll be getting this down in two hours tops. I'm going to need a name." He got a paper and a pen nearby. "And a number."

Is this. . .a flirt? Wait, no, idiot! It's his job!

You brush off your idiotic thoughts. "Y/N for the name." You reply, then gave your number. "So if I come back, I'll be able to just get it right here?" You question.

"Yup," he simply said, writing down the name and digits. He wrote it twice, it was a paper for all the information needed. "You'll be needing this, so then when you come back we know it'll be yours. We get MacBooks like this all the time, so it's easy to get it mixed up," he claims.

"Sure you do." You mindlessly nod, taking the paper and looking at his handwriting.

"That's all for now, feel free to come back soon, we'll be working hard to get this issue fixed." He gave a smile.

"Thanks..." You read his name tag, "Eduardo." You smile back, then turning around and leaving the store. You wanted to quickly come back from free period, it was basically a study hall.

Sam was trailing behind you in Tech Town as you were discussing with a clueless worker. Before you two were going on a window shopping hangout, you told her you'd be there to pick up your Laptop.

"Hey, what's going on? You were taking a while so I took the car keys with me and locked the doors." Sam whispered.

"I'm so fucking pissed." You reply to her, the actual employee was helplessly blabbering to their manager about the situation.

"Why? What'd they do to your Laptop? Is it fixed?" She was as clueless as the worker. Well, you couldn't bash on her right now, she didn't know nothing.

The only people who knew what happened during your free period at Tech Town was the cameras, you, and the identity fraud Eduardo.

"I can't believe you guys let this just happen! You didn't think to look at the worker and not recognize he was an employee?" You sighed, frustrated with the workers.

"Majority of us don't know each other." The employee told you, and you noticed the manager sigh and touch her temples. Maybe it was because the manager didn't want the employee to say that.

"Wait? What's going on, Y/N?" Sam was still confused.

"Tech-Town let a guy just steal my Laptop. Now I don't know where it went, and it was my own that I paid with my own money." You tell her. "I've been walking dogs all summer to get it, like how I could barely hang with you and Yas and Moon. I wanted to feel the earn of earning something, you know?"

Sam hummed, "Oh, shit. So what's gonna happen now?" She questioned, turning back to the employees.

"We are going to check the culprit through the cameras, we can give you some compensations!" The manager offered, "Sorry again, we will learn from this mistake."

"Yeah, get money to clearly identify who your employees are." You scoff, crossing your arms. "What kind of compensation money are talking about?" You then ask.

"A new Laptop. Free of charge." The employee instantly spoke, "Say, what was the model?"

"The newest MacBook." You replied, "13 inches, Apple product, a nice laptop." You describe.

"Ah, I see." The manager hummed, "I will go to the back, and we will sort this all out. Come with, come with!" She beckoned you and Sam to follow you. "It's only you, right? Not the other girl?"

"Yes, just me." You nod.

"Okay, then you," the manager pointed at Sam, "You stay in front desk."

"Sure, don't take too long." Sam accepted it, "I'll be walking to other stores. Call me when you're done." Sam just gave a thumbs up.

"Bye." You wave to her, and still give a glare at the manager.

You thought of it, you'd be quaking like her if you were in the manager's position. But you were still baffled on how easily the green eyed guy could just slip through. He really was a wolf in sheep clothing, his good looks seemed to fly over your head on his true intentions.

You didn't know a clue about fighting, but you knew you could give someone one hell of a punch to the face, and grab them by their neck and slam their against the wall like. . .Kyler! So the next time you'd see that Eduardo, it's gonna be on sight!

Sam, thankfully, didn't tell Moon nor Yasmine about the incident. Well, not like she could if she even wanted to. You were sure something went down between the three and you stood still there as a neutral. Scratch that, not neutral at all, you had stayed with Sam. Moon was very opposite to that idea, she wanted Sam to just apologize.

Though what was there for Sam to apologize for? The only person she owed an apology to was Aisha-in your humble opinion, of course.

Anyway, you sure as hell told your dad about the TechTown drama during dinner at the table. For this dinner night he cooked up fettuccine, and was very intrigued in hearing about the whole thing.

"Y/N, we could've sued them!" Your dad (for now, we will refer to him as Carlton-his name) advised, "Really missed opportunity."

"Just like how it was a missed opportunity to be more vigilant." You sighed.

"Well, don't let your mistakes take on you so often. Don't be like your mother too much."

The topic of your mother was something both sensitive to you. Now, you two just shake it off like a joke. But you did suspect yourself to obviously take after your mom. Apparently, she was a classy woman, a true beaut, and real educated. No one knows what ever happened to her, she ran away from the home when you were around two. And no one would plan to ever reveal it anyway.

But the mystery of her still lies on in your pondering head late at night.

"So, Y/N, I have other news to tell you." Your dad then spoke, having his hands folded. It looked like it was a business deal, so you were nervous.

"...yeah?" You look up at him, scraping your fork against the plate.

"I got you an apprenticeship at LaRusso Auto Deals." Carlton nonchalantly announced, and your face contorts into a confused expression.

"Um, I guess that's cool?" You try not to get so mad that he didn't tell you first. LaRusso Auto Deal had that current scandal in which someone spray painted a dick near his face, which was what Kyler referenced to during lunch. "Why?"

"I know you have friends in school like Sam, but I also know that this house is majority of the time empty." Carlton explained, "So maybe, I figured you could get yourself a job, and that money can go towards a new MacBook."

"Oh." You didn't know exactly how to feel. "Don't I have school? How will this work?" You then were even more confused. Not even Sam worked there.

"It'll work." Carlton assures, "If you're free, Daniel will give you a text so you can swing by and work there however long you and Daniel would like."

"Oh, okay. So I'll just be selling cars, cleaning up, being a janitor...?" You guessed.

"You'll get an experience working there, that's for sure." Carlton answered. "And I'll be sure everything runs smoothly, money is power," he reminded you.

"I know, I know, and I don't want to abuse that," you hummed in response. "Anyway, how long is your break?" You asked.

"I leave Monday...which I have to also remind you that day is when you start the job." He tells you.

"Okay." You simply nod. "Anyway, how'd you do it? I already have my own Laptop from Tech Town, and I vow to never go there again."

He sighs, "Y/N, it'll look good on your resume."
