It was the last day of school before summer started and the Wildcats couldn't contain their excitement for their break from school.
"You must remember, young thespians, learning is never seasonal. So, do allow the shimmering lights of summer to refresh and illuminate your fertile young minds." Miss Darbus' voice rose an octave, causing the teens to jump, waking some who had fallen asleep and snapping some from their daydreams.
"What's she talking about?" Chad whispered, looking over at the girl who was sitting beside him, causing her to shrug.
"I honestly couldn't tell you. I zoned out after the first five minutes." Alyvia admitted, causing them both to lightly chuckle.
"Classic Liv." Chad teased, smiling at the girl.
"The future greets you with its magic mirror..."
"Dude, Miss Darbus has snapped her cap." Troy spoke, leaning back towards Chad, gaining the duo's attention.
"Dude, you're actually listening?" Chad chuckled, causing Troy to quickly sit back up, making Alyvia chuckle at her brother.
Jason slowly raised his hand in the back of the classroom gaining the teacher's attention, "Yes, Jason."
The mention of the boy's name caused everyone to quickly turn their attention towards the back of the room.
"So, what was your favorite summer memory, Miss Darbus?" Jason asked, causing everyone to groan, turning their attention back to the front of the room.
"Summers have passed fleetingly since I was your age..."
Alyvia drowned the teacher out as she focused her attention on the giant clock that rested on the wall above her head as she listened to the sound of the hand clicking.
"Summer." Chad spoke with a giant smile, placing a hand on Troy's shoulder.
"Summer." Alyvia grinned, smiling at her brother.
"Summer." Chad and Alyvia smiled at each other.
"Summer. Kelsi joined from in front of Liv.
"Summer." Gabriella dreamily said from the back of the room, looking at Troy.
"Summer." Taylor and Martha joined as the group continued chanting the word.
"Summer. Summer. Summer."
As the school bell rang everyone through their papers into the air, cheering for summer vacation.
Chad quickly stood from his seat, holding his hand out for Liv, causing her to grab it with a smile as she stood from her seat.
The boy spun her in a circle before placing a kiss on her cheek, causing them both to smile before he pulled Troy into a bro hug as he jumped onto the desk in the middle of the classroom.
What time is it?
Summer time! It's our vacation!
What time is it?
Party time! That's right, say it aloud!
What time is it?
Time of our lives! Anticipation!
What time is it?
Summertime!
School's out, scream and shout!
Finally, summer's here
Good to be chillin' out (yeah)
I'm off the clock (hey)
The pressure's off
Now my girl's what it's all about
Ready for some sunshine
For my heart to take a chance
I'm here to stay, no movin' away
Ready for a summer romance
Everybody ready, goin' crazy, yeah, we're out
What time is it?
Summertime! It's our vacation!
What time is it?
Party time! That's right, say it aloud!
What time is it?
Time of our lives! Anticipation!
What time is it?
Summertime!
School's out, scream and shout!
Goodbye to rules, no summer school
I'm free to shop 'til I drop
It's an education vacation
And the party never has to stop
Got things to do, I'll see you soon
And we're really gonna miss you all
Goodbye to you and you
And you and you
Bye bye, until next fall
Everybody ready, goin' crazy, yeah, we're out
Come on and let me hear you say it now, right now
What time is it?
No more wakin' up at 6 a.m.
'Cause now our time is all our own
Enough already, we're waiting
Come on, let's go
Go out of control!
School pride, let's show it!
We're champions and we know it!
Wildcats are the best!
Red, white and gold!
When it's time to win, we do it!
We're number one, we proved it!
Let's live it up! get the party down!
That's what this summer's all about!
What time is it?
Summertime is finally here!
Yeah!
As the bell rang everyone jumped around and cheered in the middle of the cafeteria. Chad wrapped his arms around Alyvia's waist picking her off the ground as he spun her in a circle causing her to squeal with a giant smile on her face. As he placed her back on the ground Kelsi rushed over to the girl, pulling her into a tight hug before she was quickly pulled away by Taylor and Martha.
"No, but seriously, guys, this summer I gotta make bank. My parents are talking about how much college is gonna cost."
"Yeah, my folks are gonna match whatever I'm gonna make but I gotta get hired first." Zeke spoke.
"Me, too. I'm saving up for a car, so I can take that little hottie on a proper date." Chad smirked, winking at the Bolton girl as she passed by, causing her to blush.
"Dude, gross that's still my sister." Troy spoke, holding his arms out, causing the other three boys to chuckle.
"You guys are so cute!" Martha gushed, once the four girls were out of earshot of the boys. "I wish I had a boyfriend who treated me like that."
"Oh no, Chad's not my boyfriend." Alyvia shook her head with a small smile on her face. "I mean, I guess we kinda act like couple but he technically hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend."
"Really, that's not what I heard." Martha spoke as the sound of the bell rang, causing her to walk backwards. "Shoot. I forgot something at my locker. I'll catch you guys later."
"Wait, what have you heard?" Alyvia called after the girl, but it was too late she was gone. "Do you guys know what she's talking about?"
"Honey, it's obvious that you and Chad are more than just friends even without the labels." Taylor explained. "Everyone can see the way you guys are around each other. If I wasn't friends with you I would think you guys were a couple too."
"So, what are your guy's summer plan's?" Alyvia asked, quickly changing the subject.
"Work." Taylor answered. "Gabriella and I have had, like, five job interviews, but we keep getting beat out by college kids."
"Yeah, same with me and Troy." Alyvia groaned, glancing over at her friend on her other side. "What about you Kels? What are you planning to do this summer?"
"Grow, write music. Grow." Kelsi answered, causing Alyvia and Taylor to chuckle.
Troy went running past the trio, causing Alyvia to smile lightly.
Alyvia felt the weight on her shoulder being lifted, causing her to look to her left to find the Danforth boy with her backpack with one strap over his shoulder, making her smile at the boy.
"I can carry my own backpack." Alyvia chuckled.
"I know, but I want to." Chad shrugged, placing his arm over the girl's shoulders, causing Taylor to send her a look.
The group all continued down the hallway but quickly stopped in their trackas as they watched Troy place a necklace around Gabriella's neck.
"Aw, that's so romantic." Taylor gushed, grabbing onto Kelsi and Martha's arm, who locker wasn't far from where the Wildcats were standing.
"They're so cute!" Martha added, causing the others to nod.
"But not as cute as me and Liv though, right?" Chad questioned, gesturing between himself and Alyvia, causing the trio to turn towards the pair.
"Definitely."
"Right."
"So cute."
Alyvia let out a chuckle as she patted the boy's chest as he looked at her confused before shaking it off as he looked over at Troy.
"Hoops, Let's go." Chad called, waving the boy along as he dropped his arm from around Alyvia's shoulders as he grabbed her hand, pulling the girl ahead of everyone.
"Yeah, sure, sure. We're not busy or anything." Troy sarcastically said, pointing between him and Gabriella as he nodded for the others to follow before quickly following after Chad and his sister out of the school building to celebrate their summer vacation.
