While Amber continued to fuss over the female, Lumine took this as an opportunity to observe her.
The girl's hair was long, even more so than Amber's. While the clouded, dark sky muted the colors, the golden-haired traveler still noted the deep, lustrous, almost cafe noire shade of it. It must have been braided neatly, however the wind caused more than a few wisps of hair to be loose.
She had a warm beige skin tone, and her face was very slightly flushed. The woman dressed in white deduced it was the aftermath of her panic.
The brunette looked to be fit, but Lumine noticed the soft tremble of fatigue in her fingers.
She might not be a fighter Lumine thought.
The girl had some sort of mark on her forehead, shaped like a tear drop but a deep maroon with black borders. It rested just slightly above her eyebrows.
Almost like that ominous crystal Paimon and I found in the woods! She realized with a start.
Lumine however, immediately dismissed the thought of this person being associated with Stormterror. She clearly hadn't been expecting to hitch a ride on a dangerous dragon on a Thursday morning.
The only form of jewelry she could see on the brunette were golden studs and a simple chain with a weird pendant hanging right above her chest. She also had some sort of red rope wrapped around her left wrist that acted as a bracelet.
Fascinating... of all the worlds I have travelled too, I have never seen anyone use rope as a form of jewelry the traveler thought curiously.
She did have a blazer, but it was pitifully hanging from that spike she just fell from. Underneath it was a beige shirt with two uniform stripes of navy blue cutting across it on the chest. Its sleeves seemed to have been torn due to the wind. There was also a badge pinned onto the left side of the shirt, with writing that Lumine couldn't read.
The female was wearing dark, navy blue pants made of a material that the blonde wasn't aware of. She was bare footed but judging from the slight red marks around her ankles, she had been wearing some form of footwear prior to falling on the dragon.
The blonde-haired girl was broken from her thoughts when Paimon started talking.
"Oh, you're hurt!!!" the little floating child exclaimed.
Lumine and Amber's eyes snapped towards the brunette's arm, noticing the multitude of cuts and bruises gracing every inch of her skin.
"By the seven!! Here let me help you u-" before Amber could finish her sentence, the girl had forced herself off of the ground without taking the outrider's outstretched hand.
The knight sweat-dropped at the indirect refusal, then stared in shock. The golden-eyed teen was a bit startled too.
The girl was clearly way taller than what she had initially imagined. She stood at about 5"7 (170.2 cm) in height, her slender neck and neutral gaze making her seem even taller than that.
"Thank you for worrying about me, but I am alright. These are just scrapes that you needn't fret about"
Wow-
The traveler definitely didn't expect her to talk in such a firm, yet polite voice. It was an octave lower than a regular girl's voice, but the golden-eyed woman thought it to be nice. For some reason, it seemed to suit the girl's overall appearance.
Before any of them could talk, slow clapping could be heard.
All heads turned towards the man that started to walk up to them. Lumine noted that he too, seemed to be a knight.
He was tall, with a tanned complexion. He had long navy-blue hair, some of it cascading from his left shoulder down to his waist. There was a fur collared cape attached to his shoulders, and he sported black trousers and boots. She noticed that like amber, he too had a very odd jewel that hung from his belt. It was ice blue.
"You've actually got the power to go up against the dragon" stated the man as he got closer. His eyes were periwinkle, with a star shaped pupil.
Why do those pupils seem familiar? She thought, before dismissing it as he continued speaking.
"Are you a new ally.... or a new storm?" Her golden eyes narrowed at his suspicion towards her.
There is someone injured and tired right in front of him, and yet the first thing he does is throw out neatly hidden suspicions?
"Stormterror... is attacking Mondstadt itself!!" Amber said, like she finally realised this wasn't a joke.
"Kaeya, Traveler, you've come at the right time!! We must-"
"Hold on Amber. Are you perhaps forgetting to introduce us?" The man, Kaeya, asked lightly, his arms crossed above his chest as if he were itching to interrogate them.
"Oh...right. This is Kaeya, our Cavalry Captain. These three are Paimon, Lumine and..." the knight trailed off uncertainly at the presence of the other girl, causing the Cavalry Captain to lift an eyebrow.
"My name is Divyasree, however it is a mouthful, so you can call me Divya if you wish" the brunette said, smoothly cutting off the silence before it became awkward.
Divya...sree? Such a unique name....
It sounds really pretty!! Lumine thought.
