With trying to help Troy and Gabriella with their schedules and her practicing for the callbacks, Alyivia was worn out.
But she knew the outcome was going to be worth the work.
That morning Alyvia decided to go into school earlier to practice with Kelsi but her friend was nowhere to be seen.
She had looked everywhere for the girl and the first bell was about to ring so she just decided to head to the front door to wait for her brother and hope to see her friend in homeroom.
To her surprise as she made her way towards the door she noticed a figure that looked a lot like Kelsi standing near the call back sheet.
"Kelsi! There you are. I was waiting in the practice room for you all morning." Alyvia spoke but her friend didn't move a muscle. "Is everything okay?"
All Kelsi did was lift her hand, pointing at the sheet, causing Liv to finally notice the new yellow piece of paper.
"Oh no!" Alyvia exclaimed.
"What's wrong, Livi?" Troy said, approaching the duo with Gabriella at his side, quickly turning to the bulletin board. "Callback's the same time as the game?"
"And the scholastic decathlon." Gabriella spoke.
Alyvia looked back as she felt an arm go around her, causing her to find Chad the pair shared a small smile before turning their attention back to their friends.
"Why would they do that?" Taylor questioned.
"I smell a rat named Darbus." Chad said.
"I think two rats, neither of them named Darbus." Kelsi spoke up.
"Do you know something about this... small person?" Chad asked, causing Liv to hit the boy. "What?"
"Miss Darbus thinks she's protecting the show, but Ryan and Sharpay are only concerned with protecting themselves." Kelsi explained.
"Do you know what I'll do to those two show dogs?" Chad angrily said, pushing the basketball into the chest of the Zeke as he went to storm away.
"Nothing." Alyvia said, placing her hand on his chest, causing him to stop as he gave her a look. "We're not gonna do anything to them."
"Except sing, maybe." Troy adds, causing Liv to nod. "Alright. Now this is only gonna happen if we all work together. Now who's in?"
Gabriella, Kelsi and Alyvia all quickly put their hands on top of Troy's.
Liv felt a hand intertwined with her other one before, Chad and the other basketball players along with Taylor all put their hands in.
...
It was finally the day of the Callback...
And the Game...
And the Scholastic Decathlon.
The group had their work cut out for them but with teamwork, Liv believed they could make anything happen.
Liv was a busy bee the night and morning before.
She helped Zeke bake the girls and the Decathlon team a cake while she helped the girls make the boys banners.
She enjoyed spending quality time with her old and new friends.
Alyvia was sitting on the desk in front of Gabriella and Taylor in the homeroom as they talked that morning.
"So are you guys ready for the decathlon?" Alyvia asked, causing the girl's to share a look.
"I believe we're ready." Taylor spoke, confidently as Gabriella nodded.
"Yeah, just nervous is all." Gabriella admitted.
"Don't you worry." Alyvia said, grabbing both of their hands with a smile. "You're both gonna kill it. Besides, I'll be cheering you on in spirit."
Alyvia felt an arms wrap around her waist as a head full of curls came in her view as the Danforth boy placed his head on her shoulder, causing her to smile.
Liv watched Troy and Jason cover the girls eyes as Zeke brought in the π cake.
"A pi pie." Zeke said as the boys removed their hands, causing Gabriella and Taylor to gasp.
"Oh, my goodness!"
"Oh, my gosh!"
"Oh, we have something for you, too." Taylor said, causing Liv to slide off the desk.
"Yeah, come here, look." Gabriella said, following Taylor.
Alyvia grabbed Troy's and Chad's hands, pulling them toward the random board that had random equations, "Stand right here."
"Ta-da!" The three girls exclaimed, gesturing towards the board, causing the boys to grow confused.
"Oh, it's an... equation." Troy spoke, not knowing what to say, causing the girls to laugh as Gabriella flipped the board, revealing a poster.
"Oh!"
Some of the other members of the scholastic decathlon handed the trio plush basketballs as they began throwing them at the four basketball players, causing them to throw them back.
