Hana was finally able to peel Akiko away from Sakura and send her outside to play while she tidied up the kitchen. Akiko was asking every question that popped into her mind and I could tell Sakura was tired.

"So what is our next move Sasuke? You still haven't told me what happened back at the inn." Sakura asked me directly. We finally had a moment of privacy together to talk. I knew she wasn't going to let me off the hook.

I took a deep breath. I really didn't want this stress to fall on her shoulders, especially with the baby. "All they said was that I'm not untouchable and I'll get what's coming to me." I purposefully left out the bit about them wanting her. I still didn't know why yet so there wasn't any reason to make her worry.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I'm not sure."

"You haven't encountered anyone since you went blind protecting Hana." I could see her putting it together in her head, "Do you think it's connected?"

"I don't know" I said honestly. "I just know I'm keeping you safe. Whatever I have to do." She's put her life in danger for me countless times but I refused to allow it to happen again. She was due to give birth in mere weeks and she shouldn't have to worry about the safety of her and the baby.

"This is not how I envisioned this" she said to herself quietly as she cradled her stomach. "Me neither" I told her quietly, my hand resting on hers.

And then it clicked, it ignited a fire in me. There was one small piece I've been over looking this whole time.

I was through putting their lives at risk, this was going to end. I'd do whatever I had to to ensure that. I stood abruptly and went to find Hana. Sakura began to follow. "Stay here."

"What is it Sasuke?" Hana asked as she turned to face me, drying her hands on her apron.

"Why were you running from Akiko's father?"

She was visibly taken aback, "what do you mean?"

"Don't play Hana" I threatened as I activated my Sharingan. "Why?"

She was trembling, "I- I- I don't know wh-what you're asking."

"You know exactly what I'm asking Hana."

"I-I-"

"Tell me!"

"He was trying to take her away from me!" She finally shouted, exasperated.

"Is that because you're involved in something that putting Akiko's own safety at risk? Because he wanted to take her away from you?"

"No! I-"

"Stop lying Hana! You were passing along information! You were the only one who knew where we were and that Sakura was pregnant!" It all made perfect sense; Hana was involved but I didn't  yet understand the extent of it all.

Hana dropped her head to look at the floor, her fists clinched at her sides. Her voice was low, "You have no idea what my family suffered through."

And without hesitation she pulled a kunai from under her apron and lunged at my chest.