The Outrider shot Divya a grateful look, before continuing her introductions.
"Mhm. They're travelers from afar"
Noting the slight distrust from her senior, the archer began to explain their situation.
"I see. Welcome to Mondstadt - though you haven't arrived at the best of times i'm afraid" Kaeya said, after he assimilated the information provided to him, albeit it being very little.
"I understand the anguish of being separated from family. I'm not really sure why you're looking for the Anemo God, but everyone has their secrets, right?"
That tone of mirth should have made the atmosphere light, but his eye made it seem like he knew a lot more than she had told.
I shouldn't trust him too easily Lumine thought wearily.
"Haha! Relax, i won't press you for more" The blue-haired man said, looking at her suspicious eyes.
It didn't escape her notice that the girl- Er, Divya- was keeping quiet. It seemed that Kaeya noticed it too, because he glanced at her before turning back to them.
"First and foremost, on behalf of the Knights of Favonius, I would like to thank you for your help just now. The both of you"
That appeared to snap the brunette out of whatever daze she was in. She seemed like she wanted to say something but chose against it.
"Well, we couldn't just leave the situation to fester!!" Paimon said on behalf of Lumine, given that she wasn't familiar with Teyvat's common language just yet.
"Your fight to defend the city against the dragon just now was witnessed by no small number of citizens, as well as your attempts of... soothing it"
It looks like he is questioning Divya's actions
However, either said girl didn't care about what he thought, or she simply did not deem it necessary to justify her actions. Both were commendable, to say the least.
"The Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius is also very interested in meeting you, and formally invites you three to our headquarters"
"Ah, before that-" Lumine chose this moment to speak out, and it caught the attention of the knights and Paimon.
"Is it possible if we could visit a... healer? I believe Divyasree would be much more comfortable once those scrapes and bruises have healed"
Almost as if Kaeya hadn't noticed, his eyes widened slightly at the sight of her bruised and cut arms.
"Of cour-"
"Please, don't let my small injuries hinder any progress that is to be made. They are just scratches, nothing more. They will heal with time, so i don't require any medication or... healing"
There it was again, her firm yet gentle tone strangely brought Lumine some comfort.
"No no!! Traveler is right!! We must get you to a healer-" Amber tried to persuade the girl, but it seemed she wasn't going to budge.
Divyasree held up a hand, shaking her head as if to say she wasn't going to listen to the knight's genuine attempts of aid.
"Then perhaps we could visit a clothing store? Surely, those ripped clothes must be making the wounds ache a lot more" Kaeya proposed, and the brunette mulled over it before sighing and accepting.
"Then it's settled!!" Amber seemed delighted at the fact that she could introduce them to Mondstadt fashion.
Kaeya didn't trust the three strange travelers, especially the brunette who seemed to be lost in thought.
Afterall, not just anyone could have soothed a dragon's rage, let alone a former protector of Mondstadt and one of the Four Winds. She possessed such a strange name too. Familiar yet, not at the same time.
Divyasree, if I didn't know any better, I would have thought she'd be a native from Sumeru, were his thoughts. However, her slightly tattered clothes were clearly not from any place in Teyvat that he had visited.
They had just purchased the brunette clothes and were now heading over to the headquarters. The girl had chosen rather simple clothing, opting for an off-white blouse with a pair of ankle length trousers (that were really hard to get). She wore a cropped black coat along with the items.
It looked good on her, he supposed, though he didn't care much for how she looked.
The tall teen looked lost in thought, her gaze clouded over as she had taken to rest within the confines of her mind. Whatever she was thinking about, it didn't appear to be good for her eyebrows had started to knit together.
The Traveler, Lumine, and that strange floating child Paimon, had attempted to gain her attention but so far remained unsuccessful. Amber had long since given up on gaining her attention.
She sure gives her thoughts quite a lot of priority, the blue haired man mused.
It seemed Kaeya had been observing her a bit too much, for she had turned around to meet his eyes. He flashed her one of his wide grins, only to find her return it with a small, polite smile of her own before turning around and going back to her thoughts.
How peculiar....
She had just found him narrowing his gaze at her, and yet she maintained her polite facade and even returned his smile.
How long will it be until you show who you are under that facade I wonder?
The other girl, Lumine had avoided his gaze, and he noted with amusement that she had yet to fully trust him.
Unfortunately, he could no longer study the two for they had arrived at their destination.
The Headquarters of the Order of the Knights of Favonius.