"Come on, Liv." Troy said, grabbing his sisters hand, pulling her to the door as Chad grabbed the Evan twins,
"Stay right there. Watch." Chad said as the basketball team lined up as Miss Darbus was making her way into the room. "From our team, to yours."
"G-O D-R-A-M-A C-L-U-B. EXCLAMATION POINT!"
Alyvia couldn't help but to chuckle at her boys.
"Well, it seems we Wildcats are in for an interesting afternoon." Miss Darbus spoke before walking away.
"Go dra... Go dray..." Ryan tried to sound it out, causing Sharpay to roll her eyes before walking away. "Drame?"
...
As the final bell of the day rang the halls filled with cheers as everyone was pumped up for something; most were excited for the big game happening in the gym.
Alyvia made her way towards the noise filled gym where she could see the boys warming up for the game.
"Hey." Alyvia shouted over the screaming fans as she reached out, touching her dad's arm.
"Hey Livi, your mom's over there somewhere." Mr. Bolton said, pointing behind him.
Alyvia followed the direction her dad pointed in, causing her to quickly spot her mom sending her a big grin and a wave before turning back to her dad.
"You should probably go grab your seat, the game is about to start soon." Mr. Bolton said, making his way towards the basket, the boys were doing line drills at. "Let's go boys!"
"Actually, I can't stay for the game, dad." Alyvia spoke, causing the man to quickly turn to his daughter. "Remember. I have a callback, the day got switched to today. It's literally in like 20 minutes and I can't miss it."
"That's right, the callback! Sweetie, I'm so sorry." Mr. Bolton said, looking from the girl back to the guys on the court. "I have a commitment here and I can't miss the game."
"Yeah, no. I know that." Alyvia said, shaking her head with a smile. "I just wanted to say good luck. you guys are gonna do great!"
"Thanks honey." Mr. Bolton said, pulling the girl into a quick hug. "And you're gonna do great at whatever a callback is."
"Thanks Dad." Alyvia said, letting out a chuckle before the man walked away as Troy and Chad approached.
"Are we all set?" Troy questioned.
"Yeah, Taylors got her computer set up so all she has to do is send the code and we'll be good to go." Alyvia said, causing the boy to smile.
"Bolton! Danforth! Get back in there!"
That caused the trio to quickly look over to Coach Bolton before quickly looking back to each other.
"It's fine, I gotta run anyways." Alyvia said, sending the boys a nervous smile.
"Don't worry, you got this." Chad said, placing a hand on the girl's shoulders, sending her a smile.
"Thanks. Good luck, boys." Alyvia said, sending the boys a smile before she turned around, quickly speed walking out of the gym.
Alyvia quickly walked over to the auditorium, where she quietly snuck in backstage.
"Hey." Alyvia quietly spoke as she appeared behind Kelsi, causing the girl to jump. "Sorry."
"Good, you're here." Kelsi said, smiling from ear to ear. "Are you ready?"
"I think so." Alyvia spoke, sounding unsure. "I mean, I know I know the songs but I'm just a little nervous is all."
"You'll be fine, Liv. You're a natural." Kelsi reassured the girl.
"Sharpay and Ryan!" Miss Darbus called from the other side of the curtain, causing Alyvia to make her way closer to the side stage where she was still hidden from the audience as she watched Ryan and Sharpay perform.
Mucho gusto
Aye que fabulosa
Rae aye aye aye
Arriba
¿Quieres bailar?
Mirame
I believe in dreaming
And shooting for the stars
Baby to be number one
You got to raise the bar
Kicking and a scratching
Grinding out my best
Anything it takes to climb
The ladder of success
Work our tails off everyday
Gotta bump the competition
Blow them all away
Caliente
Suave
Yeah we're gonna
Bop bop bop, bop to the top
Slip and slide and ride that rhythm
Jump and hop
Hop until we drop
And start again
Zip zap zop hop, flop like a mop
Scoot around the corner
Move it to the groove
Until the music stops
Do the bop bop bop
To the top
Don't ever stop
Bop to the top
Gimme gimme
"They're great, right?" Kelsi spoke from beside Alyvia.
