~3rd Person PoV~
One week later, the Jade Winglet flew back to the Academy where Winter helped explain to the DoD the reason behind her sudden disappearance.

"Moonwatcher, we're very sorry for your loss. But, please, next time tell one of us first. We were very worried, we were about to contact the other queens for a Pyhrria-wide search for you when we got Glory's message." Clay said, giving the once-again crying NightWing a hug.

"We'll inform the students of your mother's suicide and instructions to not overwhelm you." Tsunami informed them. "Now I believe your next lesson with Webs begins in ten minutes. Better get to it."

~Hailstorm's PoV~
"Hailstorm, do you remember those two eggs Avalanche stole a month ago?" Queen Snowfall questioned.

"Of course, Your Majesty." I replied, hiding my distugst. "What about them?"

"I need you to take them and hide them until they hatch. Once they hatch, take them to the palace my mother had built for visting Blaze. I'll meet you there. Avalanche is waiting in the main courtyard for you with the eggs." She explained.

I felt my heart thump rapidly as I proceeded to the courtyard. This was my chance! I had been planning to steal them and return them to their parents, who must be full-blown panicking by now.

'This is perfect!' I thought, as the IceWing who deserved to be in the Seventh Vircle situated the satchel with the two eggs around my neck. 'I'll give them to Winter. Then ask him to tell me when they've hatched. I'll have Moon knock me out so I'll have evidence and say that the parents found me and knocked me out reclaiming their eggs. Sure, I'll probably be knocked down to Third Circle but it'll be worth the punishment.'

[timeskip two weeks]
'There's Jade Mountain.' I told the eggs, angling my wings so I could land at the main entrance. 'I hope my brother can find your parents little ones.'

I carefully took the satchel off and rested them on the trunk of a nearby oak tree. Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye I saw a black blur rocket out of the the cave. Next thing I knew I was on my back, wings pinned to the ground, and a front talon pressed firmly onto my neck.

Looking up, I noticed that the Nightwing pinning me was thin, looked like she had been crying, and her eyes were dull and glazed with grief. Then, I noticed the two silver teardrop scales at the corners of her eyes.

"What have you done with them?!" Moonwatcher snarled into my face, her usually calm and sweet voice now corrupted with grief and pain.

"Moon?!" Winter called out, and I exhaled in relief. "What's going on?"

"Where are they?!" She snarled again, not even hearing Winter.

"Moon... I... don't... know... what... you're... talking... about." Hailstorm gasped out. "Winter... a little... help here?"

My younger brother bounded over and pulled Moon off of me. The instant her eyes broke contact with me, she melted down, wings drooping and chest heaving. As Winter, wrapped his wings around her, he gazed at me.

"What are you doing here? Surely Queen Snowfall didn't enroll you?" He asked me curiously, as the NightWing wept uncontrollably in his wings.

~Winter's PoV~
"No. She gave me a mission; one I have no plans on completing in any way, shape, or form. Instead..." My brother began walking over to a pair of satchels. Then to my utter shock and amazement, he lifted Secretkeeper's stolen eggs out!

"She wanted me to take them somewhere to hatch and then bring the dragonets to her palace on this side of the cliff." He explained. "Instead, I'm giving you the eggs, so you can their parents. I'm just gonna tell her that the parents ambushed me and reclaimed them."

At the word 'eggs' I felt Moonwatcher freeze. Disentangling herself from my wings, she stumbled over to the IceWing prince. She held out her front talons and, albeit somewhat hesitantly, my brother handed them off to her.

As soon as she had both of them, she sat down and cradled both eggs in her front talons, her eyes shining and sparkling once again, whispering inaudible things them.

"Moon? Do you know these eggs' mother?" Hailstorm asked, then realized he said something wrong. My girlfriend froze, and began to tremble. I was at her side in an instant, wrapping my right wing around her.

"Hailstorm. These eggs contain Moonwatcher's half-siblings, even if one is adopted. After whoever stole her mother's eggs left, her mother tied her wings with vines and leaped to her death from the tallest waterfall in the Rainforest Kingdom.
