You paced small circles around your room. Lance was supposed to be here any minute, for your usual Wednesday night anime binge.

You had been dating for about 3 earth months now. You really wanted to tell him how you truly felt. Only now he wasn't here and you could feel your words slipping away.

The door slid open revealing Lance holding a bowl of Altean popcorn.

"Okay, ready to get our binge on!" Lance placed the popcorn on the bed and walked over to give you a delicate kiss.

"Um Lance... before we start I uh, I have something I need to tell you." You bite your lip and rubbed your left arm.

Lance walked over and placed a hand over your right hand stopping the rubbing.

          "Go on. I'm listening."

You smiled reassured by his presence. Over the last 2 months he's picked up on your tell-tale signs of nervousness and stress. He has been slowly helping you move away from the bad habits with healthier ones.

"I want to say thank you. Thank you so much for being there for me even when I never asked for it. Thank you for helping me throughout all my terrible habits and stupid conditions. Thank you for being a shoulder to cry on, countless times. And finally, thank you for waiting for me to be able to let your love into my horribly armored heart. I'm sorry for putting you through all that..." You trailed off finding you had more to thank him for, but no words to express it wit. So taking a deep breathe you kissed Lance with all the passion of a thousand thank you's and all the love you had for him trapped in your heart.

Lance sat down on the bed, you sitting on him, still kissing. You broke off for air and stared into his dark blue eyes.

"I love you so much Lance." Your eyebrows knitted together and your lips turned up at the corners, slowly stretching into a smile.

"I love you too, (y/n). With all the light of 100 suns." Lance rested his forehead against yours.

'This can stay. Forever. It will last forever. Because we love each other.'

On the nightstand was a wood carving of two people holding hands. One was painted blue and the other red. Below their intertwined hands was a small purple heart.