"Yeah, they're definitely good." Alyvia said as her eyes never left the stage. "But I still think Troy and Gabriella can get the leads."
Kelsi sent the girl a smile before she disappeared leaving the Bolton girl alone.
Shake some booty and turn around
Flash a smile in their direction
Show some muscle, do the hustle
Alyvia peeked out the curtain and into the crowd and there was still no sight of Troy or Gabriella, causing the girl to grow worried.
"Where are they.." Alyvia mumbled to herself.
Yeah we're gonna
Bop bop bop, bop to the top
Wipe away your inhibitions
Stump stump stump, do the rump
And strut your stuff
Bop bop bop, straight to the top
We're going for the glory
We'll keep stepping up and we just won't stop
Till we reach the top
Bop to the top
As the music came to an end the few people who were in the crowd, clapped for the pair on stage along with Liv.
"Do you see why we love the theater, people? Well done!" Miss Darbus spoke, making her way onto the stage. "Ah. Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez."
The room was silent, causing Alyvia to look to still see no Troy or Gabriella, causing her to let out a sigh.
"Troy? Gabriella?" Miss. Darbus called again but there was still no response.
"They'll be here." Kelsi spoke up.
"The theater, as I have often pointed out, waits for no one. I'm sorry." Miss Darbus explains.
Kelsi gave the teacher one look before rushing towards the side stage.
"Kelsi." Alyvia called but the girl shook her head.
"It's fine, Sharpay and Ryan are gonna be the leads." Kelsi said, sending the girl a small smile. "Let's get you ready."
"Moving on Alyvia Bol-." Miss Darbus went to speak but the auditorium doors swung open as Troy and Gabriella came rushing in.
"Wait! Miss Darbus, wait!" Troy exclaimed, rushing towards the stage, causing Alyvia to quickly make her way back toward the curtain. "We're ready, we can sing."
"I called your names, twice." Miss. Darbus explained.
"Miss Darbus, please! Please!' Gabriella begged, running up on the stage.
"Rules are rules!" Miss Darbus firmly spoke.
The sound of multiple voices filled the auditorium as the people who had to evacuate the game and the decathlon made their way in.
"That's a lot of people." Alyivia said, looking over to Kelsi.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine Livi." Kelsi said, playing a hand on the girl's back as the girl to take a deep breath.
"We'll be happy to do it again for our fellow students." Sharpay said, rushing onto the stage with Ryan.
"I don't know what's going on here, but in any event, it's far too late and we have not got a pianist." Miss Darbus explained, causing the girls to quickly share a look.
"We'll sing without a piano." Troy said, causing Alyvia to quickly drag Kelsi back onto the stage,
"Oh, no you won't." Alyvia said, pushing the girl in front of her with a smile.
"Pianist here, Miss Darbus." Kelsi said, nodding her head.
"You really don't wanna do that." Sharpay said, stepping towards the girl.
"Yes, she really does." Alyvia says, taking a step in front of Kelsi, causing Sharpay to gasp.
"Ready on stage!" Kelsi exclaimed, making her way back towards her piano.
"Now that's showbiz." Miss Darbus says impressed, pointing at the Bolton girl before making her way off stage with Sharpay storming off stage with Ryan not too far behind.
"Here." Alyvia said, holding up two microphones towards Troy and Gabriella with a supportive smile. "Good luck."
Alyvia quickly made her way to the side stage as she watched the pair with admiration before Troy nodded at Kelsi to start.
The sound of the music filled the room but no words were sung as Gabriella stood there in fear.
The duo exchanged some words before the music started again.
We're soarin', flyin'
There's not a star in heaven
That we can't reach
If we're trying
So we're breaking free
You know the world can see us
In a way that's different than who we are
Creating space between us
'Til we're separate hearts
But your faith it gives me strength
Strength to believe
We're breakin' free
We're soarin', flyin'
There's not a star in heaven that we can't reach
If we're tryin', yeah, we're breakin' free
Oh, we're breakin' free (Ooh-ooh-ooh)
Can you feel it building?
Like a wave the ocean just can't control
Connected by a feelin', ooh, in our very souls (Very souls, oh)
Rising 'til it lifts us up, so everyone can see
We're breakin' free
We're soarin', flyin'
There's not a star in heaven that we can't reach
If we're tryin', yeah, we're breakin' free
Oh, we're breakin' free (Ooh-ooh-ooh)
Runnin', climbin'
To get to that place to be all that we can be
Now's the time, so we're breakin' free
We're breakin' free (Ooh, yeah)
More than hope, more than faith
Soarin', flyin'
There's not a star in heaven that we can't reach
If we're tryin', yeah, we're breakin' free (Breakin' free)
We're runnin', ooh, climbin'
To get to that place to be all that we can be (Be)
Now's the time (Now's the time), so we're breakin' free
Oh, we're breakin' free (Oh)
You know the world can see us
In a way that's different than who we are
Everyone in the crowd stood as the roared with cheering and applause for the duo.
"That was very splendid!" Miss Darbus said, making her way onto the edge of the stage, causing Gabriella and Troy to smile before making their way off the stage as everyone died down. "Now, Ms. Alyvia Bolton."
Alyvia closed her eyes letting out a deep breath as she gripped the microphone she held before she made her way onto the stage.
"Just breathe." Kelsi whispered to the girl, causing her to nod.
Alyvia looked out into the crowd seeing so many familiar faces, her eyes locked with her fathers as he leaned against the back wall causing a smile to grow on her face. "Ready?"
"Yeah."
The music filled the Bolton girl's ears and she felt like she was alone again in her bedroom.
No fear.
Can you see me?
'Cause I'm right here
Can you listen?
'Cause I've been trying to make you notice
What it would mean to me
To feel like somebody
We've been on our way to nowhere
Tryin' so hard to get there
And I say, oh
We're gonna let it show
We're gonna just let go of everything
Holding back our dreams
And try to make it come alive
Come on let it shine so they can see
We were meant to be
Somebody (somebody)
Somebody, yeah (somebody)
Somehow
Someday
Someway
Somebody
I'm so tired
Of being invisible
But I say
Oh, we're gonna let it show
We're gonna just let go of everything
Holding back our dreams
And try to make it come alive
Come on let it shine so they can see
We were meant to be
Somebody (somebody)
Somebody, yeah (somebody)
Somehow
Someday
Someway
Somebody
We will walk out of this darkness
Feel the spotlight glowing like a yellow sun
Oh oh oh oh oh and when we fall we fall together
Till we get back up and we will rise as one, oh, oh ,oh
Oh, we're gonna let it show
We're gonna just let go of everything
Holding back our dreams
And try to make it come alive
Come on let it shine so they can see
We were meant to be
Somebody (somebody)
Somebody, yeah (somebody)
Somehow
Someday
Someway
Somebody
Somebody
Ooh ohh oh
The crowd cheered loudly for the girl, causing her smile from ear to ear as her eyes locked with Chad's as he gave a thumbs with a smile, causing her to chuckle.
"Yeah, Liv!" Troy called from the side stage, causing the girl to quickly look over, pointing at her brother with a smile, causing him to do the same thing back.
...
"And West High pushing the ball. Fast break. Looking for an open man." The commentator spoke into the microphone.
Alyvia stood on the sideline with her camera in hand as she watched the game with so much anticipation.
"Come on, Troy!" Alyvia yelled as the boy stole the ball, pushing it back up the court the other way.
"East High has the ball! Time is running down on the clock! Looking for an open man. Fake. Swing to the outside. Ball in the perimeter. Looks for a man in the inside. Nice screen. Shot's up!... And it's good!"
Alyvia cheered with the crowd as her brother made the game winning shot, making the East High Wildcats championship
